    Cheers for sharing all your knowledge bro. I came accross your channel a few weeks ago and really enjoy it, super helpful and inspiring. I also want to acknowlegde how authentic and genuine you are in the videos, good work man!! Pretty sure i've seen you in the water back at Porthmeor ove the years. I lived in St Erth but moved away to Portugal a couple of years ago! You’ve inspired me to hit up Ecuador some time, i was looking up Airbnb and you can rent a fairly decent place for £350 per month. I dont suppose you noticed how much meat dishes were and also wheteher there are local butchers to get meat, and what the prices are like?
    Keep up the good work, i noticed your subscribers have jump from 1.8 to 2.8 fairly quickly, killing it, yewww.

      Hey Peter!! So stoked you found it helpful and inspiring!! That's my main goal with all of these videos!! Ahhh yeah, no doubt you would have a few years back haha! Sick! You moved to better waves hahaha... Yeah to be honest Peter I can't remember what the meat prices were as I did make a point of not buying it (to save money in general) but I don't think it was crazy expensive! Yeah it's been growing fast which is wicked! Just gonna keep learning and improving and putting more helpful surf travel info out there :))

    Awesome channel and great info. A quick tip for editing: it would be helpful to put text on the screen of unusual place names, especially if they are not English. I couldn’t understand that you were saying Guayaquil until the end of the video when I saw the text. Either way great video. Thanks!

      Hey Andrew! Epic suggestion, thanks for that, I'll make sure it's more clear in future! I'm sure my pronunciation wasn't helping either hahah! Thanks!!

    I always like your videos. One way to improve would be to show more images of the town, hostels and waves

      Hey mate! Great shout! It's sometimes hard to find stock footage to fit and I ended up losing heaps of footage from when I was there last year, and have to be careful pulling surf clips because of copyright! But will make sure I add some more of this in the next vid!! (El Salvador). Cheers!!

      I agree. Great videos mate. Love hearing the accent. Love the British surfer travelling on a shoe string tradition. I would love to take my family here for 6 months. You said it has an off season - how bad is the weather outside of the good season?

    Montanita is the twin surf town with Mancora in Peru. Mostly a major party scene. The waves are better in Mancora. Be careful in Guayaquil. Sketchy.

    I really enjoy your reporting on south and Central America. I live in pavones and you never need a wet suit. That said I am planning some trips further south and knowing the suit to bring would be helpful.
    Thanks for the heads up and keep charging.

      Hey David! Epic, stoked you enjoy it!! Wicked! Would love to check that place out one day! Yeah generally, Ecuador is boardies (although in winter a wet suit top might help), then Peru a 3/2 for most of the country and then down into Chile, depends how far south you go, but 4/3 and boots around Pichilemu way!!

    I've found on a one week trip that using the local buses from the airport eats up too much time. Private transport is pricey. Going with a friend cuts the cost in half. Same with rooms unless you are going real cheap in a hostel dorm.

    Rome to Rio is a solid site! Mompeche is the bomb so so so cheap I didn’t like montinita I found it super seedy like jaco in Costa Rica

      Yeah such a good website!! And that's a good point actually. Good comparison although I didn't find it as bad as Jaco, as yeah you're right, that place is super seedy hahah!!

    Can you tell me what is the average internet speed and general connectivity like in Ecuador? Also does anyone have any recommendations of companies there to use?

    • @DanHarmon123
      @DanHarmon123  11 місяців тому

      Hey mate! I'm not sure of the exact average, but most hostels and rooms have decent wifi!! And for companies do you mean for internet/mobile data??

    • @richardclark2995
      @richardclark2995 11 місяців тому

      Ok thanks and yes which are the best internet/mobile data companies to use there for value, speed and reliability?

      Hey, two main mobile carries are Claro and Movistar, I use Claro wich in my opinion has better range coverage. For internet carrries you have netlife, telconet also Claro. all of them are fine. For average I would say 50mbps maybe
