Awesome videos !!! Tip: Park the bike leaning away from the tent just in case the kick stand sink in the soft ground and the bike fall on you while you are sleeping !!!
Keep up the good work, Eric. Publishing while riding can be more pressure than you need... But I'll watch everything you put out. Just get over the passes in Colorado before the snow!
I’m watching all your vids of the TAT. I recently got hit by a drunk driver on my motorcycle and totaled it. Waiting to heal up and for insurance to settle before I can ride again. This video inspired me to do the same trip but west to east!
Sorry to hear that bro, I'm glad my videos inspire you! You can totally do this trip west to east! And my favorite part is that you're mostly alone, no other cars, or people. Just you, the bike and some beautiful, empty roads!
Eric on the Virginia section you rode through my neck of the woods. I recognize several of the roads your were on. That is the Sinking Creek covered bridge. I’m enjoying your videos. Thanks.
Eric, very well done. I just stumbled across your video. Looks like a great trip. Wish I was doing that. I liked the train ride. Have safe travels. Will be watching more.
Im quite surprised to see quality footage like this on such a small channel - very interesting to follow your adventure heading West. Greetings from the other side of the pond, ride safe
Awesome! Just did the same in June! Took a pic at your campsite creek with a bridge! Great riding! Enjoy and give a shout if you need any pointers. All the best
Great stuff, 3 of user started in Damascus, Va and got to about half way across Tenn in the 7 days we had. We did a mix of Sam and Kevin's maps using mostly Sam's but Kevin's from Maggie Valley to the Tail of the Dragon.
Awesome vid & great editing. And the route looks great; I think I may tee that up for next Spring. I did the TNJT this past June 2021 on a KLR650 but I basically made the route by hand ... it sure will be nice to use the Sam's TAT route for that portion of VA! I'd probably run his route South to North, and then make my own to get back to DC. Yeehaw!
Erick, I’m no expert but I think the vlogs you have done are fun and interesting to watch. Have you ever watched “Buckabroad” cycle trip through South America. But put together vlogs similar to yours. Interesting to watch
I would love to do this worked all my life but still more in likely wouldn't be able to afford it. 2020 and will be 62 but have been riding all my life I just wish I could do this but most of the rides i do by myself not a lot of friends that ride I use to ride a lot in AZ by myself and now in NY I do the same .
Thanks for the great videos. I’m planning to do most of the TAT later this year, so these provide both good advice and inspiration. Did you use Sam's or Kevin's maps?
New subscriber. Just found the channel while searching TAT videos. Great job and thanks for sharing. Did you find your Badlands was vented enough to be comfortable in the warmer weather? Thx Mike
Honestly no. It was not suitable for the southern heat/humidity. Plus the fact that on these kinds of roads you average 20-40mph rather than highway speeds. I wished I had my Klim induction from GA-OK.
@@DaddyEric222 Thx for the info. I was actually considering the Induction for summer riding. Or possibly the Latitude for an all arounder. Decisions, decisions. LOL. Really enjoy the channel. Thx again for sharing.
Watching this in winter 2021 in Salt Lake City, I'm freakin' out man! I'm having withdrawls. UCF grad? Congrats! For us normies, UCF stands for U Can't Finish... they thrive on red tape and beaurocracy.
Yep whole thing, if you have a really good friend to go on it with you, do it! I didn't have any friends able to do a trip like this, so I went on my own! it was quite the self journey!
Eric Fling Thanks! Was it good enough for you? I got myself TAT maps, but I’m cheap to buy 300-500$ garmin. I’ll take 1/2 of TAT(I’m leaving on my Drz400s from Chicago). And, again, thanks for reply!
The coolest video...very inspiring. Very seriousely thinking of following your steps. Please stay safe. God bless.
I’ll be doing this next fall I can’t wait and appreciate the videos and information you offer.
Nice video, Again it was a pleasure to meet you, drive safe, enjoy the TAT.
Beautiful way to see the country.
Awesome videos !!! Tip: Park the bike leaning away from the tent just in case the kick stand sink in the soft ground and the bike fall on you while you are sleeping !!!
that would suck!
Appreciate the tip.

Just want to tell ya this entire series was an awesome tat documentary dude!!!

11:00 that was Paul, right?
Funny, I met him somewhere around Colorado mid august. He was heading east on the TAT. Cool guy
Ya Paul was awesome! He was on quite the world tour
Awesome video, I look forward to watching you complete the journey. I look forward to starting next fall.
Im quite surprised to see quality footage like this on such a small channel - very interesting to follow your adventure heading West. Greetings from the other side of the pond, ride safe
Thank you! I am actually a freelance videographer so that helps with the quality. Hoping to grow the channel as fast as I can!
Awesome! Just did the same in June! Took a pic at your campsite creek with a bridge! Great riding! Enjoy and give a shout if you need any pointers. All the best
Your videos are making me want to get another 650L. Great job, man. Not sure how anyone can dislike these videos and editing.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you liked it!
Huh I never knew you could bring a bike on the Amtrak. Learn something new every day!
Only on the Amtrak Auto. And it only has one route, from Orlando to DC.
Great stuff, 3 of user started in Damascus, Va and got to about half way across Tenn in the 7 days we had. We did a mix of Sam and Kevin's maps using mostly Sam's but Kevin's from Maggie Valley to the Tail of the Dragon.
Loved the ducks. Virginia and North Carolina r great , but u should try to get into West Virginia.

Awesome idea! Enjoy the adventure!!
Good for you on the travelling youre doing. Looks awesome.
Great trip, Eric.
I'm 55 and just now hearing of the TAT I'm gonna do it sometime before I die wish I heard about it when I was younger though
Let's go
@@alabaster4263 I have a lot to do before I can do it right now my only motorcycle is a Honda vtx 1800
Same here, recently turned 57, just hear about TAT. Need to get me an ADV or dirt bike, would love to do it before I die!
I’m 61 and doing it this year.
Great Vid. Looking for a Used XR now...may have to buy new. And Im ok with that.
You deserve way more subs... great content. But where the heck is the last Alaska video?
Rewatching this series again for the third time. I have an 08 XR650L and I am wondering what mirrors you are running.
If you have a bag, paracord and a carabiner to put any food in along with toiletries, look up and use the " PCT method " to hang your bag

Nice trail dude it will be much better with a partner. I have xr650l 2007
Awesome enjoy!
Halfway into the video i got so confused, i thought i had one of Noraly (Itchy boots) video open in a different tab.
Same feeling. UA-cam "free" music tracks :))
@@terencemalik6415 haha defenetly
15:00 Back of the Dragon, rt 16. The Kudzu gives that spot away.
Great job so far I am hoping to do the TAT next year, where was that bridge out at?
It was super easy to get around, don't worry about it
Thanks bro for the fantastic series, where do you do the nature’s call while camping nowhere?
Use your imagination!
Manual recomends 22 psi on xr650l for regular riding hard pack and street
Thanks, that is really where it felt best.
Depends on tires
Which maps and GPS product did you use?
Looks like lots of fun, ill have to try that section some time, what year is ur xr?
2012

I'm gearing up to go on the TAT with my son, 15 yrs old, and I was curious about whose maps you used, gpskevin or Sam Carrera?
Sam has the most up to date and best maps! Buy the gps files and paper maps. I wished I had bought the paper maps.
Thanks for the great videos. I’m planning to do most of the TAT later this year, so these provide both good advice and inspiration. Did you use Sam's or Kevin's maps?
Sams maps, Thanks for watching!

They sure do, all the colleges... Glad I'm out and done. Would not do it again 😂
Go knights!!!
HunterSkiff Charge On!!
Dude, did you do this thing alone? Does anyone recommend AGAINST doing it alone?
Yep whole thing, if you have a really good friend to go on it with you, do it! I didn't have any friends able to do a trip like this, so I went on my own! it was quite the self journey!
@@DaddyEric222 Yea, I dont.
Hello there! What kind of navigation did you use? You had an app on your phone, cam you tell more about it? Any turn by turn directions? Thanks!
MotionX GPS is the iPhone app. No turn by turn, just a red line and an arrow representing your location. You can download the maps for offline use.
Eric Fling Thanks! Was it good enough for you? I got myself TAT maps, but I’m cheap to buy 300-500$ garmin. I’ll take 1/2 of TAT(I’m leaving on my Drz400s from Chicago). And, again, thanks for reply!
@@tryharder3214 Plenty of turn arounds, but overall very good! I would recommend MotionX GPS app to anyone doing this. As the cheap way of course*
Second TAT video that has shown spiders and i know its impossible to go without them but god they suck
do you still have your v-strom? looks like not to bad a road so far. Could have brought your gf with you.
