  • This is just a quick video of me using the Oster Classic 76. In the video I explain what blades I use and some tips and tricks. Please let me know if there is a haircut you want to see. I do women’s and men’s haircuts.

    Thanks. One of the clearest explanations of how to blend on YT.
    Plastic guard to metal blade conversion:
    metal blade 1=plastic 1/2 guard
    metal blade 1A=plastic 1 guard
    metal blade 1 1/2 =plastic 1 1/2 guard
    Summary:
    Start w 4 over all to debulk
    First line 0 up to above ear, progressing 1/2 step in size 1” at a time around scalp in a line
    Metal blades: 0-0A-1-1A-1 1/2 - 2 (or clipper over comb) then finish with thinning shears over comb then water and shears over fingers to blend top in sectors back and forth
    BaByliss gold edgers to clean up edges

    Damn great job, a lot of guys out there are just debulking with the dbc then blending it with the adjustable blade clipper in open and close positions. You did the debulking and fade with just the 76.

      Over time they collect alot of hair inside the clipper. Thats what makes them hot. Open them up and remove all the excess hair inside

      Runnin em dry will make em heat up. use light clipper lube if you arent. Not much, just a drop or 2 max or they will start to colelct hair. There are also some internal lube points in the 76, they come with grease for those.

    Can you do a conversion chart ??? I always confuse my guards I use a 000 and guard over it but the guards “red” don’t have numbers like the wahls

    Nice cut homie, a lil criticism, theres a line on the left side idk if he wears glasses could be from that but overall good cut, i feel like the zero gapped trimmers make hard bald lines but they’re cripsy. Keep grinding

      I appreciate the feedback. I'm not sure what you are seeing. I went back to look and I didn't see any lines. I think maybe it was the lighting. And yes he does wear glasses, could be that.

    Do these work with regular clipper guards too?

    • @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster
      @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster  4 роки тому +1

      No these guards are only made for Oster 76, Oster Octane, Oster Model 10, and can be used on some of the Andis models. When using regular clippers you have to use the plastic guards.

    How are you creating a soft line? are you holding it an angle?

    • @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster
      @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster  4 роки тому +3

      Yes and no. I start flat against the head and as I get to my desired guideline I scoop out just a tiny touch. Just enough that when I go in with the next blade it will seamlessly blend.

    What's the shortest guard? I have the 0000.

    • @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster
      @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster  2 роки тому +1

      There's a "00000" which is the shortest. But to be honest I never use it and I never use the "0000" either. I find using the trimmers after the "000" works better. The idea is not leave more lines. You want a seamless blend. Don't make it harder for yourself.

    How close can you get with it....is it close to a razor?....what's your opinion for self use for a shaver...as close as possible...sometimes I dont want to use a razor...

    • @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster
      @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster  2 роки тому

      If you're referring to the gold trimmer. It gets very close. In fact since I bought mine I never shave any more. The trimmer is made by Babyliss and it's the Gold FX model.

      @@slvalive I wouldn't use the 76 for beard's. If you want to take weight out or length then I would use a Wahl clipper. Otherwise the trimmer is your best best for a close shave. Afterwards you can use a foil shaver to get rids of any stubble.

      Armando Serrano So what I’m looking for is some clippers that will be good for me to line up my beard and also trim my head down low when I let it grow out before I use a mach 3 razor on my head. I go bald on top but sometimes let it grow out too much to go directly to it with the straight razor. What clippers would u recommend for home use for these two purposes? Thank u so much for time and recommendation.

    • @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster
      @ArmandoSerranothehairmaster  3 роки тому

      I am bald myself. And I also use the Mach 3. In my opinion they are the best quality for the price. If I'm lazy and don't shave, I use my babyliss gold fx trimmers. It gives me that 2 day old shave. They are kind of pricey tho. So you don't have to get those but they are worth it. I use them to line my beard also. But you can use other trimmers that don't cost as much. But I like the babyliss because they are super precise and clean.
