Trey is a total class act. Taking the time to learn their songs, sing their song, etc. Just pure class.

dude, i just have to say, i love your crazy, wide eyed, frantic explanations of the deeper theory of the interplay between trey and rick. I subscribe whole heartedly to your nerding out of the actual mechanics of what's going on. it rocks. keep making videos.

Just clicked on and I can't believe you are doing this. Immediate thumb up for me. I was there and it was a magical night. The Dripfield after these songs may have even been my highlight, but the end of Arcadia was magic too to hear such a Phishy part of Goose's music with Trey putting the final touches on to take it into outer space.
Rick and Trey actually compliment each other really well as their styles are quite a bit different - Rick is playing all the notes and Trey is just adding texture and depth all the way though. Most people won't get it, but for those who do it is everything.

There is a lot of talk about this being the handing of the torch, where I see this more as a handshake welcome to the big stage. Goose has been working their ass off the past few years, and it's great to see them have these landmark type of shows. How soon to MSG? Look forward to seeing the evolve over the next 5-10 years.

As a total gearhead I’m not sure why he hid it, I could only guess it’s to protect it from damage, because it’s not like you can just go out and buy another one (well In Treys situation I’m sure he could but you know what I mean).
I do know he was testing multiple OG Trainwrecks before he settled on his current rig (ironically one of which was named “Reba” that he sadly didn’t choose) and being a handmade, hand tuned amp they’re all unique and in a sense irreplaceable, so it may just be a little bit of insurance to put another layer of “roadie proofing” around it.

Just me again but forgot to mention how big the smile is on Jerry's face. The future of music is assured and just where and how far can this great feeling go? I got on the bus over 50 years ago and I finally feel like people are feeling what I have always. Back in the day, arguing with people about the dead and the tour life to the uninitiated who are mostly scared of what's on the bus and waiting . Also though, nothing is as cool as watching the light come into first, the eyes then the soul and poof, another deadhead was born. Watching and waiting for this magic to happen was maddening. Funny that all the great players took grateful dead 101and the respect they all show to each other. They took ego away and actually listen to each other. Everyone is jammin their asses off and only complimenting the others groove and not stepping on each other for the lead spot. Yepper, that's the ticket. Ego be gone.

I feel exactly as you about the Peter/Trey dynamic and the way goose digs in before taking off. I'm a deadhead and nothing has filled me with as much immediate " its gonna be alright cause its all alright already and been alright all along", from goose, since Phish, since Jerry and the boys were wandering winterland with duane and the best from the psychedelic south.
High praise indeed! This time we are in right now is bringing out the best of what's around, together.
Music must stay live to thrive and this jamband deal (they call it a new phenom, lol, first dead show in 69and 247 shows later...) nothing new but a few of the players .
Anyway, I digress, thank you for your very sharp breakdown and putting some mechanics to the miracles I've witnessed .I'm retired now and mostly playing my drums muffled and muted for my own pleasure at home. Apartment life and percussion shouldn't blend but I outlived the neighbors who didn't like my music and moved as many old hippies in as I could find. Watching and experiencing this natural evolution of my music and with people who are finally getting IT, is the sweetest thing. Uni-Verse, from the Latin "One-Song
Thanks again, I shouldn't comment when I'm so freshly flushed from funkin' fun. Please forgive my over excited extra yapping but trying to illiterate the page with peace, beauty, perfection, love etc. of "The" groove , is something that I don't want to leave anything out of, so I consequently sound like a windbag trying to get it right. Anyway- once again Thank you for your part in all this magical music and putting your twist out there. That's fearless bro, peace I feel like ive known you from somewhere before and I venxed(venting in a text)

I like them, and their explosion in popularity in the last couple years is pretty astonishing, but I do get that same vibe I had back in 2004 when Phish “broke up” and everyone was making a claim to who the next jam band “torch bearer” was going to be.
Everyone was arguing/wondering if it would be Moe, Widespread, UM, SCI, Bisco (lol) or any other litany of mid sized regional jam bands that came on the scene.
As long as Phish is still touring, they still have the claim IMO, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

24:10 Michael: "So now we've made our way to B flat Major...honestly, it all fits, it all makes sense"
Well Mike, when you have the current best Jam Band on the planet playing with one of the best Jam guitarists ever, of course it all fits. Some incredible talent on that stage...
    Goooooose!!!

From one Baltimorean or Marylander to another. I think you should check out Nick Johnston. Having seen some of your videos. I think you would appreciate his note choices, melody and playing. But who knows, I could be wrong. There are plenty of videos of him playing clinics. Heck, I would even choose one for you if needed.

Didn't know you moved into the jam band scene. Last time I saw a vid of yours it was when you stopped Phish reaction vids because of Phish's streaming policies and you were kinda pissed about it, but before then I don't think you were doing jam bands. EDIT: Just fyi I got here from running a search for tonight's Billy Strings with Trey. I see your hat. So I expect a vid on that later LOL go get 'em!

I'm an old Deadhead, Phish, moe. - the good stuff! I listen to Goose now, heard everything on UA-cam, some more than once. More please! This show is for the ages. Reminds me of listening to The Other One from Binghamton '70.

I’ve been trying to figure this out for a very long time, you may be the only one who can help me. so when Rick builds up his solos, near the peak before he snaps the tension, he creates some sort of what I would describe as like a raunchy white noise. You can kind of hear it around 31:15 . If you have an idea what I’m talking about, could you assist me in how he does it?

Amazing performance…the part you loved around 31:10 is a nod to “can’t you hear me knocking “ solo by The Rolling Stones for sure
