Keep the momentum. Private always takes longer than wat people think it will take. And if u don’t meet the pace that u were expecting. It’s ok. Just take it in and learn as much as u can.
@@irubenguler it's an exciting experience. I watched a lot of mock checkrides on YT and it prepared me well. I'll probably make a video on details when I fly next.
Glad to hear that your first month went well! One tip that helped me a ton during private: get a cockpit poster of the plane you fly. This will help you when you chair fly and helps you practice memory flows (like for emergencies) and develop muscle memory. And I second getting a bigger logbook. I got the big Jeppesen logbook before I even took my first flight lol
Unreal Ruben! Everyone’s journey is different mate, awesome that you are sharing yours. I’m almost 2 years into chasing down a PPL and have documented the whole lot. Things don’t always go to plan that’s for sure! I’ll be watching man, godpseed 🚀
Good videos! I recorded all my flights thus far. Then I’m just gonna upload one per week after I get my PPL. I have 2 GoPros with cockpit audio. One on the outside under the left wing pointed at the fuse which catches me and catches the tires on landing. Another one is mounted in the inside in every flight. Cessna 172.
Great work. I would say a better explanation of a stall is where the aircraft is unable to maintain sufficient lift to overcome gravity. It still produces some lift just not enough. I got my PPL back in 2022 and got my instrument about 2 weeks ago.
Concerning logbooks: HIGHLY recommend getting a digital logbook through either Foreflight or LogTen (You should be getting foreflight anyway. It's almost a staple to general aviation these days). I can't stress this enough. If you're going through training and your logbook gets lost, stolen, destroyed, whatever before you enter in your information into IACRA for your checkride, you're screwed. All of those hours and money spent down the drain, you have to start over. If you only go with a paper logbook, take pictures of each complete page. Once you go for your checkride and enter in all of your hours into IACRA, the FAA will have a log of your most up-to-date information on that day. I stopped using a paper logbook about 800 hours ago and the last entry is my CFI checkride. If your goal is the airlines, they are moving to wanting digital logbooks and all the information printed out into a small booklet for interviews. Tips from a current airline pilot and previous instructor :) Hope the rest of your training goes well!

Thank you for the comment! Honestly I wish more people would comment like this bc that’s what really motivates me to make these videos! Yes can def throw in some advice on managing a work/school schedule 🙂
Congrats on a month of piloting! I’m going to be pedantic and quibble with your description of an aerodynamic stall. Lift is composed of the push up on the bottom of the wing from high pressure ram air (Newton’s third law) AND the pull up on the top of the wing from low pressure air (Bernoulli’s principle/the Venturi effect). When you have a high angle of attack and the wing stalls, you still have ram air pushing up on the wing, but the airflow becomes turbulent over the top of the wing and you lose the low pressure area that’s doing a lot of the work. The pressure under the wing would still be higher, just not high enough to hold the weight of the plane. This week I made a trip to Sporty’s Pilot Shop in Cincinnati and got most of my flight school gear. Can’t wait to start in a few weeks! Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and thoughtful advice!
I'm going to be a bit more pedantic because I feel like people fail to explain in layman's terms what actually happens on top of the wing in a stall. When you hit the critical angle of attack the airflow actually detaches from the top of the wing. It's why people say that you can stall at any speed. When this airflow detaches what is left is a tumbling zone of air above the wing, much like the wake behind a boat. You can actually mimic the effect by running a butter knife through water. It slices through the water like a wing through air, but if you turn it sideways you get turbulent water behind the trailing edge, much like a wing.
The laminar airflow gets wind layers not flowing properly on a cAOA, causing a higher pressure than normal above the airfoil. Not enough lift to support the load factor. The higher the AOA, the more surface area the relative wind has to hit the bottom of the airfoil, which also causes more drag.
what up bro. Came across your video since I’m about to start flight school too. Your hat caught my intention. My little sis does the graphic designs for Inaka here in Houston. Dope hat

I just did my second flight lesson today in a Bellanca Citabria. I am getting more comfortable and confident in the airplane. I practiced steep turns, slow flight, and box patterns around the airport today. I am still working on improving my skill with the rudder. My patterns around the airport are terrible. I am definitely improving though compared to how I did on my introductory flight about 6 months ago. I haven't done any takeoffs yet but my instructor said that I will on my next lesson.
