- Here is a shootout between a reverb plate for vocals. Lexicon Native VS. Valhalla Plate VS. Cubase Revelation stock reverb. I tried to match all three settings as close as I could. Let me know which one you prefer in the comment section.

Lexicon ,Guys. Hands down. Clarity and tails are more natural. Thats just me. TQ
Lexicon 100%. Glad I found this video, made my decision easy.
Lexicon sounds the most natural for me
Valhalla seem to have a slower and bigger low-end build up. Definitely prefer the lex. But 50$ for the Valhalla is hard to beat!
lexicon sound absolutly natural
Vahalla sounds the best clearly imo but the best part is it has like 9 different plates which all sound so drastically different...i really lile the Cobalt and Adumentium plates
Loving the Lex, but it seems there could be a bit more dialing in here. The Valhalla wet/dry mix is way off, and I am not convinced it can't be made to sound much better in this context.
I like lexicon slightly. All decent. Sometimes it seems like valhalla is a bit overly done I don't know why just my feeling.
Thanks man ! very useful
Lexicon …. Ist so wie man es hören möchte.
Einfach geil 🔥
You should try stw reflex xpro it's the best reverb delay I've heard
Valhalla sounds all over the place. Too many artifacts. Lexicon sounds the best. It’s expansive but you get what you’re paying for.
Valhalla sounds like 3-4db louder. It steps all over the vocal. It sounds nice. Just too much. I prefer the lex but I am biased. I grew up using a 480 at the studio I interned in. But for 50 bucks the valhalla is a no brainer. I just joined with Relab and am really enjoying the lx480. I totally agree about the reverb tails. For long verbs in open songs having a thick dense dark verb rules and so many verbs fall flat with anything longer than 4 sec decay time. With lesser verbs I can hear slappy ping pongy tails that get too bright and decay unnaturally weird. I think all the Valhalla plugs have very nice tails especially at that price point. The lx480 is spot on, at least to my memory. The psp2445 has a really really thick beautiful tail with a bit of warble in the decay, but fantasticly dense in sparse mixes. Also good presets are important. There are so many verbs I demo make me wonder if the programmer has ever mixed a song. Some of the lame reverbs are actually quite funny and leave me scratching my head.
Valhalla for price but I prefer lexicon but if you have both you can put them in fx buss and blend them would be awesome
Remember that the lexicon has a low pass filter on it and the Valhalla does not. This is why people are saying the lexicon blends with the source better. So the rever eq settings are not matched. Plus matching reverb levels have to be done with sends and auxes because every reverb that I have used can come in at different levels
To me, the valhalla sounded warmer, but the lexicon had more "tiny variations" in the sound
Lexicon sounds more rich to my ear......vahalla pushes the voice back to far and the tail is weird..
Lexicon 100%. Smoother and more rounded.
Lexicon sounds way better. More natural sounding and lets the original voice present without overpowering it. Lexicon is probably the best when it comes to reverb and maybe even digital effects.
this valhalla setting sounds like it's adding low-mids - for ensembles you obviously wouldn't want that. Lexicon doesn't color the sound.
You don't open with Led Zeppelin. :) I'm listening on youtube and not .wav's on my monitors. I thought the Lexicon plate was incredible. It sweetened the vocals tremendously. I'm surprised at how much I like Valhalla, but Lexicon is just fantastic -- but I knew this going in. That said, Lexicon is insanely expensive whereas Valhalla has a great price.
Cubase Revelation is good for the early reflections, the tail sounds mediocre. I find convolution works best for plates btw!
In a mix situation??
They all sound good. When I was mixing in the box I was reaching more for the Valhala.
Thanks!
I'm sorry but although you mentioned this isn't a scientific comparison I find it still not useful regarding the Revelation Reverb. This stock plugin is mainly based on early reflection algorhythms and creates tails through multiplication of the selected ER patterns... This is actually a different technique and not comparable to Lexicon and Valhalla. You could have used Valhalla Room for this kind of Reverb in comparison to Revelation.
Oh and nevertheless, I agree with most of you...Valhalla wins, not only but also because of its price. It is also really easy to set it up in comparison to the Lexicon and I think it is also a little more cpu-friendly.
totally Valhalla, but maybe it sounds brighter too
nah man that lexicon just sound so much sweeter
How do I get this lexicorn?
I have the plugin 🤞🏿💯..we can exchange I am in need of waves vocal rider?🤔
Valhalla gives more value to compare the money because the price, but lexicon have better sound but to expensive.
Attention: Lexicon Reverb doesn't work with Catalina
Lexicon is the best. Valhalla blurs the vocal starts to over power the vocal. Lexicon IMO would sound ever better in the mix but £££? maybe different story
All 3 are good but Revelation is 3rd....vahalla might be first here...
Lexicon sounds best
Comments don't even mention 😑 Revelation - unjustifiably so.
in my ear Lexicon is better but also plate reverbs seem not good for this vocal in my opinion :)
maybe concert hall , etc are better.
The more dynamic a performance is, it maybe a good choice to use a plate.
Lexicon sounds more Pro!
Lexicon sounds the most professional, period. The rest sound like amaterish cheap stock plugins from shitty demos...
Lexicon
*Valhalla, to all of you, comments and Daniel.
lexicon by a mile
Lex is bet
