- Hi ! This is a comprehensive guide on the best way to level from 40 up to 50 on the release of Phase 3 of Wow classic SoD and how to do the ZF (Zul'Farrak) pull as a Priest/Paladin/Hunter and mage. Showing all the mechanics behind doing this.

UPDATE ! Since the release of Phase 3 the zombies have gotten the same buff as SoM, meaning the longer they are being kited the faster they are.
Basically, don't try slowing them you won't be able to, so this might be impossible for most classes from now on

how do u loot the ones that die on the side of the mountain
i'm finding a lot of the zombies seem to either be resetting their health mid pull or aren't taking living bomb damage - any ideas?
@@markw1528 Reset early in the pull i'd understand but mid pulll... no idea. what i know is that until all the mobs aren't near your you must be as much as you can on the corridor wall.
Thank you for actually showing fails/loss scenarios cause a lot of people doing pulls like this only show their perfect splice and it's really annoying when trying to learn it
It will for sure be alot of fails when first doing this, it's all about practice
So true, the expectation from videos of instant success are disappointingly misleading. I remember being frustrated in DME in classic but I finally saw in a video the player’s death count there, which was 600+! Having patience with myself is going to be key 😂
To be fair this is by far the easiest xp boost in classic and can be done with 1 attempt if you watch his route to the grave a few times, practice the jump when you do get there, and use some consumables. Target dummies, shadow prot pot, stam food, alcohol, stam set can all make getting to the gy completely trivial.
They fixed it. You will get kicked from safe spots. Good luck.

Do you recommend frost spec? Since you said if you are oom too fast, im curious what fire spec you can use. Always did Blizz spec back in the day.
I'd say frost spec is going to be the best spec just because of Ice barrier making it much safe to get to the graveyard. and you will still be able to living flame / living bomb as frost + blizzard.
You actually can still use the first reset spot in ZF since it was patched. You just run around it just not jump over it. Nice vid

@korriebutler4929 yes. I used it yesterday. You just have to go around it and under the thing on the wall but you can still get there but going around the wall on the mount or behind the pot might be easier. If you don't have a mount you can still use the no mount strat.
Question: If I help my guildies by boosting this, how close to the GY do they have to be? Is the box safe spot before scarabs enough?
I've done countless mages in here from level 40 but I'm intrigued by the prospect of bring my priest in.
the real question is how do you know which version of ZF we going to get? they may add the invisible wall making you not allowed to jump on this wall...
Druids can definitely do this with the gale winds rune + stealth
Do you need specific gear for it? Or can you for example just get to level 40, buy green gear from the AH and do it easily also?
I think paladins will be the most geared reliant here. But Green AH gear "should" do it. But don't take my word for it as nothing has been officially tested YET.
I think mages can do a normal kill phase on the beetles since theyre non-elites, right?

Is there a reason you didn't mention Shadow Word Pain with the shared pain rune for priests? Seems like that would speed things up a lot.
I mean tbh, this is a very general guide, tons of things for each class that could have been more in depth. it's mainly to show people that this will be doable by most classes.
I think if druids get gale wind rune they can do it with hurricane and shamans with totem placement + nova totem

Yes, this was tested on era servers. So unless they did additional changes it should all work the same.
Should also work for balance with gale winds ?

Are you gonna go deep frost for shield or frost till blizz slow then into fire for ignite ? :)
Deep frost until you get some levels. You need the shield to get through some of the mobs at first. Once your level is higher you won't aggro as much as you run there and go go more into DPS. But at level 40 and if you're still learning the shield is a MUST. When you're a bit higher in levels and more comfortable then you can just go deep fire.
Why don't you want to take two points in entrapment in stead of savage strikes? Wouldn't it be beneficial to keep adds in our traps for as long as possible?
it splits up the mobs and then you can end up in a situation where you have a bunch of mobs close right + left, better to control their pathing rather than root them
You never want entrapment in farms where you want to keep everything stacked

Mind Sear is not slowing down the elites though, however. We apparently have 2 aoe spells now.
Even if mobs aren't slowed you still have time to get a few ticks before needing to jump again, so it should be fine.

You didn’t mention that fallen hero’s and the zombie have different agro tables, unless you AOE each pack they dont social agro and need to be pulled separately.

i did this one time on my lock in era at like lvl 45-46, didnt go that well, i killed everything with dots slowly but it took like 30 mins just to kill everything. and when i did kill everything most had despawned and couldnt loot, also the exp wasnt great for the time it took to kill em. I dont think now in SoD warlocks have anything more other than a LOT more spell power to kill em a bit faster. I am pretty sure grabbing immolation aura early on from ashenvale and face tanking farming ZF might be a lot faster.
Can't do this as Pal anymore. Some adds run too fast, can't go deep to put the consecrate between wall and mountain anymore kill phase last too long. Due to differences of speed some add dont take damage from consecrate and reset their xp so they give like 2 xp when killed...
For a mage, would LB and LF be better than old school rank 1 blizz?
It's been patched in way that makes it so you can't slow them. So don't even bother using blizzard, just spam living flame and living bomb

sure you could replace it along side the slow totem I think it would work, you can also use the fire nova spell on the totem.
Yes, basically the same strat as paladins but totems instead of consecration.

Wouldn't they just use totemic projection to move a slow totem+magma totem over and use fire nova rune spell. Since that count as your aggro they would leave the totem alone.
Sadly unless shaman has aggro, the mobs would end up killing the totem.... it's frustrating. Thought I could do Uldaman farm like hunters do with traps.... I was wrong hahahaha

I did ZF farm with warlock and with druid also,hehe.. with warlock i used dots, but you need boots from engi and swiftness potion to get there, with druid is easy to get there but it takes around 15min ti kill ads, i used huricane and dinamids from engi
Can you click the graves while using eyes of the beast for Hunter pets? Has any1 tried?
You can't open Cath doors, so probably not graves aswell.
Can you do this at 40?
Druids should be able to do this with the new hurricane rune too!

That jump at 2:35 is not patched but just not a thing for the gnomer character model you have to mount and the jump is possible just tested. You can also do a stand jump at 4:07 instead of jumping sideways
use delight food to be a pirate and u gucci - its human model
Just did this on a 43 Hunter, so many wipes trying to get there, but once I did it was relativly simple, watch out for a PatTroll, if I didn't have feign death he'd have killed me after I came out of the 2 vases half way through pulling the zombies
Safe spot near the two jugs isn't 100% safe, some mobs will still continue casting, also they still spawn lava totems anyway even if they are not attacking

Dont forget that elemental shamans with stat-heavy gear will do this. Tanking shamans in SOD are extremely tanky. You can use magma totem and fire nova rune along with earthbind for higher dps at higher levels (resists with earthbind will be a problem in lower levels so safer to just let em run).
Yes, while making the video i remembered shamans and warlocks could potentially do it, but I had pretty much done all the editing which is why I linked videos of people showing how to do it on those classes !😅

Basically with the new fire nova rune the dmg from the nova is on your own threat table and not its own table like other totems. This means that if you just have the slightest aggro from lets say healing, u can drop a frost resist totem (doesnt do dmg) and cast the nova rune. Thats how I plan to establish the first chunk of threat at least. From there on out it should be ezpz

Well they should run to boss first and then back to their graves.

I showed in the video which spots were patched, so normally the other spots i showed aren't patched. It's been tested on Era

How do you do this as Shaman?
could likely do it with your fire totems. Just putting them in the same place as where you would AoE blizzard. I'm not sure how long it would take to do this though. As long as you have an AoE this can be done on any character really. Just depends on how long you want to sit and do it.

300k minus the 10-15min to walk to the GY, setup the pull and the run back to reset the dungeon
you can already only do 5 runs per hour, which means you have 12 minutes for each run. Overall it takes about 4 minutes worth of running to get to the spot, then 5-6 minutes to kill all the adds, and then running and resetting. Its not bad, but yeah expect it to be about 3-4 runs per hour at first, which will only be about 180-220k xp, which is still 2 levels worth per hour

Anyone done this on lock yet? What runes would u wanna use for warlock? Was thinking of running something like meta,mc, everlasting afflic, invoc and basically just a dot build with talents into affliction for mana and drain.
any recommendations for rogues ?

Lets you continue to move forward at full speed while turning to face the mob so you don't get dazed

I personally just loot and Log out on the spot
Log on another character and do thing and giggle then relog on my mage
At the entrance of the dungeon, i then exit and reset
Even if it couple a couple of minute being log out i was still hitting instance cap per hour while leveling there doing that from level 42-44
I even had run where dungeon cap was still lock after coming back from gadgetzan
Yeah pretty sure they fixed this, i watched another video recently and they said it hearths you now
This has been fixed which is why you have to do the cave logout skip.

Yes don’t do that it’ll port you to the nearest graveyard, in this case to Tanaris graveyard
Did this farm in Classic as mage, pally, and shaman. Shaman was by far the most annoying (but still worth the xp).
I think shaman might have a much easier time in SOD but still harder than the others. Fire nova rune is threat to your character and totem projection will make it quite nice with sham rage mana regen. Still a pain compared to hunters and mages though
@@elefusion5142 To be honest, I forgot about the fire nova rune completely, never use it.. That being said, that could def make it a lot easier if it gives threat to you directly and not the totem first. Drop a searing for a couple fire novas, then you should have enough threat for magma.
Thanks for the reminder, feel less concerned with leveling Engi now and will prob go for this leveling method on the shaman.

You tried this on SoD recently ? if so, didn't the increased movement speed make it harder ? (tbh i have no idea how shamans work)
@@Mcshen1 yes i did it in SOD, was very easy. i put magma totem down before i jump over the corner, totem projection to the turn point and fire nova when mobs come. jump back and forth to keep them in magma totem. rinse and repeat.
Doing it rn on my hunter. 150k exp per hour (its with relogging and selling grays and traveling from gadgedzan to zf). Still the best way to lvl up solo

Yes, i did zf farm with dots, it was fine, but pain to get there, i needed fast boots from engi and swiftness potion
is it hard as priest? since all other classes you mention has aoe slow abilites. priest dont
Paladins dont have a slow and i did this in Original Classic without a Problem, as Priest with MS, the only problem i see is getting to the Pull without deaths, the rest should be easy 👍🏼

How did this work out mana wise and how long? Seems like it would take longer then to find a group and run the instance.
i was doing 5 an hr but probaly will be slower now can you cant reset instance with alt , mana was fine with blessing of wisdom and downranking concecrate @@xXDevilsSpawnXx

Looks like I will be doing it the old fashioned way. I am not skilled enough for something like this. I would never be able to do all of those jumps. Good luck to those of you who are able to level this way.

use earthbind and magma totem with firenova rune, you must have totemic projection to place the totems.
The bit that you said patched at, were you jump upto the ledge above the boss. I did it last night on night elf its not patched. 👍
yeah, as nelf it seems to work. I think it's only for gnomes where they can't jump there anymore.

Nightmare gives 283k per hour if not more if u get escorts and profession quests., if u have skinner you go almost as high as zf solo
It also gives now 99g per hour, was 183g. So unless nightmare gets another hard gold nerf and anything more than 1500 exp nerf then this will be a viable option compared to the effort it takes.

@@DefilerxA group of 5 makes it 5 times faster as you probably are on a pvp server and the mobs are elites. So you should at least be 3, 5 just makes it a lot faster. Some bosses are faction based tags so you don't really need a group for half the quests i'd say. You should do what you feel like doing, if you want the most chill repeatable thing for 5 hours to 50 then Ashenvale is it.
Another thing to notice is that you share the quests between your party so you increase the chance of amount of quests you have. If you are alone you'll be limited to your own rng which might not give you the optimal quests.
