@1MinuteAnimals…Not sure I agree with you about Cockers, they are lovely dogs but they’re as pretty as they are daft!!! Could you please do Border Terriers? I don’t often see them featured in American vids, though they are extremely popular in the U.K. They are wonderful pets. As they were originally bred as ratters, there are even competitions in the South of Scotland/North of England (the border in their name) where the dogs compete to see who can hang by their mouths from a stick for the longest…weird but true❤️🏴❤️

It’s important to also consider they have weak bladders and tend to pee uncontrollably when excited. 😂
That is a nervous response seen in some American cockers.
The English is a completely different animal.

The American cockers do have this reputation though. The English cocker does not. The American cockers cuteness led to some pretty horrible breeding practices. The temperament and health of the breed suffered.
Many people do not realize that American and English cockers are different breeds.
All of that said though, I agree with your point.
I trained bird dogs for many years and competed in field trials. I was also a judge and have seen quite a few great cockers. All English.

i just lost my cocker spaniel 3 days ago. He lived to 12 and was the best family member a child could have growing up. Not a bad bone in his body, he climbed a mountain last year, u wouldn’t have known he was getting old ❤
12 isn’t long enough. 😢 my sheltie made it to ten bc she was a pure bred dog. (Rescued) but nonetheless had all of the hallmark breeding issues of hip issues, lungs and heart strain. Kills me. I still miss her.

Do the Spanish cocker spaniel. I had one as a kid, never made a bark ever and could eat everything. He was very affectionate and I absolutely loved him. Sadly he died due to complications with epilepsy :(

I had a dog named Jinks, she was a cocker spaniel/ collie mix I think. She was soooo sweet, and loving. Even the stray cats could come lay on her and she'd be their kitty bed.
She was the sweetest mama dog without puppies ever! She just adopted the local kitties, because she was spayed.
Also...sorry for my less somber comment previously... I wasn't thinking clearly, and didn't realize how inappropriate my light hearted comment about "dunkin dunkin" was... I never know how sensitive someone is, and I should be more conscientious.
@@purplerain0517the Dunkin’ dunkin thing is fine. I wasn’t sure what they were called in English. In my language it just translates to spanish springer spaniel which I would assume is the same thing as Spanish cover spaniel because it’s about the same results when I google it in English. But if you really want to see what I mean, goggle “Spanks springel spaniel.”
He was black and white and his name was Fonsi, doesn’t really work in English but it dose in Swedish. Sadly I do not have a visual memory and can not recall a lot of memories due to this because I can only remember facts. Not sure if it was painful when he died or not, my parents are separate and I wasn’t at my dad’s place when he died. He died almost exactly a year after my grandmother, fathers side, died. Almost an exact year later and my dad’s next dog died.

@@jade962 I was only a child when we bought ours, but we bought her from a reputable breeder that specialised in the breed. So, my advice would be to do your research, check reviews etc.
@@joshawott_27 thanks but i didnt wanted to buy i want to adopt and adopting center doesnt know what breed they are too so i guess i will take them to vet first to confirm and then adopt.

I've seen them all being unpredictable even with their owners. One day, they can be all playful and happy, and all of a sudden, they switch to the opposite mood.
I miss my dog Diva .I had her for 13yrs.And she was so smart and special to me.❤😢
I have one in my family called Tyrone. He is 14 and sadly nearing the end of his life. But even though he’s deaf he can still do paw and is very kind loving and affectionate. ❤

I couldn't agree more! My best friend ever in my whole life was Marley my English cocker spaniel, he unfortunately was born out of inbreeding and a puppy farm (don't look it up if you get upset) to which me and my family were oblivious to at the time so he only lived 8 years but he was the bestest friend (besides my partner of course!) I've ever had, you'll never regret having a cocker spaniel! He was so sweet, kind, affectionate and caring, there's nothing quite like an awesome doggo

I had one called Buddy for 11 years and those 11 years passed by in an instant. He gave so much love and so much trust, that’s it’s still impossible to move on from him after nearly 13 years after his death. One of the best, most hassle free dogs I have ever known. Even amongst friends and family, Buddy is considered the best pet anyone has ever owned.
I agree. They're so sweet, well behaved and low maintenance. My Hunny was super chill, never barked and loved her naps/scraps. She was the best dog I could have ever dreamt of. Other than her health issues, she was literally the perfect dog. 😔 I miss her constantly

As a child, my friend had a cocker spaniel. It was sweet & friendly and I loved its curley, wavey caramel fur & beautiful long ears. After that, I wanted one, but all dogs that came to our family were different breeds. However, I learned to love & appreciate them all.
Forgot to mention: “Warning some might come with ATTITUDE”😂 Both of my English cockers have attitude and talk back. They are only sweet when they want something lol

My boy Merlin was an English Cocker Spaniel, I lost him in 2019 at 15 years old ❤😢 he was the cutest, goofiest, most stubborn lil guy. I miss him, and his brother Denver (Collie Mix).
We had one when I was a kid. As youngest in family, every time I went near mum, the damned thing would bite me - he was given away. Now have a sproodle sprinter x poodle, lovely dog

Take note, their long ears tend to pick up awn and thistle and such things, which can lead to disease and inflammation. My cocker spaniel had a lot of ear issues. Eventually, we wrapped her ears around with a cloth and tied it to protect her ears

The first dog I remember my family having was a little black spaniel. She was also completely blind after about a year old. First time hearing what a puppy mill was.
But she was a wonderful dog! Her favorite toy was a little jingle ball that she could play fetch with. One time she got lost in a small field and kept jumping over the tall grass while running back. Every hop her long ears flew up and out with the happiest expression. 😂

We got our first as my wife’s first dog, what a wonderful dog she was! Once she warmed up to you the friendliest dog, loved outdoors and SMART I still recall the days I had to chase her to put her leash on because she knew I wanted to leave the park. We currently have two, brother and sister that are double the enjoyment.

My family rescued a black one named Odie when I was 5 years old, he slept on my lap the whole car ride home. We all joked he was mixed with a bear because he loved food and had huge paws!. Ok... I'll be waiting for mine! Although if I get one the activity level of myself will increase as I'm wanting to get to nature and a lover of it, but never have a reason or opportunity to venture out due to being raised sheltered. So sounds like this pup would be an ideal match. Just have to wait for the house to have wood floors installed before I'm allowed to get another furbaby 😢. But I can't wait!!!
