My great uncle Albert Antinori was an engineer with C co 297th engineers. He received the bronze star for his involvement with the bridge crossings 23 to 25 February. I have the citation.
My father participated in the crossing. Dates match up perfectly with the journal he kept during the war.

my Dad tripped a land mine on 2-23 lucky SOB survive. Hence me I guess. He crossed the river between Linnich and Ruhrdorf. It was his last day as a working soldier. He then became a surviving one.
