I had the good luck to see this inside years back, as a coach party arrived they opened up this bunker so we got access. The volunteers have done so much and improved it even more, full of admiration! Telling the story of a grim time in the island’s history, fairly and factually.

Great video, say, are you really tall or are the spaces very short in the bunkers? I noticed you had to stoop to get around, being tall I'm wondering... Thanks!

You need to update when this is actually open, or how to access a tour, I went to Jersey specifically over a weekend because Google says these are open on Sundays 10 - 4. No one I spoke to had any idea of whom to contact ! Why is this not open on a daily basis like the War Tunnels?

The German pronunciation is "Lortring'n" It's the German name for what is now the French region of Lorraine.

I'd love to know why these constructions are all over the island. Why would you spend so much money and time on all this? What was so important about this Island that it required such heavy defences?

So what exactly were they supposed to be defending here exactly? I've always wondered about that.

the Channel Islands was part of the Atlantik wall. it was to help defend the French coast. not forgetting the significance of them being British soil and used as propaganda.

@@jeanlongsden1696 You are not making any logical sense. Surely the allies heading to France would just wouldn't cross in thatarea. Why would they choose to go within range and sight of these bunkers if they had no need to.

@@F4Insight-uq6nt look up the WWII Commonwealth graves in the Channel Islands and then do your own research from there.
