Introducing the Barrett® MRAD™

- Опубліковано 3 лис 2010
- The MRAD rifle's user-changeable barrel system is just one example of this hardworking gun's modularity. The precision-grade barrel can be removed by simply unscrewing two bolts using a standard Torx wrench. This unique design paves the way for future caliber interchangeability and serviceability. Maintenance and logistical burdens are reduced by allowing barrel replacement at the user level.
The MRAD also boasts Barrett's new trigger module, which is easily accessed for maintenance, adjustment and replacement. This match-grade trigger is drop-fire-proof and combat-ready. Both the ambidextrous thumb-operated safety and magazine release can be used intuitively while retaining a firing grip and cheek weld.
Integrated into the MRAD rifle's 7000 series aluminum upper receiver is an M1913 rail with 30 MOA taper. At 21.75 inches, the rail offers plenty of space for mounting additional optical accessories. The configurable side and bottom rails can also hold a number of accessories and are easily repositioned.
The stock is where the MRAD rifle's adaptability truly shines. It's foldable for enhanced portability yet locks in as solid as a fixed-stock rifle, creating a riding platform for consistent firing. When folded, the stock latches around the bolt for added security during transport. Because the stock folds to the bolt handle side of the action, the rifle is the same width overall, folded or extended.
Made of a temperature-resistant polymer, the adjustable cheek piece also offers a consistent rifle-to-user contact point and can be adjusted from either side. The rifle's length of pull can be set to five different positions with the push of a single button.
From its quick-detach sling mounts to the Barrett Multi-Role Brown color of the rifle that blends into any environment-every detail of the MRAD has been carefully designed to create one thing: a high-performance rifle you can truly make your own.
MRAD will become available Mid-Year 2011. - Наука та технологія
WOW! Barrett have surpassed themselves. Seriously nice piece of kit. Incredible versatility with the user changeale calibre options.
True 21 Century Sniper Rifle..1 shot 1 kill Sir Ronnie Barrett,I Salute You!!Fan From India
Well done Barrett! This one looks like a winner for sure. I love the operator level adjustments that are possible, especially with quick takedown. Congrats on a job well done with this baby
Quick change is great. A lot of thought went into this one.
I like how you go onto the actual manufacturers channel and say that they called it the wrong thing, well done.
*How nice of UA-cam recommendations to remember me almost 11 years later...*
It's probably because all the big gun reviewers have only just recently gotten their hands on this kit in just the last year. Garand Thumb, Kevin Owens (who helped SOCOM select this rifle), and War Poet Society all have good videos with this gun. Norway, Israel, and New Zealand have issued this gun to their service members since 2012-13, but only recently did the US officially pick it up this year.
I just fell in love with this.
yeah man, nice rifle, nice music, nice video. barrett just found the sweetspot.
Glad the New Zealand army is now equipped with this
The US just bid on these as well. They're decking them out to $16,000 per unit.
I love mine definitely top 5 of my rifles
THIS GUN LOOKS EPIC!!!!!!!!
That rifle is amazing
It seems like they made the bolt change easier and changed the pistol grip shape, but overall this looks like the same gun that just started being issued last year! Good job Barrett!
This video is awesome and I'd love to play around with one of these rifles. The music is great, too.
And here we are today with it quite available to the consumer market too
To me it looks sexy with the camo, bolt, and the suppressor. Damn I gotta get one
Barrett is a genius.
SWEET rifle.
Wow. Seems like the Mother of all Sniper rifles to me!!! This is my favorite Barrett rifle hands down! Nice work!
You didn't even shoot it
@@thomasnguyen5639 its a comment from 8 year ago 💀
Nicely done! Looks amazing! I'd like to see a demonstration of the accuracy of this gun aswell!
pure awesomeness......
I better wish this gun for my christmas present!!XD
My favorite
First class 😊
Yes, they stated that it was a SOCOM outfitted M98B. It was one of the contenders for the PSR contract (details of which you can google, among other things, all the contenders had to have a folding stock and a quick switch barrel).
i've used this cause to say that it is a nice video...
Barrett 🖤
I like it ...
I WANT ONE!!!
Nice Atlas.
@doorgunner11, what point was I trying to make??? Only that I was not necessarily a dumb hillbilly. LOL. I have never served our country, KUDOS TO YOU FOR DOING SO, and I mean that with ALL RESPECT. Also, I have only had the opportunity to attend one Shot Show, but it was incredible. I'm also a TRUE born and bred Tennessean that has 15/40 MOA Barrett rings on my quick twist .338 Lapua Improved, so like I noted, I AM a Barrett fan, I just don't have your knowledge on the topic like you do.
@doorgunner11 , you're right on the money with the Model 82, and assuming that you are a doorgunner, I'm sure you know more than me. I was at the '98 Shot show, and always make a point to visit the Barrett booth. I didn't see the MRAD there. Nothing like the MRAD. Not arguing, just making a point. According to your wisdom, I guess the M107 was introduced in 19107??? Perhaps, I did not forward my thoughts very well, as I should not have used the word "stolen". Oh well. Best Wishes.
I'll own this gun one day.
looks like the equivalent AR 15 but for a sniper .
Great rifle.
awsome wondered if they were going to come out with it.
I WANT NOW!!!!!
beauty
Well,I have a new fav from barrett.
GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!!!!!!
This is the most tricked out manufacturers rifle I have seen.
I WANT !!!!!!!!
Gotta get me one of these.
Gotta have dreams.
very nice weapon system.... own one similar to it but mines is too heavy...this one seems pretty light...might have to get it when it comes out
Nice Marathon dive watch
Is there a left handed model? Great work Barrett, keep it up.
Who did the music?
@derrickgl, AGREED! .....even though I AM a Barrett fan.
@TNHeadhunters you can adjust it for other guns and rounds to ?
good
that's because it's based off it, this version was one of the candidates for the next SOCOM rifle.
3:48 wooo... that fast
@blinkysings No. It converts from .338 Lapua, to .300 Win mag to .308.
@Gabe S How was it cheesy? I thought it was fitting
Remington has pretty much had a shoe-in since the get-go, imo. The military, for the most part, seems to not to like to break tradition too much. Remington has been supplying them their bolt-action sniper rifles for ages now. Most of these rifles have little difference between them, I'd imagine.
@robovt102: no you can't! Because the the bolt carrier sticks to the stock as you can se at 0:30. as well it would be hard to pull the trigger. Greetings from Germany
Would my Swarovski Z6 5-30X50 scope be sufficient for this gun chambered in the .338 Lapua?
Dear Santa!!!
:D
@TNHeadhunters witch section of witch coutry ?
Any idea ya y'all came out in Norma Mag?
Does the scope need to be re-zeroed after every barrel change?
most likely as each barrel and round will have new ballistics.....
what's the name of the song?
In description
can someone tell which suppressor is used in 3:49 scene..
@TNHeadhunters if you can, yes
very very good!!!!who is the music backround of this video???
the msr is made by remington, winchester is the make of the model 1887 shotgun.
Who does that music please?
@msully993 I think this one has it beat by a few years...
@oilhammer04 YES
proper meccano
what are the difrences of MRAD and MSR
@1oyalty2no1 o lord as i say that i see in the video the 7.62 nato.. well thats it im sold.. must get me one
How far out can you effectively kill a human ?
The 25mm version I mean.
@oOBunnyackOo Depends, What kind of car?
first a think... ;)
nice video...
Drool.... She shall be mine!
@TNHeadhunters ah so, i knew it needed data from a computer or atleast something that can have the software that are included in the system and shit, but i didnt knew there was a category where you coud use handloads and i sertainly didnt knew it was able to be used with rifles that arent from barrett firearms
@SilentEagles if the saiga 12 is modded so it has a selective fire capabillity to go semi automatic or fully automatic, i woud think its again the saiga 12 who wins
Mine Didn't come this color. they painted it FDE?
held one in store, almost dropped it from hands trembling.
Semi auto version soon?
Love Barret firearms. Actually went to school in Murfreesboro. However, why do firearm companies all come to the conclusion that they need to play heavy metal music during their product demonstration videos? Are you showing us a firearm or is this a music video?
shit just got real
@hellcatdave1 Between this and the M98B
It's a good music for sport mtach highligt
Many features stolen from the Remington MSR. As long as the OAL of the cartridge can be 4 inches in .338 Lapua for a heavy 300 gr. payload, like what is offered in the Remington MSR, this should be a great rifle.
@Gunnut321 well i think the blaser tactical 2 owns the msr if i must beleve what is said about both rifles
rsass will be better then the m110
ever heard of the ak-200 ?
or an-94 and aek-971 ?
scar-h cant be compared, but i realy woud like to see an hk 417 compared to an saiga .308 full automatic modification
and the acr vs ak-200, that woud be more interesting, though i dont know for sure if talking about accuracy, i kinda already have a favorit because of verry likely better releabillity
@caolv comes in .338 Lapua Mag. then you can convert it to .300 Win Mags or 7.62×51 NATO/.308
with this military competition the sniper world just took the next step, can't wait to see what rifles will there be in the next 10 years.
Wow, an M98b...
wow
i wish i could but one
... so, it's like a Remington MSR, then?
It looks like the Remington MSR.
Except this one works 😂
@oOBunnyackOo I'm gonna need pictures of all those to decide.
yes finaly god has his own sniper rifle...
yes i know but its not Possible with the iPhone app
So the bolt can't be operated while the stock is collapsed? Design flaw.
it woud exualy be pretty nice to see a barrett rifle using the bors system in the millitary
for so far i know, the bors is only tested by civilian use
though thats maybe because its unrleable or i missed something
does annyone knows about the bors being used in anny millitary ?
@13thmistral
AA-12 should compared to Saiga-12/20/.410.
Sometimes I'm really surprised (positive) on American weapons!
@brad238899 You noticed that also??
The design is kind of like the Ruger precision rifle I have 300 Win Mag
no .50 caliber? why?
