Good points! Thank you for this. New subscriber right here 💯
Much appreciated! 🫶🏽🤙🏽
Thanks for the video! I'm in the market for a power meter, and the Precision 3 is on my shortlist since the price is right. I do recommend that you reach out to 4iiii as they have a great warranty. They might give you some tips for better accuracy, too. Also, did you zero offset/calibrate your cranks before you ride?
Thank you! Lol I’ve been lazy about it as the issue has been non-existent now since I switched off the built-in cadence sensor. But I’ll keep that recommendation in the back burner if I encounter any more issues 👍🏽
And yes, I always zero offset my cranks every time right before I ride 😄
Is anyone using a gen 3 on a trek checkpoint sl?
Let's Go Vegas! Where do you ride at? I ride Blue diamond towards Pahrump and back. I live in Mtn. Edge. Thank you for the information, I'm looking at purchasing a power meter myself
Glad I was able to help my guy! My go-to route is at the 215 West Beltway trail (that’s where I was riding too in this video).
I haven’t tried riding in that part of the city yet but I’ll definitely try it as I get better and gain more experience!
I would bet these problems are caused by the powerlines above the trail. When I am on the River Mountain loop trail (where the Hoover Dam powerlines are), my wireless speedometer sometimes stops working.
Could be!
I don't feel like spending $1000 Canadian on Favero Assioma, plus I am so used to my perfectly functioning Look Keo Blade pedals. The spring mechanism on the Assioma just looks like a downgrade to me. Therefore, I am really interested in Precision 3. Light enough, cheap enough, and from a company that has a pretty good reputation from the past. I mean I don't need micro accuracy, I just need the data being not crazily inaccurate. If it does its job for the money (which Shimano OEM one still doesn't it seems like..), I am gonna pull my trigger. I saw 4iiii had constantly been doing the firmware updates and stuff, which makes many reviews out there being less updated. I am wondering whether the cadence problem has been solved? Thanks!
Yup I’m with you on that one Jerry! And on the cadence sensor issue, I honestly haven’t checked since I’ve been using my DuoTrap for that. I will try soon though and let you know if the problem still persists.
Naks may cameo 😁
Haha! Hello bro 😆
Nice video and good job. It seems like you would benefit from narrower handlebars.
I’ve noticed that too and it’s gonna be my next upgrade for sure. Thanks for watching!
We're you able to resolve the issue with the cadence sir? How's the performance so far since posting this video?
It’s been good for me since the firmware update. I recently got an indoor trainer (Zwift Hub One) and they give me similar readings on my power output 👍🏽
@@denandstuff Ah okay. How about sir the issue with the built-in cadence sensor? Were you able to have that resolved by a firmware update?
@@noobfretter yes the cadence sensor has also been working well for me 👍🏽
@@denandstuff good to know sir. salamat po!
@@noobfretter anytime! 😄
Any more problem sir? Been hearing bad reviews
I have not encountered any more issues so far 😄
@@denandstuff thank you very much! looking forward to mine.
@@flipooh happy I was able to help! 😄
I habe a feeling this is a Design flaw. The way the power meter works is by measuring the crank arm deformation, caused by putting power through them.
I saw that you were not pedalling, going quite fast on a road that wasn’t very smooth. I think that those factors are causing the crank arms to deform and register power.
Your cadence sensor won’t have that problem as it’s only based on an accelerometer.
It’s possible the accelerometer in your device is defective, but if this only happens at high speed while freewheeling, I’m not sure if it’s a defect.
My major gripe is that the bloody thing doesn’t work at all. It’s utterly useless - won’t register power despite reseting and recalibrating regularly. It’s junk
Sorry about your terrible experience bro 🥴
