The kick is so big on the beats that it actually overpowers the output circuit creating a built-in Sidechain compression when it's turned up. I find myself turning it down a lot.
This has inspired me for months! Wish I could figure out those poly chords on the keys to recreate this! Maybe your playing MIDI tricks on PC but it looks to me like this can be recreate with these 3 Volcas using stock sequencers (besides the Bass playing 2 notes on one oscillator but that can be done with 2 oscillators I imagine). Thank you!
I'm interested in getting a Volca FM, and I ended up here trying to find out what you can really accomplish with a Volca. This video doesn't answer that, but it really shows what these things can be used for. I give you 5/5, sire.
Super!!!
Im not sure how many times ive seen this. Its just amazing, you truly master those volcas! Im curious to hear what effects you use on the keys and the bass? Keep up the good work man!
This vid has been a while of course, but do you think the Volca Beats is worth it's money? There are a lot of complaints about the quality of the sounds it produces. What's your opinion on that if I may ask? I've thinking of buying a total Volca pack. Love the atmosphere of the track, could be a solid release.
+TAO's Laboratory I've actually sold all three of these. They're fun for a while but I just didn't find myself using them after a couple of months. The sound quality isn't great, I think they're best for experimenting with, putting through guitar pedals, that kind of thing.
+TAO's Labratory i think theyre worth the money if you like the chiptune-ish sound of them, or are willing to run them through another bit of gear, like afew guitar pedals or a kaossilator or electribe. If not, then you better start working and saving for arguably better musical things.
Thanks for the comments :). I think I'll go for the Aira series from Roland, at least for the drums. These synths look cool tho', especially for their size
+James Wave F--ck Roland aira !! volca keys and bass are awesome, i have a functionnal live set with a buddy of mine; we have 2keys1bass2beats1sample and everyone love the sound we have ; the other synth we have are mam mb33 and mfb tanzbar . aira is expensive and it doesn't sound good, just look how many of them their is in the second hand market; good luck :)
Is there a program or module I can get that will help me learn how to be more proficient with my Volca setup? Can I hire someone online to teach me. I just got my Volca Keys, Bass and Kick. I love them and play with them quite a bit but I'm starting to get frustrated because I don't know what I'm doing and don't know how to do what I want. I feel like I'm turning nobs and playing with sound (don't get me wrong, I love doing this) BUT I want to be able to start creating... HELP!! By the way this track is amazing @Richard Ingram
S small mixer would work, but an 828mkII is not especially expensive anymore on ebay and you can do mixing on it from the front panel, it's just a little bit of a chore. For live performance, you do need something as there's 3 things here outputting audio. You'll need cables (use trs, not TS) and something to hook up to. Behring makes a 4-channel mono mixer for like $20 that works as a bare minimum.
Fun jam! I'm looking forward to buying these three to experiment with (i'm just starting out) and possibly use them through some guitar pedals. My question is, how do you set up the three of them simultaneously? Do you need a big ass audio interface or just a few 3.5 cables? Also, what are you using the MIDI IN cables for in this video?
g allo i thinknthe long sequence is just the keys with the beats and bass running at doubled bpm. but working on the long keys sequence makes it so enjoyable and alternating. its haunting man.
By far the best track I've heard someone play with the volcas
i think too, by far!!
soundcloud.com/geargrind/macht
I listen to this track at least once a week
+Kimmy Gibblers Gizzard If you like this stuff, you should check out the label Steyoyoke out of Berlin.

As for me, it's one of the best "volca" sessions
After 2 years still the best Track i've heard - I'm speechless!
Greetings!
Very talented. I really appreciate how you master these machines.
Four years later i still listen to this. Please release the audio one day.
Getting my Beats in a week, man that wonderful kick kills it through the mix! Great jam!
The kick is so big on the beats that it actually overpowers the output circuit creating a built-in Sidechain compression when it's turned up. I find myself turning it down a lot.
Cant get enough of this. Korg should just sponsor you.Alot of people will be buying these myself included after watching this
really nice performance, i really enjoy it and cant stop listen to it! +1
Great composition! It's been stuck in my head for the last few days. Good groove!
Quite amazing, the sounds you get out of the Volcas. Impressive and inspiring, thanks a lot!

The original three volcas! Showing how it's done. 🎉😊

Дякую.
Very cool session! Love it! Pity the keys are a bit off :/
how did you record this ? I am on mac and i've got the volca series
They're all running through a Motu 828 into Logic X.
@@gamblersize how do you get your music run through logic x :)
ole!
What batteries use pls? Why I have synchronicity problems with batteries supplied.
Please tell me this track is released somewhere?
Im not sure how many times ive seen this. Its just amazing, you truly master those volcas! Im curious to hear what effects you use on the keys and the bass? Keep up the good work man!
Holy shit. This is incredible dude! Have you put it up somewhere I can buy it? It’s just amazing!
Wow

nice :D
any chord progression changing possibilities?
ahh when the kick hits 3:22
if i want to record a song that i like with these machines how can i do ? a file to put in youtube if i dont record myself with the web cam
just use a random picture of something instead of a video
i know now
Is there a program or module I can get that will help me learn how to be more proficient with my Volca setup? Can I hire someone online to teach me. I just got my Volca Keys, Bass and Kick. By the way this track is amazing @Richard Ingram
Jon Qpid start by learning each model, what it is and what it does. Also have a clear image of what you want them to sound like
Fuck XD......This was great ! Nice job !
Wouldn't personally call this techno, but a very nice jam nonetheless! All that analog goodness.
deep techno mate....but quality nonetheless...who cares about genre anyways.....
have you got 3 MIDI cables coming out from the same PC?
+Alexander Skvortsoff yup I'm an idiot, can see that now. cheers man
how you connecting all them to the speakers what set up you using many thanks
They're all going through Logic X via a Motu.
Richard Ingram so that would be something a need, I'm thinking about getting a few hardware products, so would need a motu for a live set
No the Motu is an audio interface for my laptop. A small mixer would be better for a live set, but not essential.
Richard Ingram cool cheers for your help

Very nice. Is all the sound coming from just the Volca's?
***** It is indeed.

Iñaki Herranz seconds that, although as far as I can see there aren't any cables plugged into the midi slot
Can you connect the volca's headphone out straight into an amp?
I don't see why not.
How didi you dazy chain 3 of them togather ?
sumit3175 Using the sync cables supplied with the units.
What batteries use pls? Why I have synchronicity problems with batteries supplied.
+NE0LIBE Buy new ones. The batteries that com with the units are for setup purposes only.
Supernice.
How did you manage to make such a long loop with the volca bass?
g allo i thinknthe long sequence is just the keys with the beats and bass running at doubled bpm. but working on the long keys sequence makes it so enjoyable and alternating. its haunting man.
Dude, this is freakin' awesome! Is this piece multi-tracked, or was the entire piece recorded simultaneously?
