Clark Atlanta University should develop and implement a music business program in the name of Rico Wade. That would be honorable.

He owns damned near all of his artists.
???¿
@@3MUnique Not anymore. Atlantic Records/UMG owns Bad Boys masters/catalog. Puff hasn't owned that catalog since early 2010's. Only masters he owns are his own albums.
You say that now. Ppl tend to switch up once big names pass on. Trust.
R I P RICO WADE 💯 LEGEND 🙏🏽
Rico Wade, Ray Murray, and Sleepy Brown. ORGANIZED NOIZE. One of the greatest production teams EVER.
A lot of our “brothers” would sell us out for $20 yet alone 20 million
That's a human trait, how do you think all the crooks became billionaires? Stop blaming our people for things all humans do and have done.. or either you need to change your environment..
This what you called loyalty n INTEGRITY!
#REPOST
I'm from Mississippi and I can remember talking to Rico in Lenox Mall one day about a keyboard that I just bought. This was in 1996 and Waterfalls was a top record at the time. I will never forget how cool Rico was to me, because I was like man I'm not going to bore you talking about a keyboard, and Rico was like nah man go ahead and tell me about the keyboard. Then we talked briefly about a deal that Interscope was offering him. Now right before Rico and I started talking , Rico and Bryant Reid (L.A. Reid's brother) were in a conversation and Bryant had just became the president of Black Music at Atlantic, Bryant was talking to Rico about a deal. In the midst of handling official business with a number record at the time, I could not believe how cool Rico was to me.
The second time I ran into Rico was in 1998, I was in Atlanta for about 2-3 months working in Lenox and Rico was in a rush and he left some invitations with me to a private event to give to ODB's sister, and Rico slid me an invitation for myself. I dapped him up and he was out. Fast forward to 2002, I went to L.A. for Labor Day weekend and I met with a major label, and the President of A&R Urban told me if I ran into Rico when I got back to Atlanta make sure that I give him his number. That following Sunday in Atlanta, I would run into Rico at a NFL going back to camp party and he was with Bubba Sparxx, and I was able to deliver the message and phone number from the President of A&R at Virgin Records at the time. Those were my encounters with Rico Wade. RIP My guy...
How many times are you going to paste this story? We get it.
@@arntbauseg.slonesr4585 However many times I feel like posting it. That's how mant times. For the record this is the only repost. Only a cock sucker would be concerned with another man's actions that doesn't concern him. #ObservationOfTheDay

It’s f*cked up that MC Eiht has been putting this much work in the game 4 this long and some1 owns his publishing.
🤣🤣
He still getting money
@@MichaelThePlaya50 I’m sure he’s getting show money and other opportunities but artists should own their publishing. Any1 who didn’t write the material should not be the majority owner.
@@3MUnique Getting royalties from his music and movies.when a movie he was in comes on tv, he gets paid, same with music.. and fck that publishing, too many people died from trying to own anything like that.. you do know Michael Jackson and Prince died trying to retain those things..
@@MichaelThePlaya50 yes, I know Prince and Michael……played the game the way they designed it. When Prince and Michael had the leverage, they were unalived. I’m never gonna say that an artist shouldn’t own his or her own publishing though. We just need 2 be bigger players in owning major labels and play fairly with our artists. That’s it; That’s all.
I wish that they weren't all talking at the same time. I keep rewinding trying my best to pick up the jewels.
I was glad when Steele shifted the conversation back to Gipp. I was saying the exact same thing.
Rest in Peace, Rico! Thank you for everything. May God rest your soul. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾
Every time I listen to Gipp I find myself always clearing my throat.
