The only required modification to convert an existing .308 Winchester-chambered rifle to 8.6mm Blackout is the replacement of the barrel. The 8.6 Blackout shares the same case head and bolt diameter as its parent cartridge, 6.5mm Creedmoor. All other components of a standard AR-10 rifle are compatible.
Even the magazines? Or does it have the same caveats of the 300blk in 5.56 magazines that require you to remove internal material (depending on manufacturer) because of the fatter bullets?

Agreed. I’ve been thinking about upgrading my straight walled hunting rifles to a 8.6 Blackout and the ammo price isn’t that much of a factor as people believe. Hunters don’t shoot a whole lot anyway. I shot a grand total of 150 rounds of .44magnum in the last five years (once the rifle was zeroed and the load developed) and I have enough reloading components for another decade. Burning $3.000 on a rifle like this is the hardest bullet to bite, not paying $2.50 a round every ten days in my average (or much less, as I love to reload).
