Redcat sells metal axle gears. I installed them on mine along with their portal upgrade kit. Do far I’m really happy with them.

Comp crawler tires, such as the rc4wd bully, although expensive at 25 dollars a pair, will improve immensely your crawling ability. You can just put 2 in the front and leave the injoras in the rear. A dual esc set up is another mayor improvement. A pair of hobbywing 1060 is not to expensive and will prevent rear wheels stalling. Along with dual esc’s, a new transmitter such as a flysky, that allows channel mixing, and electronic programmable overdrive (front wheels spinning faster than rear). The better esc’s with better and adjustable bec will allow better usage of whatever servos you have. Lastly, you will feel the difference driving with better servos, more control and connection with your rig. It all costs more, but you will get the enjoyment from the investment.

How much work is involved / how big of a deal is it to convert from the single-stock ESC to dual ESCs?
Do you have to have a new controller or can the stock controller still work with dual ESCs?
@@mrfixitusa6165 hello, How much you get out of a dual esc setup depends on how versatile your controller is. In a simple controller such as flysky gt5, or spectrum 3, you can use a tandem jst connector to connect both escs to the throttle channel. With a more advanced controller you can do channel mixing and program whatever percentage of overdrive you prefer. Depending on the ergonomics of your controller, you may try to throttling each motor individually. One esc is connected to the throttle channel, and the 2nd esc is connected to another knob/stick on your controller. That will allow applying overdrive on demand. It takes practice to master throttling both motors individually but once you “get” it your driving will be extremely smooth; battery charge will last a lot longer because your wheels will not loose grip as often. Dual stick controllers can be obtained for cheap, and allow for channel mixing. They do take a while to get used to.
However you control the dual esc set up, preferably if not necessarily, you will have to get a tandem connector so both connect to the same battery. You can also connect them individually to two batteries .
@@pedrolahoz so I'm guessing that the controller that comes with the Redcat Danchee Ridge Rock is probably NOT one that would let me do it separately?
Can dual ESC even be run with the stock controller?
I do have the 5200 battery in it, so I wouldn't think battery run time would be that big of an issue.

Thank you so much for this video. I just recently bought the same in injora rock buggy body for my son. I have also changed out the servo. I have the tires coming in today but there is one problem I’m running into ever since I did the body swap and that is that somehow when it is flexing its binding in the front any suggestions or ideas? Sorry for any misspelling. I’m using talk to text lol.

I love the video. if you want to solder Tomley RC has a great video on it. It is easy. Even a monkey like me can do it. You can get a really functional iron for less than 30 CAD. You will never be sorry you learned to solder

The stock plastic ⚙️ gears ⚙️ are actually pretty strong

No wheel spacers stock spacers and premouted injora tires
Hey man great video I just purchased one as my first real crawler (other then an scx24 lol) looking forward to to trying it out, the fact that u used simple things to upgrade, I mean locks? Who does that? Impressive and ez on the wallet, and thank u for pointing out that they don't make moa metal geared axles for them I'm been looking so guess I can stop, I figured it would add some weight also,anyway thanks for the video

So I found a higher grade danchee with metal links and water proof lead me to ask is the danchee water proof
The danchee is waterproof yes
I think most or all crawlers have more articulation in the rear

YOU DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE AXLE CUPS STRIPPING? MINE STRIPPED OUT 3 TIMES. I REALLY LIKE HOW YOU DID THIS RIG, GOING TO DO 90% OF IT NOW. I JUST REALLY WANT MY AXLE CUPS, STUPID SETUP, TO NOT KEEP STRIPPING OUT. IM TALKING ABOUT THE PIECE BETWEEN THE STUB AXLE AND THE AXLE.
