    After seeing these vids, I wonder why they even SELL EUC without putting it on this hill! They should know by now that they are coming here to be recorded.
    Failures are even mentioned in the descriptions by some of the main wheel distributors. Which could kill sales before getting off the ground! They should RIGOROUSLY be tested here. Especially the "off-road" wheels....
    It should be a bragging right in their sales!
    Like all sports cars do on the Nurburgring... Finishing times should be tracked...🤔

    The one thing that really interests me with these wheels is this.
    We know how wonderful these things perform under normal weight tests, let's say someone who is around your weight, but what if you wanted to carry a full on back pack with all the camping fear weighing half your original weight.
    So let's say you had a back pack on that weight if you are 13 stone let's say 7 stones, carrying something roughly 44 kilos.
    How easy would it be for these wheels to perform their tasks, ie over heating, grip, tire troubles.
    I never see a fat person ride these wheels the best way to simulate that would be with a very heavy back pack, would the wheel over heat fast, would it struggle to climb the hills, would the battery die after only a few miles rather than the 60 miles you get with just your weight.
    No one ever does these kinds of tests and I think they would be extremely valuable to not only fat people but to those who want to use them to go camping or there heavy use.
    Would they stand up to any kind of punishment at all or just fail to function.
    What if you had someone who was heavy to start with but had a heavy back pack on maybe not 44 kilos but maybe 20 kilos, would it work?

Maybe I'm biased because the MSP made it no problem even with a heavier rider. Great test, I just hope the S18 makes it. I personally use this test as a way to determine how much engineering effort went into building a particular machine in terms of stress, which will determine my comfort level when pushing it. You have changed. And I like it. You seem more strict on the wheels. I think now you understand why I been so critical on these companies to make the quality better in these. Ur totally right. If u we’re going 20mph or faster and it overheated u really could have got hurt. At least it didn’t blow up like the Sherman. But man you have balls testing these pre production. U didn’t even do over heat hill it started to get hot even before. Just based on weather. Why is there not a fan in it. And that control board and the wires look to tiny for a wheel like that. Please keep it up. Please keep being strict on these companies to hold them accountable to insure all of our safety. Thank you so much.

      Yes, that is a good point. Failing at such a low threshold doesn't give much assurance it will be safe on a warm day or a longer continuous ride with hills involved. Even if Inmotion claims an improved board has been implemented, might be wise to be sceptical and do the OHH test to see if it won't fail at such a low threshold again. In motion can make promises, but it's your neck on the line if it fails. Very nice work Marty, you're kinda like a heroic guinea pig, doing unpaid work and taking the risks for the rest of us. I was thinking worse case scenario would have been it asking you to step off the wheel like the V10 does when it starts to over heat.. Not blowing up. Maybe a firmware fix can do that. The two problems you have had seem to be able to be fixed by firmware updates. I am okay if the wheel keeps asking me to step off so it can cool down if I am climbing very steep hills in the desert in the middle of summer. Cause well...I will never be climbing steep hills in a desert in the middle of summer ..but if by chance I do please let Inmotion know asking me to step off is okay.

    My mind is blown. Like a title fight that lasts 3 seconds. Made it to the base of OHH! Incredible! You can make the case for the Sherman that it was well beyond what we would expect of that wheel. That in everyday use the Sherman is just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy that wheel because it didn't make OHH. This however is a different story entirely. Like you said, unless they can explain how a different board would prevent this from happening, I would not buy this wheel. You said it would be exciting and well I guess it was. Just not in the way I was hoping. I thought maybe it would equal the MSP.

    You got the wheel to over 170 degrees fairenheit which is hot for something that doesn't have cooling fins and being that you were going so slow there wasn't enough air passage to do any substantial cooling.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  4 роки тому +4

    same things happened to my v12, and it turned out to be the drive board was brunt, I'm surprised how little ppl mention about overheating issues with their wheels, most of the times, you get the info of how great the wheel is, it's not till you actually own one and find out yourself, and then it'll be a bit late, isn't? I think inmotion is just selling their buyers a dream and deliver a nightmare.
