My dad lives alone, since my mom passed away suddenly. And I go over to clean for him since he cant be around a lot of cleaning products. But the fridge he had was from when we moved into the home in 1983. It still ran fine, nothing was wrong with it, but the metal coils on the bottom were so hard to clean and they would collect so much dust. Just impossible to clean. So I went with him fridge shopping and we told the lady about his 1983 fridge and she said, you wont find another one like it, because they dont make them to last anymore. What a shame. But he is very happy with what he picked out and it uses much less energy!
This might seem crazy to you all, but question, Are you gays not ever going Dumpster diving anymore? I miss it a lot, was so much fun watching you.

Very nice. It always hurts to spend so much money on an appliance but its absolutley necessary.
Yes!!! Our old one was totaled price wise! 🙈 The part cost nearly as much as a new fridge 😭

If you don't have one, whenever it rains a lot here, we will lose power so I bought a special surge protector for refrigerator that you plug in between the receptacle and your fridge. It won't turn on when the electric comes back on but rather it slowly times up for about 3-5 min and then turns on so it won't damage the fridge. Got it CHEAP on Temu, same unit as sold on Amazon love mine!! Lost power this last storm and it worked perfectly. I also had bought several of the battery operated lamps for camping they're tiny and very bright. Had those ready to go too. I live in NW Los Angeles. FYI I found a gem of a repair guy, he refused to sell me a new part saying it wasn't ready yet... gave me a quote only like $400 for if/when the compressor goes this fridge started in 2006!! It had trouble last summer I had to unplug replug to trigger it to turn back on then it was fine but I expect either the temp regulator or the compressor may be going I will probably have it replaced and keep the fridge I love it and it's all I need. So you might be able to keep this going 11 yrs or so down the road. Mine is 18 yrs old now~ it had a new part for the fan put in for minimal amount. I love cleaning it with that Invisible Shield cleaner works great.

Woe I am 70 years old and I remember it took about 3 or 4 guys to put in a new fridge!! But as you said they don't make them like they use to wishing you all the best that one looks really nice.😊❤

That is one awsome frdg. I had to replace ours a few years ago. On sale it was 1,200.00 i love it but, this one is really nice. I like that the ice and water are not out on the front. Ours is inside as well, not as nice as this one but i didn't want them outside because we had two dogs that love ice. I didn't want them getting their own ice all the time. Lol😅😅
I'm sorry about your old friend the fridge, but I am glad you got a very nice new one! I hope it lasts for a long time but like you said the new ones do not last as long as the older ones we are used to. And the cost of new ones are crazy expensive! I know because a while back I also had to buy one.
It's sad how long things last now days, our fridge lasted 21 years, when it died and got a new one, the sales person laughed and said " good luck on this one, there only designed to last 5 years, 10 at the most if your lucky"
Sorry your refrigerator is gone, but I like the new one. I am curious if you travel in your vehicle to different states in the United States? It popped in my head today and had to ask. When my second husband and I were younger we went up and down the East Coast except Maine. Went to Canada it was beautiful traveling all over the country. We went to California Orange County and all over California my husband was born in Long Beach California. He took me everywhere to show me where he lived at various times in his life. I've known Steve's bday for 40 +years...We went to high school together and were next door neighbors. *smiles *
It's always something, right? My brother just had to replace their range, the washer and their outdoor grill. All in the span of two weeks. Look out for the rain coming your way! Glad to see you guys doing so well. Give Puddy a hug for me. Take care.

I got lucky when mine froze like that. It was a just a loose connection. I noticed it when I thawed the ice with a blow dryer. Be gotten two more years out it so far.

To clean your fridge doors on the outside I use rubbing alcohol on a cloth! It takes all the finger prints off!!

We've been having problems with our microwave. If you open your microwave door & the light isn't on it won't work. So I looked up video's on how to fix it & between my husband & I we took the control panel off & fixed it ourselves. Beautiful fridge though

Yes you are so right refrigerators a bout thay refrigerators and many other things now days don't last long like they did back in the days one thing I've noticed is they rusted really fast still a nice fridge.

I’ve read a number of people saying to stay away from this brand. We need a new frig but not sure what brand or where to buy it.

The old one could have definitely been fixed. Was probably just the defrost heater or thermostat....at most the control board. We run an appliance repair company and see it all the time... unfortunately that new samsung one will not last. Samsung makes horrible appliances. So does LG.
So frustrating, Seems like they are doing it on purpose.
We called a repairman to fix ours but made it clear we wanted a quote only. He provided the quote and we said we needed to think about it. The freezer section was still working, but he decided to reach around and cut the water line! Watched him do it! Our word against his...we got nowhere with the company. We will never, ever call a repairman out to fix anything again.

Sorry to say but Samsung are the worst appliances that you can buy don't be surprised if your ice Maker goes out within the first year and they can never fix it or give you a warranty on any new parts cause they usually don't I know all this because I work at a plant's repair store and we never ever recommend Samsung products I hope it works for you but I don't think it will
