come on man. hugh jackman at least looks like wolverine. jack reacher is 6'5, 250lb, dirty blonde, very musclular and has a huge chest and he is suppost to look REALLY intimidating. tom cruise is 5'6, 170lb, brown hair, and he has a slim-muscular body type. i still enjoyed the movie ALOOOOOT though. The most ridiculous thing is,I was searching for an A- action movie from Chris in a playlist, saw Jack Reacher in it, didn't see the review (as blind my faith is in Chris) and ended up watching the damn sequel. My frustration was out of this world.
I really like two genres of movies: action and thriller. This movie gives the perfect blend of the two which is why it is among my personal top 5. There is only one problem: That too with the opening scene(seriously!!).They should not have spoiled the true identity of the killer by showing his face.Lee Child does not make that mistake in the novel.
the novel can discreetly describe the shooter in words without revealing his identity but they can hardly prevent that in motion picture or it would be awkward and make it obvious in the other way. unless they ditch that whole scene altogether, but that scene was awesome!
I absolutly LOVED Jack Reacher, in my Opinion maybe the best, but atleast in the top 5 movies of that year (considering the year 2012 was terrible movie wise, this isn`t an overstatement). I saw many people give the movie hate, but for me, it had great acting, Tom Cruise is bad ass in this movie without being over the top. The action scenes are great, and the investigation stuff and all is just plain good. This is an overall solid movie, it is not a movie that you seriously need to watch, but if you want to watch a cool movie, give it a look, it is worth it.
German Survivalist I thought we got movies like Argo, The Avengers, and 12 Years A Slave and Wreck-It Ralph in it. TDKR wasn’t my favorite Batman movie nor was it mine from the trilogy, but I don’t remember the ear being filled with that little.
@@thefirstbourne149 Every time someone says that they didn't like TDKR or even hate that once in a lifetime masterpiece, I don't feel the need to defend nolan like his fanboys but remind myself that the standard of cinema in 2012 was sooooooo good that people chose to dislike TDKR. Only Infinity war can hold a candle to it other than TDK as a comicbook movie with all it's 300million dollars of cgi ,blockbuster cast & marketing. You have to be braindead to nitpick how bruce went to gotham from the pit in 3 months since it was the first time someone did a time jump in a movie
I don't see anyone complaining about the huge miscast that Hugh Jackman is for Wolverine who's 5ft 4in in the comics but is built like a tank and feral looking while Jackman is 6ft 2in built and jacked with a handsome face. Hypocrisy at its best.
Sergio Velasco the average human arm of a 5 foot 2 man cannot come even close to fitting the average length of wolverines claws without compromising joint movement
Ricky Carrillo The average size of a human forearm for a 5ft 2in man is around 8-10in for a 6ft 2in man would be no more than 9-11in. So yeah, unless Wolverine's claws are over 10 inches long, a 5ft 2in man could have claws up to 10 inches long. Besides that, Wolverine doesn't have normal human proportions, he's built like a feline, low fat high muscle with big hands and feet and thick legs and forearms. So it's not in the realm of impossibility for his arms to be slightly longer for his height. _lh3.googleusercontent.com/inMNmCqa3Rq8LmDju7IneC5KYNpcR4c1yax_ReIwCAsZsVC7ZREFsiqcXQNRpwxwDoz3uLtmg7E_
Am I the only one who thought that Jai Courtney was actually good in this movie? I think Jai Courtney is very good at playing a cold and cruel character...just don't ask him to show any emotion...
the movie was well crafted and taken care of details because Lee Child, the author himself participated in script writing and he even appeared as a desk sergeant in a scene :D

Jack Reacher, though it did ok at the Box Office, is one of the 2 most under"watched" movies in years, the other one being Edge of Tomorrow, no comments;) I think its a superb mystery thriller with almost the same wibe as The Usual Suspects. Your videos have gotten a lot better over the years. You did a good job here but I can see how you’ve matured over the last 7 years which is cool to see.
A very good review. I never understood the hate this movie got. I thought it's a very atmospheric thriller, and i loved the soundtrack. Sure the plot isn't perfect and the acting from some of the supporting cast wasn't that good, but overall it's a very well made movie.
Thank you Chris, thank you, I thought I was the only one who loved it. It's a fantastic thriller. Tom Cruise needs to release a movie like this every winter
By looking at your review videos, one would never guess you were super tall, but then you watch your Halloween skit where you stand next to your refrigerator and your shoulders are at the same height as the top of the fridge. Nice Napoleon Dynamite reference.
Dude, there were so many imitations in the last few years. These filmmakers are awesome. I was super impressed by the movie. What are the cool Reacher books??????
I always thought the car chase scene was the scariest part of the film and the final fight between him and Jai Courtney as well. It's such an intense and scary movie, I think I should read the books now.
This is why i watch your reviews, Chris. When i saw the trailers for this movie, I was like mehh looks like your typical action movie, i was going to see it, but i just wasn't that interested. But because of your review, i'm actually kind of excited for it now. Thank you!
Okay so the two UA-cam reviewers I trust the most the Schmoes and Yourself have this film on totally different sides they panned it and you gave it an A- I guess it's time to go to the theater and find out for myself. Thanks for the review Chris great as always! -GM
+rajparmarman Really!?!? Not doubting you, but would you mind telling me where you heard (or read) that? I'm a huge Lee Child/Jack Reacher and would be beyond stoked if there really is another Reacher movie coming in the not too distant future. Hope to get a response! Thank you!
+Stratocastter it is filming now in Louisiana, based on the book that has Reacher accused of murder in the past and possibly having fathered a daughter he didn't know about.
I really liked this movie a lot l. I didn't think I'd like it so much, one of those surprisingly good movies and tom cruise did a really good job in it
I just saw it and was worried about Cruise's starpower (dwindling or not) overshadowing the character or even the film. I agree with Chris, he is different than in his past films, much more subdued and a different character altogether. And it does not distract from the rest of the film. It has a great mystery element and pacing. It has an oldschool thriller vibe. I liked it.
I have been hating on this movie ever since Cruise was cast. I love the books and the Reacher character. After your review, though, I'm actually considering watching it :) Good on you, Chris
Man that was awesome... when I saw the trailers I wasn´t interested in the movie, It looked like Day & Knight mix with M:I 4 (both movies I hate) but since you say that this movie its disturbing violent, full of suspense and dark mistery thriller I´m so hype to see it. I just can´t imagine how what you said it´s true if the trailers give away a tone that I just acept as the reality of the whole movie.
i absolutely loooved this film. i thought that it was great. i watched with my parents and they loved it a lot as well. the only problem that I had with this movie was the fact that I was super confused about the villains in this film and what they really had to do with this story. i am confused why Jai Courtney's character, Charlie, is working with the Russian guy. i am also a bit confused on why they were hired in the first place and why they killed the guy who hired them. i really wish they took the time out to give us a bit more background on the villain's in this movie because it really bugs me a lot that i don't really know or understand why they are there. and i really don't understand why the cop, I'm sorry i can't remember his name, was working with the bad guys the whole time. can anyone please help me to understand any of this?? I'd really appreciate it!!
I really liked this film as well, I think people were expecting something else and then when they didn't get what they wanted tried to find a reason to hate it.
This movie was underrated in my opinion. It kinda reminds me of the Bourne Legacy. It has little action for a long movie. However unlike the Bourne Legacy, it has a good story, a good mystery, good characters, an evil villain.
This character is look like Jason Bourne + Bryan Mills so much. He is best ever skills and very smart. one man only to deal a problems. It's best thriller/detective movie of Tom Cruise. I think Jack Reacher better than Ethan Hunt.
This was a solid movie. Not GREAT, but very well-done. Tom Cruise, say what you want about him, always dedicates himself 100% to every role he takes. I suppose if I'd read the books, I'd be pissed about Cruise's casting too, but he does a good job here.
I definitely will watch this soon based on your excellent review video. None of my friends have seen it so I don;t have much feedback. I loved "Way of The Gun" Also by McQuarrie so I have high hopes for this one... Thanks Chris keep up the excellent work! :D
I LOVE ALL of your work man. No matter what mood I am in and especially if I need to ground myself your stuff always makes me happy and for that your one of say about 4 in as many videos of there are seen by me in YT. Thank you X
How Appropriate that Tom Cruise's Movie is your milestone 400th Video ! :) Congrats Chris ! Here's a Jack Reacher-ish version of you : "There's this guy. He's a kind of movie fanatic, at least he used to be. He doesn't care about production values, he doesn't care about the actor or director, he only cares about what's right. He knows when you do a good movie. Studios can't protect you. No one can" :D
This is probably the only time I have disagreed with you: I thought this movie was kind of silly and most characters out side of TC were kind of weak. Thought TC was ok. I don't give a dam how tall he is, he felt dangerous. Pittsburgh was a beautiful backdrop for the movie and I thought the cinematography was decent. There are a few REALLY good scenes including the pay phone part you mentioned. B-
@ChrisStuckmann love the channel. any chance of doing a follow up to this and reviewing the series of "Reacher" too? i really liked the first Jack Reacher movie and this series as well. Tom Cruise was amazing as Reacher and so was Alan Ritchson in the series. thanks for making these great videos.
I didn't even think about Hemsworth. He would be kind of perfect actually. He looks the part and has proved that he can act. Though I do think Cruise still did the character justice.
if chris hemsworth would have been the actor this movie would have been like some average hollywood movie.. tom cruise puts life in a movie.. his acting is just just amazing.. there is something apart from the looks.. its personality, behavior, charmingness.. and cruise has it all.. all the qualities of an alpha male.. like all the people i asked who their fav actor is everyone says cruise so why dont you people just shut up.. tom crusie is a super talented person.. and just go with it butthurted fuvkers..... y
Woah, just take it easy man! I was just saying if they didn't go with Cruise that Hemsworth would have been perfect to. I agree with what you're saying. Tom Cruise is one of my favorite actors as well because of the charisma and life that he throws into his roles. If Hemsworth was the lead that car chase probably wouldn't have been as spectacular because they probably would've had a stunt double driving. Cruise has the dedication and acting chops for a movie like this and I still stand by the fact that he was perfect for the role, and while he will always be Ethan Hunt to me, Jack Reacher will always be seen as Tom Cruise through my eyes despite his different appearance in the books. No need for name calling man...
I also think that Cruise is a talented actor, he is just not the type of Jack Reacher as he is described in the books. They should at least consider that every reader gets a description of him in each of the 20 books by now and so has a picture in his mind. And sorry to say to all the bad mannered Cruise Fans, he is not the type, not at all.
At the end I was expecting you to go like: "I'm kidding, this movie is bad!" but i respect your opinion and will watch it despite all the negative reviews it's getting. I'm also a fan of Tom Cruise. What's your favorite performance of his? I found him MINDBLOWING in 'Born on the 4th of July'.
The Zec was paying Emerson for protection & to keep him informed on what the cops knew. That's how the Zec's guys knew Reacher was involved with the investigation & why Emerson was involved in framing Reacher for killing Sandy. At one point towards the end, he says something like 'you act like I had a choice' so either the Zec was blackmailing him OR he was already so deep in the corruption, that he had to go on and try to kill everyone involved so no one would find out about him.
I saw this movie in theaters and at first I wasn't sure about it. I really am a Tom Cruise fan for the same reasons you stated. I then watched it again just recently and I liked it much much better.
Always can look forward to you telling it like it is! I wasn't sure about investing in this movie? But after your review I'm going to see it, I've been a Tom cruise fan but wasn't sure if this was a rip off of a mission impossible like movie
Im through defending myself for liking Tom Cruise. This guy is a great actor and this was a great role for him.He nails it in this film.
Wow not even mentioning Heath Ledger

an underrated film..amazingly mysterious.. brilliant car chase scene...and very well shot action scenes.
Also boring pace at times
also, the telephone "I'm not a hero scene", one of the best acted and written scenes I've seen in an action movie, ever.
Best Tom Cruise line ever (right before the bar fight):
Girl: I dont mind the sight of blood
Tom: Well it lets you know your not pregnant anyway.
Also, "he called me a whore!"
"Nobody said whore. She inferred hooker, but I meant slut."
Didn't he say "When it lets you know you're not pregnant."
He says "pregnant anymore"

Marcus Luttrell (the real-life Seal from 'Lone Survivor') is 6'5''. That took about 2 seconds to think of one who many people are aware of.
Yeah or look at Gurkhas , they have the best endurance and stamina our of all infranty

Lions for Lambs is actually a good film.
So what was the cops role in all of it?
Your Napoleon Dynamite impression was pure class!
Will you eventually review the After Earth trailer?
Dude this is getting a sequel. Don't bump it down because you don't have questions answered when it's getting a sequel.
I really liked this film as well, I think people were expecting something else and then when they didn't get what they wanted tried to find a reason to hate it.
I enjoyed it also and I knew Tom would do a good job. I read the book and I want to read more Jack Reacher novels.
You doing the Napoleon Dynamite voice was Hilarious!
Dude, the Napoleon Dynamite impression was dead on! Kudos!
Thank you X
Jack Reacher is one of my favorite movies of Tom Cruise. Another one would be Edge of Tomorrow ❤️
Loved the action scenes and the eerieness to it
How Appropriate that Tom Cruise's Movie is your milestone 400th Video !
If they followed his look from the books then we would've ended up with Dolph Lundgren as Jack Reacher lol!
Dolph is too old now, why not take Chris Hemsworth?
Dude! You had me at the totally randomly unexpected Napoleon Dynamite thingy.
Shocked you like it so much chris. Great review as always dude your the best?
I saw this movie in theaters and at first I wasn't sure about it. I really am a Tom Cruise fan for the same reasons you stated. I then watched it again just recently and I liked it much much better.
The car chase scene alone had me on edge
You should do a analysis review of "There will be blood". Loved your Prometheus review
No mention of Werner Herzog?
Always can look forward to you telling it like it is! I wasn't sure about investing in this movie? But after your review I'm going to see it, I've been a Tom cruise fan but wasn't sure if this was a rip off of a mission impossible like movie
great review can't wait to see this congrats on your 400th vid
wait so how tall is Chris and Ellis ?
