Ed Gamble - Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast

Rich finds a woman in the audience who doesn’t seem to know where she is, who he is or understand the concept of remembering. She continues to be bamboozled throughout the show. And perhaps with reason as this chat with pretend aristocrat and real diabetic Ed Gamble takes some odd turns.
In one of the giddiest podcasts for quite some time Richard tries out a lot of new emergency questions which prompt discussions about the sleeping habits of gametes, the dangers of falling into a river, an impression of Buzz Nigeria and whether asking someone if they’re tried sashima is an acceptable question.
A nuclear physicist is on hand to discuss the chemistry of jumping into a pool of something and Ed has to decide if he’d save Rich from crucifixion. There’s also some chat about Mock the Week, Drunk History and how this whole podcast is very much a practice for interviewing a more famous guest. And a quiz about retailers leads to the invention of an exciting new board game. And we see the unwelcome return of Victorian idiot, Ally.

This is genuinely my favourite episode
I love how when you ask him the questions, he answers them, and it is funny and makes me laugh
I also enjoyed the parts where they said something amusing and then I was amused.
the bit where his guests have a face a funny one it a highlight
Having thought about it a bit more, I'm up for it.
THE Andy McH?

one of the funniest interviews yet, you guys have great physics
it because the show is scripted
The 'Harry Potter Trivial Pursuits' part is the funniest thing you've ever done. Keep thinking about it in public and almost crying laughing
thanks Jack. I wish I had made it go on about four times as long.
One of the more surreal ones all though I do like it where Rich just keeps going with the emergency questions so it stops being funny then gets funnier and funnier. Where does he get his crazy ideas?
he just copied Parkinson
This is just excellent. The more superfluous the questions gradually became, the more I was laughing. Favourite line: "You can get it at John Lewis"
"do you know who Jesus is" - I almost cried from laughter at that
OMG this makes me happy. Thank you, Mr. Herring.
Very pleased to see Ed Gamble! This was an episode I didn't even know I was missing from my life.
Also, I have not been accused of being a demon, but I have been accused of being possessed by a demon!
That's all well and good, but have you ever lived in an igloo?
Only in an igloo brand cooler.
Great episode, still laughing at the Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit(s)!
1:13:11 “Not straight afterwards,” is the absolute highlight. Well done, Edward.
literal tears from the trivial pursuit bit 😂
Actually upset that this one ended.
The poor woman in the front sat down in essentially a giant, everchanging in-joke 😂
Love these, thanks Richard Herring 👍🏻
Really enjoyed this episode, last few have been real standouts.
Arthur Smith would be a good guest for the podcast. Keep the good work up!
peacock and gamble looked like an ok Lee and herring tribute act when I first saw them, so glad you had them both on, good guys
Again he uses my Korea joke! Do I own Alan Partridge now?
If so, I hereby surrender all rights related to Alan Partridge to Ross Noble just to keep things interesting.
I created Alan Partridge.
This is by far my favorite episode. Unhinged is the word that sums it up really
Ed's fruit anagram routine (starts at 10min): ua-cam.com/video/00UrBwlwhGc/v-deo.html
This is the best show not on tv.
I saw Herring once he say to me "don't call me Rick" and he was wearing blue Umbro socks (football ones).
I have never worn Umbro socks. You can call me Rick if you really want to.
JC, CJ. I always get those two muddled up.
380 views, 38 likes 0 dislikes, and I come along and LIKE it......owell, my luck...
and my Grand Luck to see ''What The Dickens''.....more enjoyable work from Mr. Herring.
do indulge if you have the time, not a complete waste of time.
any chance of getting sarah alexander or peter capaldi on rich
and I do apologize, but it continues to haunt me, Ed does have a certain resemblance to "Randy the Rough Rascal'' puppet on Pee Wee's Playhouse.......it makes me smile..
I really enjoyed this Mr Herring, it was a nice cosy relaxed chat with Ed. But I would like you to try and get Frankie Boyle, the Mick Jagger of comedy, on this. Mainly because I want to see you try and interview a belligerent guest again, and look as uncomfortable as you did in your podcast with Russell Brand.
You must not know Frankie very well because he couldn't be less belligerent. Go watch literally any interview of him.
You clearly don't understand what Frankie does.
@@tatlockandfriends
Yeah, Frankie is really chilled in person
and a bit shy.
Looking at his mouth and eyebrow movement, I think Ed Gamble is an alter ego of Russell Brand when he wants to dress normally for a bit. Or Russell Brand is an alter ego of Ed Gamble when he wants to wear coloured rags and say "Forsooth" a lot. I mean whichever.
one of the best ever
I would say this guy has a James Blake face
Herring & Gamble
sounds like a law firm.
funny guy, relaxed atmosphere, lovely stuff
But which Lord is the best? Dance, Rings, or Flies?
cx1735 Dance, because of the quick feet of blouse wearing tycoon, Michael Flatley.
TrainInVain flatley my dear I don't riv-er-dance
@@sratus
Pay full price to see River dance.
If your in the cheap seats, all you can see is a lot of head turning.
Ed makes a very good straight man. I wonder if he did proper Improv in uni or something.
He really is, I love him on anything with Lou sanders
Ed Gamble used to have me in stitches in his podcasts with Ray Peacock, and he (and Ray) would sometimes be laughing so hard at their ridiculous flights of fancy, they could hardly speak. He was good in this, but he seemed to be at a much lower energy level than I was expecting. Still good though.
seacow1970 yeah the chemistry they had was tremendous. They could bounce off each other's ideas and stories for ages and still keep up the laughs. I still listen back to them.
Log flume almost just killed me....
Ooooooh, lovely stuff
I listened to the ray peacock one last night and went to see if their was a Ed gamble one. This is almost creepy
The "podcast" that tears apart Jack and Jill that was mentioned: ua-cam.com/video/sXNsT7-Lwsk/v-deo.html . They're quite good, definitely up there with Rich as some of my favourite content creators.
01:22:24 - fucking gold.
had me giggling like a schoolboy
too good looking
Thanks Tris. I just work with what God gave me.
Richard Herring well it certainly works for me
brilliant
Is Ed even wearing a top under that sweater?
How do you get tickets for this? I did google it but I got distracted clickbate showing how young and thin celebrities aged and gained weight over a period of time.
do enjoy these fan from A.U
Just googled 'fat ed gamble'. Done well innee?
weavehole that's why he was once described as a toddler faced comic in a write up
what's the movie ed mentions where the actor who plays the villain wears his actual clothing?
I dunno who CJ or JC are
How about getting Nina Conti and Gran
Going on a date with ali and Filming it like channel 4s First date
Gran and ali would hit it off i`m sure..
Fat Ed (on the 2010 Russell Howard show) reminds me of Matt Forde... So Fordey, you do the maths :D
Somerset golliwogs meet Dexy's Midnight Runners. And this is not his best material! Get yourself to Leicester Square, early!
Fewer.
It’s all a bit too on for the discerning viewer. Good though.
My god pie in the sky was shit
He's a lovely bloke but it's weird how comedy has these Justin Biebers now.
Justin Bieber?
You mean, younger comedians?
Speaking of Detroit.. every tue there's a new issue of a film podcast from Detroit
Mike WHITE & Rob ST-MARY'S the projection booth podcast
This is genuinely my favourite episode
I love how when you ask him the questions, he answers them, and it is funny and makes me laugh
