The Ruger M77 Mark II rifle is...long story short...a work of art.
Absolutely nothing like a mauser style bolt gun to make my day!
I have a m77 Mark ll in 300 win mag. It's a tac driver. I bought it at sports Authority about 16 years ago or so. Back when they sold guns... I paid $475 for it. Beautiful gun.
Awesome!
I had one in .308 with all weather stock. I don’t sell guns. But a young man I worked with offered me $800.00 for it back 2006. I thought he was crazy and sold it to him. Now, I am the crazy one. 😕
Love my Ruger M77 Hawkeye Alaskan in 300 win mag...with ammo it likes I have gotten .25 moa groups.
I just received a M77 MkII compact in .260. It was left to me when my Grandfather passed. It was his little “truck gun”. Its so short and compact that he would lay it on the dashboard in front of his steering wheel when he was on the logging roads bear hunting. I just had a Timney trigger installed and am going to sight it in this weekend. This will be the first season I’ll be hunting with a different rifle in almost 30 years. Im looking forward to taking something with my Gramp’s gun
I have one of the 260 rem compacts too. It's my favorite hunting rifle. It has always shot sub moa with every factory ammo round I could find. Not my only Ruger 77.
I’ve got a 1995 built M77 Mk2 in .243, absolutely love it
I have a ruger m77 mkII in 30 06 and absolutely love it. I got mine on sale when they were closing them out at a local gun store in 2007. It's a great rifle.
Awesome!!!
I’ve got a 1991 model in .270 and left handed. Drives nails at 100 with 130 grain hand loads. A thousand dollars wouldn’t touch it . Topped with a Leupold VX II compact 3-9x and a matte finish.
@Tony Ricketts - Great caliber, I have a Ruger M77 in the .280 Remington, just like the .270 Winchester, it's based on the classic 30-06 caliber.
I have two M77 MII’s I bought back in the 90’s. Paid under $400 for them both. Wish I had bought one in every caliber. I absolutely love the MKII’s.
Awesome video! I bought my first hunting rifle (Ruger M77 308W in 1994 ) 100yds / 5 cents coin smashed..(Size of your thumb nail). In 2001 I bought 300WM (Same as on your video) Also 5c coin smashed @ 100 yds.I am living and hunting in South Africa. These M77s is just a AWESOME RIFLE.
My Mark II .270 has been THE go to rifle since I bought it many years ago. Very dependable has never let me down.
Awesome! Thanks for watching Jeff
I have a m77 in 7mm mag. I got the gun from my grandpa and I have taken many deer with it and can't wait to take some more this year
You need to make a video explaining how to hold on the bulleye and move the crosshair to the bullet hole when sighting in. That'd be a really fun video.
Man I’m amazed at the quantity of videos that you produce, each one full of quality!!! I can’t even imagine the amount of work involved to accomplish this. With everything that’s taking place right now your vids are extremely appreciated!!! Thanks for putting in all your hard work to provide us with wholesome entertainment! Best channel on UA-cam!!!
Really appreciate you watching. I put a lot of work into it
I have a savage 110 that looks similar that has a stainless barrel and has been my friend for a long time and enjoy it
Good grouping with the Winchester ammo. Your friend is sighted in and ready to hunt a deer. Nice rifle too. Love the stock.
Love the MkII platform. If you're ever up for some serious abuse, try an original Ruger M77 MkII All Weather in 300WM...like a donkey kick to the shoulder every shot. But with 180 grain Nosler BTs and 75 grains of Reloder 22, it'll put five rounds into around 1/2" at 100 yards and it's a bangflop afield (gun goes bang and the animal flops over).
I am a big m77 fan
Try one in 338wm
Good for the dear deer? 😊 shouldn't it be BangFlopSizzleAhh? Good luck this coming hunting season!
@@jasonsimone3523 I actual have one...I find the recoil less abusive than the 300. Either one is miserable from the bench, though! LOL
@@dmg4415 Ooh, the sound of fresh backstrap on the griddle...good call!
My absolute favorite rifles I love the Mark 2 and the Hawkeye.
Just got one in .416 rigby !!! Can’t wait to get this bad boy on some sticks. I’m saving up for an African safari, I’m planning 3 years from now!
Awesome!
I have a ruger mark2 in 308 in the old paddle stock for the last 32 years and it is great
@Brad Daley - I also have a Ruger M77 MKII in the .308 Win caliber, stainless steel action and barrel and laminated stock. It's a tack driver.
My 220 Swift is a M77 MkII, I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything.
I've got one in .243 Winchester.... The all weather with the "boat paddle" stock...... Love it..... Had one in .223 when I was younger and sold it, regrettably!
Very nice
Just bought Ruger M77 in 7mm Remington magnum three weeks ago. Looked up the serial number on the Ruger website and it was made in 1989. Not a scratch on it with beautiful bluing on the barrel. I am in love with mine. Came with an old school Nikon scope on it. Lucky I found an old timer who is slowly selling off his collection. I have bought 4 guns off him so far. Ruger Blackhawk.357, 1968 Model 10 Smith & Wesson, Model 15 snubby Smith and that M77. That guy really knows how to take care of his guns. Thankful for gentlemen like him.
Whoa awesome find!
I bought my 77 MkII (.308) years ago
Love it, smooth as silk
Great looking thunder stick, looks like an old favorite of mine on top the Redfeild scope. Haven’t tried the new ones but got two nearing 40 years old that still do the job. Good shooting and gods speed to the WTW FAMILY AND FANS. 👍🇺🇸
Awesome
My 3x9x40 just died good luck 1980
A friend of mine has that exact same rifle. Did a bedding job on the action and started working up hand loads for it. It really likes 208 and 212 grain Hornady ELD-X and ELD-M bullets with Hodgdon H1000 powder at max magazine length (.015" off the lands). Both loads shoot 1/3 MOA all day long. Very nice rifle and with the weight and the muzzle brake it's a pleasure to shoot as well.
I've got a M77 Tang safety in 270 love it.
Gotta love the m77
You are right, I love these guns. I got one in the old skeleton stock or boat paddle as some call it. But it’s in 260 . I love it!!!!! I had a compact in one in 308 it was nice too . Just a little small lol .
Ooh very nice
Yes, those are beautiful rifles! A friend has a laminate 22 mag, and a walnut 30 96, both 77s.
Ahh I had an M77 Mark II in .204 Ruger. Sold it and have regretted it every since. Been looking for another one for several years, but no luck. Very nice rifle👍
I have a ruger m77 300win mag but it’s a 1977 bicentennial with the tang safety absolutely love it
I have a M77 Mk II in .270. Had a Barn Door Trigger on mine though. I installed a Timney and tuned it to wishfire. Swapped out the Stock for a Synthetic and free floated the Barrel, Shoots good now with my Hand Loads.
M77 MKII and Hawkeye ae very good rifles. I own 3 of them and they are all excellent. 260 rem, 30-06, 338 win mag. All of them are all weather models (stainless steel). The 30-06 was my first center fire big game rifle. I was planning on a caribou hunt in AK with my brothers. Boy, I remember it was a huge expense for me at the time. I was married with two kids and money was tight. I still own that rifle it will last several lifetimes of use.
I just sold my m77 mk II .243.... my favorite rifle. It held 1/4 inch groups at 100yds with hand loads.
I enjoy the channel, I bought that same rifle 1994 new, it has that composite stock that says Ruger , you know the one I remember grieving between 300Win 338 Win Mag , I ordered mine with open sights, brand new in a box never discharged.stainless steel, I kept shooting Ruger no1
Awesome!!! Appreciate you watching
The m77 II is my favorite rifle and 100% accurate and reliable
I love it
My 7mm Rem mag is the exact same rifle. So far I've killed a doe and my first wall hanger 8pt that I got a couple weeks ago with it. I've also got a .308 MKII with the zytel stock I've killed a doe and a small buck with. After I build this pole barn for a guy I'll get my tang safety 30-06 with iron sights out of pawn from my room mate that I've killed several small bucks and does with. I love Ruger M77s.
Redfield is sweet and that M77 is beautiful!!!!
Years ago, my son had one that was a .22 magnum. Was great fun at the range, but the bull barrel was 2 inches longer than M77 .22LR, so it made it a bit much to carry thru the woods all morning. Had never seen that exact stock until this video. Brings back memories.
nice gun.....great cal....i've got a 300 win mag in a mod.70 post 64..super shooter
That is one nice looking rifle. There is something about laminate stocks that appeal to me.
@Tim Allen - I have 3 Ruger M77s, one of them is a .308 Win with a stainless steel action and barrel and it has the laminated stock. I love the rifle.
@WHO_TEE_WHO, Back in 2019, and coincidentally a few days before my 19th birthday, my great-uncle gave me his Ruger M77 in .243, I absolutely love that rifle, and the .243 is such a great cartridge, it has a Redfield scope on it, and I actually just took a deer with it, about a month and a half or so ago, my great-uncle passed away last year, so the rifle is not just a shooter, but it is a memento of him, and I plan on taking really good care of it.
I’ve had my M77 for a long time, in one of my favorite calibers 25-06.👍 Keep up with the good videos.
Thanks for watching John
You are a good friend, doing that for a buddy! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
fantastic Rifles. have a few in my collection. quality for sure.
Great rifle & scope. Heard that Academy bought Redfield from Leupold. Have a Widefield Redfield shooting great for 40 yrs now. We're best buys then & now
I had a stainless one in 243 that I sold when I was young and have regretted it ever since
Whoa awesome
I'm quite familiar with those rifles. I currently have two rugers, one is a Gunsite Scout in .308win and the other is an M77 Hawkeye in .25-06. Beautiful rifles. I'm glad to see you got your hands on one and I know you'll enjoy it. Controlled round feed is super underrated.
Ruger M77 is not controlled round feed. They are push feed. They extractor snaps over cartridge rim upon closing the bolt completely.
@Karl Orth The MkII and the Hawkey M77's are controlled round feed. The original tang safety model M77 appeared to be but in actuality it was just push feed as you stated.
@@karlorth4156 he said hawkeye???
I've probably watched this video 10 times. Love my m77 mkii. Definitely an underrated rifle. The quality is outstanding.
Beautiful gun.
Would love to hv one
I have the same rifle in 30/06.
Mine has iron sights also.... action sits in a Hogue stock... scope is a tasco
Awesome
I had that same gun with laminate stock in 300 WIN mag very accurate gun
sighting in a rifle, 'sure problem' comes to mind every time lol, a fun inconvenience
The stock on this Mark II is the twin of my 308 Gunsite Scout Rifle... Well, except my scout has spacers to adjust length of pull. I love it! The trigger was a little "gritty" when new. Now, after about 500-700 rounds and thousands of dry fires, the trigger is as smooth as butter and the break is like that legendary glass rod. I'd love to have the same rifle in 300 WM and .22 LR. Cheers!
Great Gun... good Ammo... That's a fantastic gun. Great Video
"Sure problem, no thing!" 😁 my new saying👍
I have an original M77 in 300WM and LOVE that rifle. Excellent trigger (about 4 lbs, but super crisp and no take up), and equally great action. She used to do 3/4” groups with factory ammo, but she’s starting to open up. May be time for a new barrel. Worth it to me though. Can’t speak highly enough of these rifles.
i had the same problem, try getting a copper bore cleaner, it worked for my 40 year old m77. shoots good as new. 1 inch groups...270 win
That's one sweet looking rifle
300 win mag is super easy to get near me my local store has several brands and lots of boxes of it the don’t sell online but I can get some prices if your looking for some
I bought one new about 17 years ago or so in 30-06 left hand. Most consistent rifle I've ever owned. Worst its ever shot is just over 2 inches at 100 yards. Shoots most every thing into 1.5 inches. Loads it really likes an honest 1 inch. I put a Timney trigger in mine . The last centerfire rifle I'll ever get rid of. I agree with you, if someone can find one at a decent price they should jump on it. Only bad thing I can think of is it could use some checkering.
Slick setup sir love it.
Thanks for watching Justin
Love these rifles i have a ruger m77 hawkeye magnum hunter and its a fine rifle
Beeeeautiful gun 300wm is a nice cartridge love to see that thing and your 25-06 do some side by side shooting
I have one of those. Chambered in 30-06. Great gun. Thanks for the video.
Awesome!
I sure like the wood stock on that.
Me too
I love my MK2 in a 7mag I bought some 40+ yrs ago. It is an incredibly accurate, rugged rifle. I also have an old 30-06 that’s over 70 years old that is as accurate as the 7 to 300+ yrds.
Been shooting a 300 win mag since I was 10, maybe thats why I'm a recoil junkie
My very first rifle was given to me as a graduation gift as it was what I got my first deer with years and years prior. (.243) I’ll never get rid of it. I have another m77 in 7mm mag. Best looking/ shooting rifles in my opinion
That looks like a real good quality thunder stick, a nice thunder stick! Nice sight-in job!
My son has one these rifles in 300 win mag awesome rifle he killed two bucks in one shot it went through one then the other .
Love my Ruger M77
That's what my left handed 77 looks like when I hold it up to a mirror.
Lol.😂😂👍👍
😆😆👍
That is a beautiful piece of machinery right there. I'm officially jealous..
I love my M77 Mk II …been very good to me
Another ruger I like is the ruger scout rifle.
I have a few MII Rugers, 243, 308, 350RM, all are wonderful shooters, I choose to put Boyd’s thumbhole stocks on them, simply amazing rifles!
i have a ruger M77 MKII target that i have been using for over 30 years most of that for comp shooting been very happy with it on its 12th barrel now think i have put something like 67000 round through it all up about 6000 per barrel
edit was 670000 to 67000 one to many 0's
That's one Beautiful rifle , Sir.
I have it in 243 varmint absolutely love it tack driver smooth action all the way around
Another rifle I used to own had 7mm ultra mag and ruger m77 mark 2 with the Skelton stock in just 7 rem mag
💪💪
Nice rifle. You’ve been through a lot of calibers and we appreciate your efforts. Time to hit those 40 calibers, like the 416’s. You’ll get a bang out of them.
I've had two MkII and could never get themto shoot that well. Good job.
One was a 223 and the other a 257 Roberts. I traded a lot for the 257; on occasions, Ruger was not very particular about the bore quality of their rifles. I had a '76 M77 that shot like a target rifle; shot the bore out over 12 years of hot 22 250; ;can't complain on that one.
Excellent video as usual. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Great shots Man congratulations
Thanks for watching
I love those Ruger M77 rifles. It was crazy smart for Ruger to go to investment casting of those actions.
I had one of those rifles (same caliber). I settled on that same kind of ammo. I got 3/4 inch groups at 275 yards. Got 5 deer with 5 shots over 2 years.
Awesome 🦌🦌🦌
Ruger makes high quality American firearms for reasonable prices. Great company. They are Great Americans. (And, so are you, WTW!)
I have a MKII in 30.06. Got it very cheap. Absolutely love it
One of the best rifles ever made my dad has a m77 mk1 in 7 mag I’m wanting to get a mk2 in 270 or 308
LOVE the Ruger M77 line. Top quality! Hope to own one some day. Love how you sight in your rifles. Simple but effective. Keep em coming please.
Thanks for watching Rich
My dad's got 2 ruger mk 2s and they are tack drivers I love them looking in to getting me one eventually in 30-06
I love em
@@WHOTEEWHO your crazy if you don't lol
Idc if the gun is 200 dollars or 2000 they always seem to shoot great in this mans hands!
That's a lotta gun for whitetails, but covers all the other big game nicely. good shooting. nice to have the lead sled for sight in.
I wouldn't call 25 caliber a Lotta gun for whitetails 🤔
@@WHOTEEWHO Sorry, thought you were sighting in a 300WM. My bad.
@@easttexan2933 ahhhh nevermind! This was a 300wm video. Yup you are right!
Those Ruger Mk11's and Hawkeye's are like hen's teeth. The 300 Win Mag (and the 300WSM) is a great calibre especially if you hand load. Very accurate I find. Thanks for making the video and thanks for sharing!
Nice looking rifle! 🇺🇸 wish they didn’t cost two arms and a leg now days.
Took me a while, but there it was in the local gun shop. A heavy barrel .243. $750. Turned out to be a the mk2 target, heavy barrel and laminated stock with wide for end , target trigger....bought a good selection of ammo the very day they were pulling it off the shelf at walmart before the election. Box of 20 243win for less than $20 bucks.....I wish i could have bought all they had.....
Whoa
Beautiful rifle. Always loved the laminated stocks on those!!
I love it
Nice shooting and a nice rifle
Must have been made in the mid 90's I have a 10-22 international made about the same time that has a similar stock.
