    I just poured one of these but it's curing now. I did take the step of putting smaller rhinestones in the smaller holes on the inside with uv resin. Mine is a shimmery blue and I made a mix of blue and silver glitter (adding glue) for the top. I love your idea though and I will be making it again!

    I love your music today ❤ What is the difference between all the resin choices for example deep pour ?

    • @TheBlueElephantGifts
      @TheBlueElephantGifts  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you so much Brenda ❤️❤️🥰 ok so each type of resin has its purpose. Deep pour resin has a very thin (like water) viscosity and can be poured up to about 2 inches depending on the brand. Normal epoxy is a slightly thicker viscosity and can normally go up to about 2ish cm again depending on the brand. Then you have tabletop or coating resin which is a very thick viscosity and is used for topcoats and should only go up to about 1/8in depending on brand. Always read the manufacturer’s instructions for each resin you use because they can vary on how deep you can pour each one. If you pour it deeper than recommended it can flash cure and can release toxic fumes and possibly cause a fire. I don’t know if you watch Louise singleton creations but she has one where she goes through each kind and how to use.

      @@TheBlueElephantGifts Thank you so much for explaining that 🙏👍

    • @TheBlueElephantGifts
      @TheBlueElephantGifts  Місяць тому

      @@brendakatko8286 you are very welcome. Also I forgot to add that the ratios can be different too like let’s resins deep pour is a 2:1 ratio instead of 1:1. Some can be 3:1 another reason why it’s really good to read the directions before use. They also can cure at different times. Deep pour typically takes between 48-72 hrs while a normal epoxy can be anywhere between 8-24. Again these times all depend on which brand you get

      @@TheBlueElephantGifts I am disabled and 69 years old and am interested in trying to do it to possibly sell some just to have something to do I just don't know what basic needs to get started any advice I'm interested in the uv resejn

    • @TheBlueElephantGifts
      @TheBlueElephantGifts  Місяць тому

      If you are just starting out with uv resin I would recommend purchasing a uv resin kit for jewelry. Let's Resin has one that has open and closed back bezels and a mold along with the resin, add ins and some hardware and a small light. I have it linked in my Amazon storefront (link to store front is in video description). If you are going to purchase molds to use you need the clear and shallow ones or the light won't go all the way through. If you purchase a starter kit and decide you like it then I recommend getting a stronger light like the Let's Resin dual uv light. The smaller ones aren't the greatest if you are using molds. Personally, I prefer using 2 part even for jewelry as opposed to uv resin but that is a personal preference. If you haven't watched Daniel Cooper, maybe check out some of his videos. He does mostly uv resin projects.
