Boozhoo @Way2Spirited. Zhawenim is the stem of the verb that means "to love somebody." Gi-zhaawenimishinaan! You must love us! So I guess it could be translated "Come, love us" or "harbor love for us."

This is a very powerful song and can be used to frighten away evil.Bad spirits flee when the bear spirit is called upon. In this video I see makwa on the back of the drummers head, under the chairs I see shadows moving that I believe to be the spirit of the bear .The spirits are in the background at the top left and on the piece of firewood I believe that object to be, it's to the left of the drummers on the ground a rectangular shaped object.I giving thanks to these women for the effort they put into this video and I thank them for having such a powerful belief in what they are singing that makwa was actually with them when they called upon him with this song.In this video I see true spiritual power at work. Awesome!!! 🐻

100% ojibway, first and foremost I'm an inhabitant of this planet. We are all brothers and sisters. We are all equal. Our past is not important, its who we are at present that defines us. After all the heart lives in the present not past or future.

My grandfathers and grandmothers walked the trial of tears, shall I not remember them and shed a tear?
