I apparently mispronounced a bunch of tags so...sorry about that. Also I forgot to add turndownforwalt as another tournament recap person you should def check out if you have not already.
Just finished the video, I appreciate the shoutout at the end. Thank you for all the work you put into these videos and the community as a whole! I look forward to seeing what form your next few videos take.
This video is criminally underappreciated and I have an explaination: there are few people that follows both Ultimate and Melee. Maybe there should be two different video for more views
I made some nerdy corrections but overall this vid is amazing and gave me insight to a lot of the narratives I didnt know about in ult. 34:14 sorry to be that guy but genesis 3 was in 2016 51:51 Also being an even bigger nerd but jmook also lost a game in pools to darkatma. I'd have been shocked if you knew that tho
This is a really cool video :D helped me catch up on the state of ult as a P+ player, but I do wish PM/+ tournaments could be covered for 2024. (So far there are def a few tournaments that are very much worth mentioning)
I got to 17:41 before I realized what a truly momentous effort this video is. Like, one of the biggest Smash projects ever Then I got to 24:35 and realized it **is** the biggest Smash video ever IT'S MY SLEEPOVER AND I GET TO CHOOSE THE MOVIE
Ill be honest I think its an enormous blunder to put this much work into a video combining both melee and ultimate events. The majority of both fanbases barely care about the other game. I imagine you would have been a lot better off just having them as two separate videos.
I dont think he does this as some way to be popular. They're doing it probably as a way of mapping out the year, after all They're probably doing it because they help run the stats teams for both games. Imo I think doing both works fine because these are supposed to be very short overviews of tournaments so you might as well combine both
Not to mention titling it “in 2023” which is a common way to title a video discussing current events in a given scene. I was confused when I saw it was uploaded 8 days ago. For example, titling it “smash last year was____” would have been a better way to communicate that this is a retrospective type video
Summary of competitive smash bros now in 2024 : -Melee is doing as well as ever -Ultimate becomes more and more toxic and unwatchable but somehow doesn't die
I apparently mispronounced a bunch of tags so...sorry about that.

this video is a love letter to competitive smash, great job

28:38 the worst part of BTS shutting down is we have to live with the fact that it ended on such a low note with Steve winning

Why did official support end, I wonder?
I sure wonder why official support for smash ultimate ended in 2020-2022

you're not ready for what happens at 24:35

@@jccs98 Considering how he posted the video August 2nd 2024, I feel as though it’s very obvious he’s talking retrospectively
I know plenty of people in the ult scene who enjoy spectating melee. Especially given they’re often held at the same events
Summary of competitive smash bros now in 2024 :
-Melee is doing as well as ever
-Ultimate becomes more and more toxic and unwatchable but somehow doesn't die
It’s almost as if “unwatchable” is subjective and a lot of people still like to watch and play.
Look forward to these every year:)
