Terrific video. Just 2 small corrections: the nomen of Maximian was Valerius (from the Valeria gens), and the reverse of your antoninianus has TR in the middle field (not gamma-pi, which does not exist), and TR is the mintmark of the Tripolis mint in Phoenicia, that worked a as a branch mint of Antioch. Also I'd like to point out: Arelate was the most travelled mint in the history of the Roman Empire. It was opened by transferring all workers and tools from the Ostia mint, which had been opened by Maxentius, transferring the mint of Carthage. That African mint, in turn, had been created by Maxentius father, Maximian, during his campaign against the Berbers, moving there 3 offices from the mint of Rome. By the way, FANTASTIC Constantius antoninianus, but I think we already talked about that coin!
I just got my first denarius yesterday, and thanks to this wonderful channel, I knew what to look for and scored a denarius of Caracalla for $50 USD. MARTI VLTORI reverse. Thank you Classical Numismatics!
Great content ,new information with each video...My favorite mint of late Roman Empire is actualy Aquileia..because you can only find Fallen Horseman with Chi Rho there 😁

Thenks for the inf 👍👍👍👍👍
What is the cause of the markings being so off center on certain coins? Is that from the minting process or is that due to uneven wearing?
keep in mind everything about the manufacture of these coins was a manual proccess. Off-centered strikes were common
@@ClassicalNumismatics Understandable. Thanks for the response.
i love your videos
I like the Spanish mints like Caesaraugusta and Italica
