- Welcome to one of the best rom hack remakes that has ever been made. Gs Chronicles, this game takes the story of pokemon heartgold and soulsilver and puts it's own twist on it by giving it new story elements and mega evolutions which look amazing. It also comes with a lot of quality of life improvements and that's always nice. In this video i will be playing as Silver the son of giovanni so let's see how he stands up with against team rocket with his new mega feraligatr.

Just a heads up to anyone playing this game. You can technically ignore the rocket plot line and go straight for the 8th gym, however if you do this it will cause some kind of bug that doesn't end the rocket event when you finish it so you'll be blocked from completing the game. So always do the rocket event before the 8th gym

Thanks to this video, I now realized that a LOT of the Johto Gym Leaders never actually had much, if any, Johto Pokemon. Wow.

To be fair to GSC games, Johto was really just Kanto DLC. Hurts to say since I am admittedly a Gen 2 fan boy
Yep. Of the 23 individual Pokémon that the 8 gym leaders use, only 4 are from Johto: Whitney’s Miltank, Jasmine’s Steelix, Pryce’s Piloswine, and Clair’s Kingdra. And on top of that, Steelix and Kingdra were added as final evolutions of Kanto Pokémon.

I blame the fact that a lot of Johto pokemon take a while to appear in the wild

He's the reason why steel type was nerfed in gen 7 after all... to much damage with tough claws and acess to meteor mash to boost attack and priority move in bullet punch.

Actually Silver later on does catches Ho-Oh. Pokemon Masters have a storyline where Ho-Oh chooses him as his trainer
Pokemon master is just different timelines [fan service] since theres so many different possibilites

The story is kind of the same as in the Pokemon manga, that's pretty cool tbh

I really don't get why Gamefreak doesn't hire any of the Manga writers for the creation of the main games. They just refuse to hire anyone past the age of 5 to write the entirety of their games for some reason.

@@rodystam3519 Tama Hero actually did an amazing video covering the real-life inspiration of Team Aqua and Magma. It is actually a super compelling tale about environmentalism and local communities trying to protect a historic way of life, versus government forward planning trying to assure their citizens a stable supply of food.
But again a 5-year-old reinterpreted those events into what we got in Hoenn.
But the story was nothing like the Pokémon manga though? I really liked the main villain of the gold/silver arc in the manga, where it really deviated from the source material and involved celebi and stuff, and there was none of that here.
I love the Gym leaders vs. Admin scene it reminds me of black and white when all the gym leaders fought the team plasmas leaders and it was just so nostalgic

Using ice beam on Weavile is why it didn’t do well, ice punch or ice shard for its attack stat is what you want

Dude! I love Weavile's redemption arc! It's almost like it's been sad the whole journey because it wasn't much of a help for your team. It always gets taken down even when the matchup is to its advantage. Then, when it came to your last and most important battle, your whole team has been taken out except Weavile. You have no one else to lean on to, so you put your whole trust in it. Your rival's strongest pokemon vs it, considered to be your weakest. Weavile couldn't help but step back in fright and look back at you, seeking to surrender. But you look back with your eyes full of certainty that this battle is yours to win. Weavile felt your trust and will to win this battle. Weavile's nervousness and insecurities dissipate and it decided not to lose this battle no matter what. Your opponent tried to overwhelm you with speed and power but Weavile dodged any attack thrown to it with grace while hitting it with an attack of its own, determined not to let you down. "Another Night Slash!" you yelled. Weavile attacks with all its might, exerting pressure on the opponent with its gazing eyes filled with determination, causing Kris, your rival, to blunder and make mistakes disrupting her and her pokemon's coordination while yours and Weavile's only strengthened. With no room for any counterattacks, the behemoth, Mega Metagross goes down to one final Night Slash with Weavile completely ungrazed. It's so epic!

I was having a great time doing a randomizer Nuzlocke of this game. And then I ran into a softlock in Olivine City. After talking with Jasmine to start the gym battle, the screen cuts to black, and none of my key presses give a response.
Can't believe i just watch a 40:52 minutes video of a complete stranger. The Johto region is my favorite in the franchise, i have a lot of nostalgia from Pokemon Gold (GbC). Your narration, and the story was super cool, definitely what make me stay to the end.

I just needed to see some stuff to understand that I NEED to play this, after all Soul Silver and Hearth Gold are in my opinion the best Pokèmon Games in terms of activities to do hands down. Thansk to you man for bringing us such high quality content
They have good concept but it got absolutely shitted on by lazy gamefreak who didn't improve the garbage problems which is why hg ss are known as the worst. But honestly gs cronicals is so good I played through it twice
Try storm silver rom hack. It'd way harder than this with gym leaders having 6 pokemoms and kanto region is available after the elite four

Note for your next HC run: Overleveling in battle doesn’t mean it can’t be used. You can even cheese this rule if you want to.

When I see all those crazy good hacks, there's only one thing missing for me: the black/white full body sprites. If only there was a way to add them...man, that would be a dream come true.
I finished this in a day and let me tell you, Ambipom is a literal god. He can sweep teams fast bc of his high attack and speed. Specially with power-up punch (a tm you can teach Ambipom.)

@@s-wo8781 sorry I don't. I don't really do roms. CC is the only one I've ever played as I have my old games and gameboys. I have red, blue, yellow, gold, silver, crystal, ruby, sapphire, and the gen 2 and 3 remakes.

Cyndaquil is the cutest. Chikorita is fabulous. Todadile is a goofy looking great ball themed lizard.
I have forever loved that line since Mr. Stake turned out to be unkillable. I watched that damn thing live a crit ice beam from a Starmie on 4HP, snap out of confusion, and kill the Starmie with its stand (Furenzy Puranto)

ice beam on weavile is just bad , imagine using a ice punch and ice shard , weavile is a pretty good pokemon
Zwiggo always severely lacked pokemon knowledge and doesn’t bother to put in the effort to build proper teams because he bum rushes content out. Look at how he whined in his Radical Red Normal-type challenge, tells u everything u need to know. Sometimes poketubers just need to come off their high horse, take the time to understand the game they are currently playing and actually read up on stuff, and runs can be so much more smoother and be actually interesting for us the viewers to watch.

maginum was UUBL in gen 2 because of it's unpredictablty in it's set between the defencive screen setting set and the offencive Swords dance set tied with typhlosion and higher tier than feraligator

The Rocket admins are named after actual rockets.

I find chikorita and bayleef's design to be cute but I don't like meganium. The leaf on the head was the most iconic part of chikorita and the coolest part of bayleef but they just have to removed it on meganium for some reason.

Weaville redemption at the very last fight. Dying in one hit every other fight, but for the last fight it avoided all the attacks and won.
