- In this 216th installment, Jimmy breaks out his 2018 Firefly FFJR for the 1st time in awhile and does a impromptu “Jam” that was used in part for the “intro and outro” to the New Firefly Mid-March Drop video available here on the channel. By request, here is the full 4 minute “uncut” jam, (clams and all) that was done for that video. 1 take and done…and for those who ask about the setup? Here you go!
Equipment: 2018 Firefly FFJR “Goldie” w/single P90
Monoprice 15W Stage Right Valve Amp in 1W Setting
Monoprice 1x12 Celestion V30 Cabinet
Ampero 1 Effects Simulator running via Monoprice 15W Amp (Effects Loop) w/overdrive:compression:delay:reverb
Roland Boss RC-5 Loop Station (for backing track) running via Monoprice 15W Amp
iPhone 14 filming in 4K with dual Boyer wireless mic’s (1 for voice, 1 for room in Mono)

Very nice, Jimmy! Great guitar, too! From the FFSP (Les Paul) -> FFJR (Les Paul JR) -> FFTC (Les Paul DC Special) -> FFLG (SG), it’s almost like you can see the “evolution” of the Les Paul into the SG. I’m curious now, what’s the source of your jam tracks?
Hi PG…Yes, you can certainly see the evolution. Simplicity is my favorite…hard to beat a single P90 for a lil’ RnR…😎
When I jam, I use a number of different methods…sometimes I just make up a backing track on the looper…other times I will use a backing track from UA-cam or elsewhere online….sometimes I save them to the memory of the looper, most times I will just listen to a rhythm I like and build around it…try to keep it simple…😎
