I'm Australian and I love this video! I even learned things I didn't already know about my own country and that's just awesome!
Also, that last part about Americans loving our accent is weirdly true. I was gaming online with roughly 11 Americans and once I started joining in on the conversation and actually speaking (I was quietly listening for the first few minutes because I get shy when gaming with strangers online), what felt at the time like the entire party became bizarrely excited. I was absolutely stunned. They asked me to say a bunch of different words and just loved me - I was only too happy to indulge them too. It was one of the nicest receptions I've ever received from a group of people I'd just met.
To every happy lovely person out there: if ye be American or anybody else, I'll love you back if you want to love me at all. You're all beautiful and I wish you a great day!

I had a holiday in the old West Germany in 1974 and found the local people welcoming and very hospitable Back then as English is my language we would often be asked if we were English or American. We would explain we were Australian as many other country's had not heard an Australian accent. Interestingly, we were treated differently and I suspect much more warmly than the British or Americans. The Germany I experienced was a neat, clean and beautiful country where as Britian was considered the garbage dump of Europe due to its litter and pollution of the day. I live in Adelaide and the town of Handorf is close by. Many Germans settled their over 100 years ago and Handorf is renowned for its wines, German pubs/cuisine/bakery's etc. A beautiful place inspired by Germans.😁😎👍

The things missing from this video as it was quite brief...
-A bit about the cities and states, tourist spots and buildings - Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Alice Springs, Hobart
-Our national sport AFL (Australian rules football) and cricket (which is played internationally),
-Hardly any reference to our unique wildlife and plants - kangaroos, cockatoos, bilby, echidna, platypus, wombats, koalas, frilled lizard, eucalyptus, banksia, kangaroo paw etc
-A bit about our politics Edit: As of today 22/05 our current Labor government and prime minister Anthony Albanese
-The great barrier reef, the largest living organism on Earth
    -Ayers rock/Uluru - a sacred aboriginal site
-Exports and mining (such as coal, uranium, iron ore and other natural resources) and farming,
-Foods (like our meat pie and a couple of other things),
-Australia day, Anzac day and other important days,
-Some historical figures like Ned Kelly, Harold Holt, C.Y O'Connor
-Our music and famous people - ACDC, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Heath Ledger, The Living End, Midnight Oil, Mel Gibson and more.
-A bit about our currency AUD Australian dollar.. we have 5, 10, 20, 50 cent coins and 1, 2 dollar coins and then we have 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 dollar notes.
And a couple of other things.

bitterman co I'm from Vic and we have a considerable aboriginal population in the Yarra Valley district, as there was a prominent mission there in the 19th and early 20th centuries; Coranderrk. However, I guess due to the colder climate there are less Aboriginal people in Vic than in the warmer parts of Australia...which makes sense I guess.
We definitely have a prominent Aboriginal presence though (Aunty Di Murphy does the 'welcome to country' at major events, including the AFL indigenous round).

    Straight from Wikipedia mate:
The only living organism in Lake Hillier is Dunaliella salina, the microorganism that causes the salt content in the lake to create a red dye, hence the colour. Another hypothesis is that the pink colour is due to red halophilic bacteria in the salt crusts. Despite the unusual hue, the lake exhibits no known adverse effects upon humans.

Hi, As a FR dude (37) I lived for a year in AUS in Sydney half the time and then in the outback traveling and meeting ppl after.
    Great video ! (as usual ? :D)
I'm not sure where that would fit (maybe in the last part, friend zone ?) but AUS and FR are quite close as ausies played a huge part in saving our asses in the big war, in a suicide mission pretty much. We celebrate that act every year in the region they took part in the war.
I'll remember the year i spent over there for a very long time if not for as long as i live. so many amasing memories and experience.

Honestly, I’ve always felt kind of ambiguous about Australia: It definitely has things that I want to see, both nature-wise and culture-wise, but the expense and logistics of actually getting there, plus staying long enough to actually enjoy everything - or at least most of what- I want to see makes me wonder if it would even be worth it. New Zealand is in a similar vein, but I’d be slightly more motivated to indulge my inner geek and splurge for a tour that visits all of The Lord of the Rings filming sites.

Hm as an Australian I would say the main appeal of Australia is how scarcely populated it is, and beaches/ nature ( so great if you like to do caravaning/camping). New Zealand is awesome though.a lot smaller and my favourite is the natural hot springs you can just access for free in public areas.

Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a sovereign country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. It is the largest country in Oceania and the world's sixth-largest country by total area. The population of 26 million is highly urbanised and heavily concentrated on the eastern seaboard. Australia's capital is Canberra, though its largest city is Sydney. The country's other major metropolitan areas are Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.
