I genuinely must commend Tiger for including so much classic-material in a "Static Screen Display", as well as having the courage to utilize transforming as well (rather than their infamous/iconic stiff-running). This is definitely one of their stellar efforts, and it's no wonder Transformers: Generation 2 was one of the few units Hasbro actually reissued. Furthermore, this clearly destroys the otherwise godawful "Mystery of Convoy" game from Japan. Additionally, this plays somewhat reminiscent of Tiger's earlier "Rocketeer" game (except there you also had hostages, and your dwindling ammo supply, to worry about as well).
This one is one of the easier and better Tiger LCD games. The transforming between truck and transformer is somehow really smooth lol I would love to interview someone who worked on these games. It's a such mysterious part of gaming to me. I'm surprised just how many of these use the license well. Battletoads, Street Fighter 2010, and Back to the Future are 3 that stick out to me. Looks like 6 got rereleased by Hasbro recently? They picked some good ones. I'll be doing Spider-man and Sonic in the future.
@@GettingYourNerdOn I believe what most hurt Tiger Electronics's legacy is that - based on circumstantial evidence - I'm fairly certain their best ever selling game was "Double Dragon", which is basically "unplayable" (and that's putting it "mildly"). I can't statistically prove this unit sold the best, yet I see it the most in lots / yard sales / etc. - I saw it often in the collections of others, while growing up - and many people have profoundly unfortunate memories of it. Certainly, one can immediately understand why others would be so fearful of the brand - both blindly, and violently - after experiencing that particular "gem".
The Transformers: Generation 2 game, from Tiger Electronics, is based on the toy line in conjunction with a corresponding comic book series and edited reruns of the original cartoon, off of syndication in the early/mid 90's.
I've worked on beating that one a few times now. I'll get it at some point, but i'm either doing something wrong or it's harder than some of the others. I have a few ready to go but Gauntlet will be the next one I put time into.
If someone told me back in 1993 that we would be Emulating Tiger handhelds in the future I wouldn’t have believed you! But in fairness I was also 3 years old haha Really love this series of videos dude! Keep up the great work showcasing them! 🤘
This series grew on me so much. Trying to figure out how the games worked and how to actually beat them. Piecing information together from playing and reading the back of the package and/or manual when I can find them. So many LCD games out there with licenses that are pretty decent to pretty damn good. My GF still hates these videos, but I can see the constant beeping being off-putting to many people lol
Emu doesn't even show score during the levels weird. Highest I got was 39k and never again because there has to be a randomizer chip in it. Once the plane transforms thats the most points and it can transform in the very first level and on.
I got all the new reproduction games over time. A lot really price dropped this year...ten bucks free shipping for brand new. I am surprised I liked this one best but i had the MMPR one back in the day mainly because I was and am a big fan. Great video. I really wish they would release some sports games. I enjoyed Jordan vs Bird when i got it from thrift a few years back but it wasn't functioning correctly and I opened it and screwed it up even worse!!! LoL 😂 Game Talk Baseball is still fun to me....fairly viable baseball game. Is that one you would do a video on? I know this is emulation...is it on a PC? I wonder if i could put it on my Retro Game 300....?
I think they've done 2 waves of Tiger Electronics LCD game reproductions. They picked some of the best to re-release too. Yea, this one is well made. Not my favorite, but not bad by any means. For sports games that I can do a Longplay on looks like, Blades of Steel, Double Dribble, NFL Football, and Space Jam. I have Space Jam done, it'll come out some time in the future. Yes, this is played in MAME and recorded with OBS. Feel free to send me an e-mail if you need help finding anything or getting things working.

In the TRANSFORMERS Handheld Game, OPTIMUS PRIME Has to Drive Down the Road, Shooting Down the Evil DECEPTICONS
I'd love to see the Tiger LCD version of Gauntlet. I've enjoyed watching these on your channel because back in the day I loved these games. 😊

Just posted the play-through of Gauntlet. Hope you like it!

There’s another lcd transformers game but it’s based on the Michael bay films, and the game has a hub world.
Oh, wow yea there is. From 2007. I Didn't even know it existed. I've seen a Guitar Hero one as well that came out around 2008.
AUTOBOTS Wage Their Battle, to Destroy the Evil Forces of the DECEPTICONS
0:07 Score: a8880
I Want Playthroughs of NINJA GAIDEN, NINJA GAIDEN II, NINJA GAIDEN III, and SHINOBI
I have Ninja Gaiden! I'm just trying to figure out how to beat it lol Will be up at some point. Not sure when though.
Optimus Prime: Autobots Transform And Roll Out!
TIGER ELECTRONICS TRANSFORMERS GENERATION 2!

I'd rather bingewatch energon than play this thing
I see a lot of P in the road... gross. No wonder Optimus Prime is shooting the heck out of everyone...
