He said he knew about Chelsea players when he joined. Said he'd watched so much video. Then carried on to try and make Enzo Jr a number 10 while using Nkunku and Palmer as wingers.
I do respect maresca for just telling it how it is. Hes not bullshitting anyone. "Hey raheem your shit i dont want you" love it. Also felix is so exciting
That's a very tough ask. Unless you want to water down the term legend. He's a good little player, don't get me wrong. It's nice to see him back. But that being said he has a long way to go before coming even close to a legend an I don't think he'll have the time or chance at the current rate..
@mikeyminit5059 yeah there's a huge difference between a world class player and legend of the game joining us to in all fairness to him currently a massive fucking flop.

Also Felix, great signing in my opinion. He's a step up on most of the squad, has that class and talent like few others. Also seems really good guy. Hope he does well.
I really rate how Maresca doesn’t mess about. The media have been doing there best to wind our fans up. As Maresca said on the inside… the club is not a mess. He’s working with 22 players. Yea there is 15 players training away but that’s the same at every club. 6-10 players train away. It’s not new. This manager knows what he wants and it’s a good look. I see him doing well at Chelsea. It’s on and popping
Everytime Maresca speaks I feel more and more assured. He handled the press in Mourinho-style, loved it! Now we just need to see some actual good football over the next couple of months. Up the Chels!
As a half Englishman amd half Irishman, my heart would weap if we get the same group as Shamrock Rovers in the conference (the team my Grandad played for) I'll 100% go though and recommend any Chelsea fans who can go, Shamrock have great support and are a historic Irish club. 💙💚
There’s nothing else to know. Sterling is one of the most overrated players in premier league history. He had a couple of good spells in his career that were 100% thanks to pep’s system. Other than that hes bang average
Said it earlier too, but I like Maresca's pressers much more than Pochettino. It might be too blunt for some, but I prefer it to the waffle session we had whole of last season. Doesn't leave things unclarified even if we might not agree. Now just start winning.
Think about this guys. It just shows and confirms that maresca has the full and total backing from the board/club. This is actually a great sign for our club. A coach that finally has full support. This is crucial to our club
Maresca's decisiveness and honesty to players is endearing. Yes Chelsea have a lot of players but he has his squad together, those surplus are away from the squad. Hes given them clarity and a chance to move on, rather than sulk at Cobham stinking up the gaff.
@@ivansenteza8247toney would require us to drop another 70mill+ to sign, brentford wont let him go cheap, we have way to much pull for Napoli to mess with us if they really want to finish the lukaku signing
Brutally honest, I love it! Also, just shutting down these stupid presser questions that should be directed at sporting directors instead of managers. I'm really liking Enzo Maresca so far
This guyvis the first real honest manager since Jose in his first stint at the club, something that's nice to see, I like how he's being decisive, he knows he wants and who he doesn't and he's told all the players that he doesn't want that they can go, no gray area, straight up you can go, and it's refreshing to see it again, now let's hope he's succesful!!
I prefer a ruthless manager to a waffler. I know this will rub some fans the wrong way, but it gives me hope. Maybe the gaffer will do what needs to be done after all.
I'm sure Sterling is a lovely chap but I'm not going to miss him playing for Chelsea. For every great moment he produced there were twenty where the entire home support had their heads in their hands.
My main problem with Chelsea and the coach in this whole thing is how late in the transfer window he was told he wasn’t in his plans, he was told last Friday which is exactly 2 weeks before the window closes ( that’s bad form giving him such a short time to find a new club ) we didn’t like it when Courtuis ( sorry I can’t spell his name but you know who I’m talking about ) done pretty much the same thing to us and we had to rush out for a replacement and ended up with Kepa and the rest is history. Professional football is a seriously competitive sport like all professional sports and it’s a team game and results game and there is no room for sentimentality. Working class people on minimum wages get treated like this by their employers ( Sterling isn’t stuck for money so this isn’t going to drive him into poverty ) but I do think it would have been more respectful for the new coach to have told him this as soon as he took over. Sterling definitely hasn’t been worth anything like 325 grand a week so it’s no real surprise they want him out, especially with their new wage structure
Tbf I think players might even appreciate not being given some waffle about it and just straight up with telling them better to be honest Than not know where you stand 🤷🏼♂️
Lol, the news media asking me to feel bad about how Raheem Sterling being shown the exit door is too much. He's played 59 times for Chelsea and scored 14 goals. Chelsea have already spent like 85M for those 14 goals (50 transfer fee, 17M salary per season). They don't want to pay another 50M to see out his contract because he's "professional"? Let him go to Arsenal on a free if he doesn't want to leave London.
Now there can be no more excuses that the manager is a "Yes Man" and that all the team selection decisions are not being handled by him. Maresca is showing that HE is in control of his team. The SD's can do what they want with transfers but Enzo's personality is strong. I love it! Telling Chilly and Sterling the honest truth regarding his plans is the hallmark of a good manager. Don't waste the players' times.
I loved this press conference, honestly the media have been attacking Chelsea with lies hopefully this press conference calms things down for Chelsea fans, the journalists are having a field day with Chelsea right now
Talk is talk...... what we need is a mass clear out, please god don't buy anyone else (never thought I would be planning an intervention on our owners but someone needs to take their cheque book away) and finally we have got to actually start winning a game of football, after that I will fall in love with the manager! until then its just hot air!

I like Maresca, some gonna say it’s “brutal” but professional sports isnt kindergarten (like Conte and Mourinho), he’s been honest with the players and given them a chance to find minutes elsewhere. He has trained with a squad of 21 and made clear to the rest they should be looking for moves permanently or on loan. Gives me a little more confidence that he has a plan. I’m actually looking forward to this season, we have some wonderful players (on paper), I just hope he can deliver consistency, and gradual improvement throughout the season (Poch was chaos, couldn’t see a method or style), 4th place finish isn’t hyperbole.
Good to see some one at the club has got balls.must be hard sitting on your back side and getting paid £325 grand a week.I will have some of that every week.

This whole situation with sterling as actually highlighted what people have been saying about Chelsea. There is no coherent plan for the team. The coach and ownership only decide now, two weeks at the end of the transfer window to sell sterling and only after buying Felix. Not at the beginning of the window to give yourself time to try sell a player that has a very small market to sell too. And the reason given is because sterling doesn't fit the profile of winger Maresca wants. Fair enough, but Maresca would know this at the beginning of the window. Seeing as sterling has played the same way for the last 10 years and Maresca himself worked with sterling at man city. So out of all the players, sterling should be a known quantity to the manager.
