- This is just a quick video of me using the Oster Classic 76. In the video I explain what blades I use and some tips and tricks. Please let me know if there is a haircut you want to see. I do women’s and men’s haircuts.
Thanks. One of the clearest explanations of how to blend on YT.
Plastic guard to metal blade conversion:
metal blade 1=plastic 1/2 guard
metal blade 1A=plastic 1 guard
metal blade 1 1/2 =plastic 1 1/2 guard
Summary:
Start w 4 over all to debulk
First line 0 up to above ear, progressing 1/2 step in size 1” at a time around scalp in a line
Metal blades: 0-0A-1-1A-1 1/2 - 2 (or clipper over comb) then finish with thinning shears over comb then water and shears over fingers to blend top in sectors back and forth
BaByliss gold edgers to clean up edges
Damn great job, a lot of guys out there are just debulking with the dbc then blending it with the adjustable blade clipper in open and close positions. You did the debulking and fade with just the 76.
Thank you. I try to limit my tool use. Saves me time from having to switch back and forth.
Wow! Nice work man please keep it up, thank you for the video I just got a OSTER Classic 76 clipper and can't wait to try it out.
Thank you. That's awesome news. You will love them.
Great job on the hair cut and video..I love the Oster 76, been using them for years..Much easier than using the plastic guards..
Thank you! Yes same here. I love my metals.
Blending with detachables nice that’s awesome
Thanks. It didn't come easy. Many give up and switch back to plastic. But I was determined to figure them out and master it. I don't use anything else now.
Just the video i was looking for. Thanks man. Ima start practicing on my kittle brothers
Practice makes perfect 👍🏾
Great video💯keep up the work
Thank you!
Thank you it assisted me a lot in understanding the blades.
You're Welcome. Glad I can help!
Thank you For your demonstration
You are welcome 😁
Good video, thank you... No loud distracting music to take away from the video😃
NICE!
I'm trying to give myself a line-up with these. Got any tips? Should I buy an actual outliner?
I apologize. I did not see your comment until now. I'm usually on it. But I am confused with your question. What were you trying to use for your line up?
I have the same pair and I feel like they get hot really quickly. How do you keep yours cooled down? Love the cut!!! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Mine don't get hot as quick because I'm a fast cutter. I can cut hair between 13 to 15 minutes depending on the haircut.
Over time they collect alot of hair inside the clipper. Thats what makes them hot. Open them up and remove all the excess hair inside
Hi, use hair clipper cooling spray but before that clean the clipper from excess hair
I've heard of people carrying two of the same blades to switch out the hot with a fresh! also ceramics don't get as hot
Runnin em dry will make em heat up. use light clipper lube if you arent. Not much, just a drop or 2 max or they will start to colelct hair. There are also some internal lube points in the 76, they come with grease for those.
Can you do a conversion chart ??? I always confuse my guards I use a 000 and guard over it but the guards “red” don’t have numbers like the wahls
Sure no problem. I will do that tonight when I get off work.
Nice cut homie, a lil criticism, theres a line on the left side idk if he wears glasses could be from that but overall good cut, i feel like the zero gapped trimmers make hard bald lines but they’re cripsy. Keep grinding
I appreciate the feedback. I'm not sure what you are seeing. I went back to look and I didn't see any lines. I think maybe it was the lighting. And yes he does wear glasses, could be that.
Check out How to perform a hair cut in 6 min. using the oster 76 by Aldo Alvidres...Fast ! but is it good enough for the shop ??

Do these work with regular clipper guards too?
No these guards are only made for Oster 76, Oster Octane, Oster Model 10, and can be used on some of the Andis models. When using regular clippers you have to use the plastic guards.
Can you do a video on a low fade with the detachable clipper, not a skin fade. Starting with a 1 blade at nape. no music please, so we can focus on what you are explaining, thank you
I will see what I can do. 👍🏾
@@ArmandoSerranothehairmaster I have seen all the tutorials on detachable blade fading, and yours is the most simplistic explanation and example.
@@kenhayes3183 I appreciate that. I really tried to keep it very simple. No need to complicate things more.
So a metal 1 is like a 1/2 plastic than a OA blade is like what size...No guard open ??
That is correct 🙂
@@ArmandoSerranothehairmaster Ok, good. ty
How are you creating a soft line? are you holding it an angle?
Yes and no. I start flat against the head and as I get to my desired guideline I scoop out just a tiny touch. Just enough that when I go in with the next blade it will seamlessly blend.
Armando Serrano thank you! will keep that in mind! Great work!
Thank you! And any time!
You should post a taper too! Would really help
@@phillipperezjr.6593 definitely! I will find a model and get that up for you soon.
What's the shortest guard? I have the 0000.
There's a "00000" which is the shortest. But to be honest I never use it and I never use the "0000" either. I find using the trimmers after the "000" works better. The idea is not leave more lines. You want a seamless blend. Don't make it harder for yourself.
How close can you get with it....is it close to a razor?....what's your opinion for self use for a shaver...as close as possible...sometimes I dont want to use a razor...
If you're referring to the gold trimmer. It gets very close. In fact since I bought mine I never shave any more. The trimmer is made by Babyliss and it's the Gold FX model.
@@ArmandoSerranothehairmaster thanks...how about the oyster classic 76...how close can it get..and what size blade? Again...thanks...
@@slvalive I wouldn't use the 76 for beard's. If you want to take weight out or length then I would use a Wahl clipper. Otherwise the trimmer is your best best for a close shave. Afterwards you can use a foil shaver to get rids of any stubble.
Are these better than fast feeds?
Way better. I had the fast feeds and hated them. They kept jamming up on me. I prefer the classic 76 or the oster octane. It just mows hair off with ease.
Armando Serrano Thank you!!!!!
Any time!
Armando Serrano So what I’m looking for is some clippers that will be good for me to line up my beard and also trim my head down low when I let it grow out before I use a mach 3 razor on my head. I go bald on top but sometimes let it grow out too much to go directly to it with the straight razor. What clippers would u recommend for home use for these two purposes? Thank u so much for time and recommendation.
I am bald myself. And I also use the Mach 3. In my opinion they are the best quality for the price. If I'm lazy and don't shave, I use my babyliss gold fx trimmers. It gives me that 2 day old shave. They are kind of pricey tho. So you don't have to get those but they are worth it. I use them to line my beard also. But you can use other trimmers that don't cost as much. But I like the babyliss because they are super precise and clean.
zero gaped?
Yes the trimmers are zero gapped.
What that mean?
Should go lower on the colic part !! But great video!!!
Thanks. My client doesn't like his "cowlick" cut off. And he hated when barber's do that to him.
@@ArmandoSerranothehairmaster thank you for the reply! Great video and I’m sorry if you felt I was calling you out I just thought it would look better!!! But if that’s what he likes then that’s what you gotta give him!!! But great work hermano keep it up!! I’m just learning!!
@@jblancodj All good. Always take what the client wants into consideration. It's my job as the professional to make it look good. But I appreciate your feed back 👍🏾
@@ArmandoSerranothehairmaster much love and respect from Chicago!
Now to practice on actual people.
Practice makes perfect 👌🏾
@@ArmandoSerranothehairmaster yep, doing my first haircut tomorrow. So start off with 000 to make your mark, follow by 0A, and 1?
Yes that is correct. 000, 0A, 1, 1A, 1 ½, 2
@@ArmandoSerranothehairmaster thanks! I will surely practice on my vic-...customers tomorrow.
😂😂😂 Good luck!
