I'm not sure I have only 1 thing that sets me apart in my small business other than I do want to help the newbie sewists, but I do know that a lot of my past trauma shows up in what I'm making. It's not at all negative but it's part of the healing process for me. I don't really talk about it very much but I think maybe one day I'll feel a release to share a bit more. Great video Gena! Thank you for sharing.

Oh Georgi! I feel this so much! So we don’t ONLY have one thing but where do you want to start? It took me a long time to share any of my trauma and there are still things I don’t share. It could be as simple as your calmness you share in your videos. Or that you stand when you sew which is so boss! Those are just two things that attracted me to you, including your bravery to accept people’s feedback with grace during making your pattern.

I super appreciate your openness and willingness to share your knowledge! I am a newbie and totally struggle with imposter syndrome even after selling some bags.
I’m not sure what my thing is going to be yet. I’m a weekend sewist and I’ve just been experimenting with different patterns to see what I like making. Looking forward to discovering who I am as a bag maker :-)

It takes time but the more you experiment the more you’ll start finding your way. Thank you for watching.

Hi Linday, I'm glad you are here. This time of year I don't do a lot of prerecorded video do to how busy we are with the farm but I do LIVEs every Monday at 2:30 pm EST. Hope to see you there.

Such a good video. I don’t know what sets me apart but I know I need to work on putting myself out there more. It’s so hard for me to be vulnerable and share but I love being able to relate to other people and I would like for people to feel that way about me too. It’s a struggle and one I’m working on, little by little.
Also, love all the businesses you mentioned. I have the pattern and some theratex but haven’t used it yet. Can you interface theratex?

Deena, thanks for watch and sharing that. Vulnerability is SO HARD FOR ME. Truly. But the way I remember is that empathy is also being vulnerable and it is so important for us as small businesses to connect that way. Showing you care about something other than yourself can be a great way to connect with others. What is something you have a sincere care for like animals or an area of your community. Just sharing that can be something people see in you that is in themselves.
As for interfacing theratex, Nancy from fabric therapy says no, but (I have used her self adhesive on it and then ironed it from the back and it comes out beautiful.

I have been trying to sell crafts for over 20 years. I’m obviously bad at it 😂. I craft for fun. As a SAHM it’s my me time. I just love being creative. Now to figure out what to do with all the bags and wallets I have 😂.

If you want to sell them but don’t really want to start a business. My suggestion is to look at what local fairs benefit community organizations like your local school district, fire companies and such! This way you can spend time giving back but also make a few dollars to put back into your stash! Thanks for watching.

@@thunderbirdfarmpa that’s the plan some day. I have an etsy shop. Local is hard with jr not sitting still and listing. He would just run off on me. No sitters.
