@Zombie Well here in England you can pay upwards of £55. I have had good tunics st that price but ... as is true with most things ... if you pay more you generally get better stuff. I paid £89.99 just yesterday for another M40 tunic for a new Wehrmacht unit I've joined as those guys said it's superior to my usual supplier so I'll have to wait until it gets here to judge. But that price you say in the USA seems right for a good quality item.

I've heard Military Harbor actually sells really good reproduction uniforms, maybe not the leather field equipment but the garbs themselves are good quality.
I buy from mainly at the front, my tunic is a Nestof M40 and probably my best quality tunic and IMA I buy a few things from I really do mainly suggest ATF for buying your stuff, pants, gear, helmet, and right now there current run of boots are pretty good and is what some people in my unit use Another thing is I really suggest getting in a unit first then buying so you don’t need to buy twice, I can’t recommend this enough
Gavin, has the best made tunics in my opinion i mean i've used gavin for years and its always been my favourite tunic-making company. the quality is decent and durability is really nice considering the reenactments in the UK, are always wet muddy & etc, they've always been really easy to wash & sewing is like a dream the woolen texture is so easy to put the needle through.

Given nobody had the courtesy to respond, there is a distinct difference between the 2. M37's are a stone grey colour, whereas the M40 is the same field grey as the associated M40 tunic. Though you've likely found out since, thought it best
I think they're pretty close. I have a M40 tunic and M37 trousers from Gavin. The M40 tunic might be a tad more green, but honestly they're pretty darn close
I've been casually getting into WW2 German to do Blue Division. ATF comes highly recommended, but they seem to be continually out of stock, going back to several years ago (pre COVID) when I was thinking of doing US WW2. I hit 'em up recently (6/24) and, yep, a lot of "Sold Out" on German tunics except for odd sizes like 'small/short'. I had people say Military Harbour, a Chinese outfit, is good. I'm currently waiting on my German HBT tunic & pants from them. They made 'em in a week & a half, but delivery might take a month. By the by I had bought a pair of German wool pants from Man the Line which seemed good, but their jackets are weirdly sized, bouncing from 44 for M, to 48 for L. When I asked them if that was correct ("No size 46??" ie one size up from what I wear) they confirmed: No size 46. So I sent the pants back. Glad I'm not in a rush to build the overall kit, lol. And that's the view from this reporter.

If your into reenacting then maybe you should invest into more expensive higher quality shops since i heard hiki's tunics arent going to stand too well with the elements, but if your just a casual history fan like me, then hikis are the good enough,
Hey. As far as I know the number got reduced from 6 buttons to 5 buttons to save materials during wartime. Much like all the other changes they made from better to worse were because of wool shortages.

How do the tunics fit you? I got my m36 from Kelley's and it fits well but when prone it's a bit tight on the shoulders and elbows. Should I just get a bigger one or is there a repro one that fits better. I hear that extremely hight quality ones and original ones have a wider cut on the top and bottom part but they are very expensive.

@@worldwarguy459 The only complaint I have with Epic Militaria is that when I selected standard airmail for them to ship my last two orders they shipped them both courier. You can get the Sturm M40's there, and their M40 helmet is accurate to the roll, stamps, etc.
A tad late of a response but given I've heard such critic of epic's stuff, despite having used their stuff for awhile now. The tunic itself for my m40 is great, the only gripe was button quality, but after getting replacement buttons and putting them on, its an excellent use, given final cost excluding postage is about £80. For somebody who wants to start out and have a good quality, its fine, don't let people make you feel bad about it

Hunter Sanabia I personally don’t know enough about the historical accuracy for HBT for the German army but I k ow some units allow them to wear. It depends on the unit you are joining.
HBT is acceptable for events after 1942, before it was mainly used as a work uniform. The combat HBT uniforms are almost all of the same cut as M42-M43 tunics. HBT uniforms were worn on every almost every front.
Everywhere you can buy uniforms of Germany or the Red Army of the USSR - Countries that produce Germany , Russia, Belarus , etc . Europe . Everywhere there are reenactors and collectors of airsoft people .

Most German uniforms should NOT be washed in any water, they usually have about 80% wool content with viscose for the rest, it would be best to speak to a dry cleaner for advice. Also, the WW2 experience isn't just in the uniform, it's in the uniform, the kit and personal items, and one of the most important, the weapons. Your best bet is WW2 airsoft.
@Mike Zona You cannot use a live fire rifle in reenactments that are airsoft based, only mixed or live fire only, which the unit I'm in does both airsoft and mixed. In addition, Canada actually has firearms laws, you cannot just go out and buy a firearm, you actually require a license to have one.

Reenactment Days it depends on what time period you plan on doing. The color depends on the manufacture.

The clanking sound is the hobnails at the bottom of the boots.

Remy airsoft don’t do cringe paintball, these will hold up for a while but stains will be its true downfall.
