Hello Marc! I would like to ask a few questions regarding the schools or kindergartens? Could you please share your experience regarding the child education in Abu Dhabi (costs, quality, environment)?
Hi! My daughter hasn't started school yet. From my understanding, nurseries and schools in the UAE can be expensive, with nurseries costing around $800-$2,000 per month and schools ranging from $10,000 to $40,000 per year. But the quality reputed to be very excellent. Some employers may offer benefits packages that cover schooling either fully or partially.
You're welcome! I'm really glad the information has been helpful. If you need any more information with your move to Abu Dhabi or anything else, just let me know. Best of luck with the move!

I have carefully watched your video (great vid btw!) and I was a bit confused in the beginning regarding prices; all prices are in AED? or USD? please clarify, it is important for me . .
Hi @algore3462 The numbers mentioned in the video are in AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham), not USD. Let me know if you need any further clarification!
While living in Abu Dhabi, I rescued my cats from the streets. If you're considering a move and want to bring your furry friend with you, there are specific procedures and requirements to ensure a smooth relocation for your pets.
Moving over in the next month with a 3 year old, my office will be in yas island uk based currently any good areas? We are looking at yas island so im close to the office
Yas island is an ideal choice, especially when your workplace is nearby. It’s a newly developed area with all the necessities for daily life. You can also consider Saadiyat island, Al Bandar, or Al Raha areas, depending on your housing budget and the nursery or school you choose for your 3-year old. The shorter the commute from work and school to your house, the better.
Thanks Ryan! You can definitely find many British on Reem island, Saadiyat, Yas island, Al Zeina, Al Raha. There is British beach club as well where you can meet the largest British community. As for the schools, I heard popular ones are Cranliegh, Repton, Raha International School, Nord Anglia.. and many more. There are lots of school reviews on moms fb groups: Abu Dhabi Mums, Bumps and Babes Abu Dhabi. Check them out. Hope that helps!
Over time, I've adapted to the situation. Just remember to stay within the law and get the necessary permissions for filming in certain locations. Being honest and respectful usually keeps things running smoothly. Vlogging in Abu Dhabi comes with its challenges, but with careful planning and awareness of regulations, it's manageable. And of course, never film individuals without permission-it's against UAE law. Always be mindful of cultural sensitivities and seek permission when needed for a positive experience for everyone involved.
It was wonderful experience listening your video . Do you think if I take a stopover for 2 days I can cover ABHUDHABI well. I love food any recommendation to have good food there (Restaurants). God bless your family.

Thank you so much for this video. It was so informative. I am in the process of research as I would like to relocate with my family to teach there. Can you provide me with some information regarding schools there. My daughter is 9.
Hello @nirvanagovender7194 you are more than welcome :) When it comes to schools in Abu Dhabi, there are indeed many great options available. My wife mentioned that Abu Dhabi Mums members or Bumps & Babes Abu Dhabi groups on facebook are great and will connect you with other parents who can share their experiences and could give you insightful information.
Marc, great video! Can you please clarify your comment about photography? If we are looking to photograph the great architecture, do we need permission from the authorities or the building management? Of course, there will be no people in any such photography. Thanks for your time!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! Regarding your question, when it comes to photographing architecture in Abu Dhabi, it's always best to check with the building management first. While public buildings and landmarks typically don’t require special permission if you're not photographing people, some private buildings may have restrictions. It’s a good idea to reach out to the authorities or building management to confirm their policies on photography. Hope this helps, and happy shooting!
I've just had a job offer confirmed for Abu Dhabi working for the AD Government - me and my partner are so excited to move we are even getting married! Deciding now between Abu Dhabi (easier for commute) or Dubai (which my partner has a preference for). One question I have among thousands - which areas of AD would mix proximity to amenities in walking distance with public transit access to city center and beach? We have a good monthly wage to play with and my partner feeling well connected is important (she can't drive as of right now)
Congrats on the job offer and the upcoming wedding-how exciting! Abu Dhabi is a fantastic place, but choosing between there and Dubai can be tough. For areas in AD with good amenities and public transit access, you might want to look at places like Al Reem Island or the Corniche area. Mamsha on Saadiyat Island is also a great destination, located right on the beach and offering a vibrant lifestyle. Just a heads up, though-Abu Dhabi doesn't have a metro, and in the summer, it gets really hot. In my opinion, it’s always best to get a car, especially for those hot months when walking outside can be challenging. Best of luck with the move!
Hi @kamathchef That's awesome to hear you're moving to Abu Dhabi as well! It's a vibrant city with lots of opportunities, especially in hospitality. The weather can be challenging in the summer, but the lifestyle is great. It’s a good idea to have a car since public transport isn’t the most convenient. Let me know if you need any tips for the move!
Hi Angelica! Reem Island is really close by and has plenty of great options. You can try checking out the Bayut website and search for places in Reem Island or Al Maryah Island. Both are nearby, so you’ll have a lot to choose from!
Helloo Kegan, you're welcome! That's great to hear. To find a job, I recommend starting with online job portals, networking on LinkedIn, and joining local expat groups. It’s also a good idea to research companies in your field and reach out directly. Good luck with your move!
That sounds like an exciting plan! Abu Dhabi is a fantastic place with a lot to offer, both in terms of education and lifestyle. It could be a great opportunity for your future. If you ever need any advice or just want to talk things through, feel free to reach out. Wishing you the best of luck with everything!

Hello Marc, I'm moving to Abu Dhabi in January 2024, and I will be working in the al Maryah island area. I'll be bringing in my little family. What are the standard practices in terms of rent ? (Security deposit, insurance, and so on)
Hi @sLouadah to the best of my knowledge, when you consider renting an apartment, your expenses typically include the apartment rental itself, agency fees ranging from 4-5%, a security deposit of 4-5%, as well as deposits for utilities such as electricity, and internet. Property Finder and Bayut are among the most commonly used websites for apartment searches in the Emirates.
Hey, I just got into Abu Dhabi, barely a day, I worked in Dubai for 5 years under Chef Massimo Bottura but the Dubai municipality was not that strict with the standards, how strict is it here ??
From my experience in the UAE, they always uphold strict food and safety standards to ensure guest safety. Abu Dhabi is no different, so you'll find the standards here are quite high too.
Is local buses ok to get to the tourist areas places like Heritage village, the Louvre museum. How much are taxi to those areas. Think of visiting in June
The buses are great 😊 and there is a line to go from Abu Dhabi city to the louvre and it’s not expensive, i guess around 15 dirhams, the taxi let’s say 50 dirhams. In June the weather is usually hot so better to use the taxi 🚕
Hi Amitha, Veg restaurants are fairly easy to find in Abu Dhabi, especially Indian cuisine spots, though they might not be everywhere. As for Jain temples, there isn’t a dedicated one in Abu Dhabi as far as I know, but some Hindu temples or community spaces may offer services.
Before arriving in Abu Dhabi on a visit visa to search for a job, it is crucial to familiarize yourself with the regulations and guidelines established by the UAE government. All the necessary information can be found online through the official UAE website.
I wish you included more prices and maybe the experience of yours friends or/and coworkers to give it a more rounded answer on what is it like to live there. Just more details. Do you own a home? Can you? Is your daughter a citizen? what was the process like? Do you have a community you are part of?
Thanks for the feedback! I'll include more details in future videos. To answer your questions: I don't own a home here, but it's possible for expats in some areas. My daughter isn’t a citizen, as citizenship is limited, but she had residency through us. We've found a great community through work and social groups. Thanks again for watching!
