Relatability is on point. But people like following the life with people that are uploading every day. These people moved away from the everyday vlog scene before people moved away from them. Think of people like Emma Chamberlain, Logan Paul before they were doing fancy edits and just putting out a vlog a day. This is what people want. There's a reason why Pewdiepie is the most popular single youtube to ever.
      - People either want normal consistent to follow their life, or crazy budgets like Mr Beast and Dude Perfect. As a youtuber, you can't do both. Most people try to go the "go big or go home way" but don't have the ideas/budget to do it.
      - Mike Thurston is in that middle, if he were to stop with the fancy editing and music and start daily vlogs or even 3 days a week of. He would get a lot more subs of him wandering around dubai/spain. Instead he's trying to be fancy with music/editing and it's oversaturated, getting lost in the shuffle. Mike Thurston is putting an insane effort trying to do collabs and making the whole video about the collabs when he doesn't really have to.
      - Sam Sulak is working smart not hard. While everyone knows he does roids, no one cares and humanizes him for just being normal.

He keeps its simple, educational (by explaining what and why he does an exercise) and no frills, heaps of the young guys see his achievements as attainable (which is my only concern as it’s not without PEDs) which I believe he’s doing a great job by not telling what it is, it’s his business.

Sams videos are like comfort watching, which in part is why they are so popular. It's like people who like to watch the same shows or movies they have already seen before for comfort.
With Sam's videos you know exactly what you are getting before clicking on the video.
It being more relatable is more the type of thing to motivate people before going to the gym. You can watch sam hit chest for 30 minutes and talk about his thoughts on the movements etc. You know what you're getting
Compare that to the youtube standard where a workout seems to be nothing more than an editing showreel, turn the volume down before getting blasted with overly loud music as you're sped through a few sets from fancy angles and slick editing, then the music stops and they are talking, quick turn the volume back up as i cant hear.. then almost as quick back to loud music slick editing workout montage.
Then cut to post workout meal
    it gets boring
