I live in Australia, and I've just finished doing two new house builds. This man is 100% correct in that your profits are super thin, going back to fix holes, scratches, dents and ordering more paint because the plumber/electrician drilled holes in the wrong areas. Typically, those track builders just have their drywallers spray on a cheap paint that doesn't hold up. We just shoot flyers out 2 years after those subdivisions go up!
Here in the uk its the same,, only way to make any money from it is by flooding the job with price work lads who ain't going to be worried that any work they do will be ruined with in a week and a contracts manager who's on ball with variations getting signed left right and centre otherwise they can keep there 300- 500 plots coming up on other sites.
