Hey Joey and family! Mother Nature is teasing us with these beautiful spring days. I miss gardening so much after relocating years ago. I love watching your videos. I'm gardening vicariously through you and your channel. Thanks for the smiles. 😊
Won’t need no more glasses if you plant 🥕 carrots lol . Ever seen a rabbit with glasses lol
When my Grandpa planted small seeds like that such as radishes and carrots he would put a package of seed in a coffee can of sand then mix it up and either broadcast it or spread it in the row. That helps to control the small seeds and create spacing. Holler if you have any questions.
You need to lay a board over the carrots for a few days for germination
Good looking carrot dirt, you can plant them again last week of August or first of September.
With potatoes, we would cut them and cover them in sulfur powder. Not sure if that helped or not. We also would over seed our carrots and thin them out as they would grow.
I’ve got some potatoes that should be here next week. Going to try to get them in the ground when my schedule and the weather want to cooperate. Disked the garden this morning when I got in and got all my rows laid out ready to plant.
Enjoyed came subscribed from Deep South Homestead he mentioned you it was a wonderful video glad I found you
Joey , have you ever used an old planter Jr. Push type , it has the metal box , steel wheel , planting disk , long wooden handle , just food for thought , my father used one back in the 30's & 40's , they are an antique today ! Enjoy !!
Glad you got dry enough to get the taters and carrots planted. Taters will do fine, those "spots" are actually eyes that just have not sprouted. When I was a boy, not much money for buying seed, so we had to cut each eye with a small chunk from the seed taters.
U need to come hook that 140 up to my early riser planter and monitors and displays and stuff and map out the ground and let the computer guide u cross the garden 🤣
Another great video. Jealous of your potato planter. Only plant one 50 ft. row, so am not that overworked. Will be be watching for them to start coming up.
Good job young men working hard
We always cut the potatoes and let them "heal" for 3 or 4 days Joey. Now whether that is a must or not I don't know but that's what we were taught, and it's supposed to keep them from rotting. But I figure if you have good luck without it why not skip it. Anyway, the planter worked great and those 2 automatic tatter droppers did too. 😁 Nice job boys. 👍
You need to try carrot soufflé
Water them carrot seeds in good and put you a board over them for about 7 to 10 days. They have to stay moist or they won't germinate. Good Luck
Good video, thanks for sharing
Based on your garlic, the potatoes should do fine. I've heard of people planting them with a tobacco hand planter so the riding planter should work. I can't say as I've ever planted carrots either. The next thing when you start planting plants is to show the boys how to use that planting peg. I think you will agree, once you use it one time, you'll never forget how.
Looks really good. They should do well.
Good video sir...Will does a really good job with his filming!!
