This is what Squidmar videos use to be, more about A MINI, PAINTS and PROCESS, step by step. I love more this kind of videos, please, keep up the good work ❤❤❤
Don't really care for the title of this video, I know its clickbait/ragebait but you shouldn't be telling any miniature painter that their minis look like crap.
I much prefer these more informative and normal-paced videos than the turbo-speedy-wacky main channel ones. Feels much more like the old Squidmar videos.
Thank you so much for this. Something about the way you explained fixing the gold center belt part finally kind of made it click with me for the gold nmm. I suck so bad at nmm lol.
Thank you Emil, really enjoyed this process and review, The first model has similar things i am trying to change, really lvoe the emphasis you had on the shadow/darker colours when it comes to NMM, something ive ignored
Much appreciated video Emil 😍 I wonder, would you do some tutorial how to do these sketches and tests on Photoshop or whatever you use? I find it incredibly helpful to see an actual painted model as a before and after and test and doodle around in a software instead of the mini or a dedicated test mini ✌️
That is pretty much what I did, a combination of AK Interactive and Vallejo colours but as Emil said, more yellow and more orange would have helped me a LOT more 😅
I love your content, but please keep the clickbait titles to the main channel. I know I'm more likely to watch if I can actually tell what a video is about.
I agree, educational content should have titles to match. But saying "how highlighting will fix your miniatures" is still a title that pops, but also lets you know the topic.
Great video. In general, the understanding for highlighting is already there, for me the problem is rather that I still struggle a lot when mixing the colours. Do you already have a video on this, i.e. how best to mix colours to achieve a relatively good highlight?
You might want to look into ways of finding this channel. Only way I managed to find it was from a recommendation no amount of searching led me here. Link to here on your main channel and in video descriptions?
No, he needs to control the light and be deliberate with his application to learn and make it the best it can be. This video was recorded a while ago and he really nailed the rework :) so it was a great success
Hey man, did you send me an email on our website? I'm trying to help people that havent had updates on their order. But please send me an email and i'll do my best!
Mine got held up in customs and I had to fill out some paperwork with FEDex. It was weird. Never had paints from Europe require me to do that, but you might want to look for an email from fedex.
Super helpful video! I was wondering why the original greens on the third model didn't look like they meshed, but then when you added that third darker green next to them it was clear that the original shade leaned more towards blue, and the highlight more towards yellow. Does having the fade of a colour contrast in terms of light to dark and ALSO contrast from one color to another (Blue to yellow) generally over complicate the transition and make it look odd?
It actually helps with the contrast a lot going from cool to warm (in the final model I used purple tones in the shadows) and helps everything pop even more. So it doesn't look odd, you just need to trust the process 😅
I'm happy that you found another place dedicated solely to the painting process itself, like in the early days of Squidmar Miniatures.
Honestly, i was going to unsubscribe and now my favorite videos are back in force. Im so happy

you should do crits like this 100X more times on this channel this is fantastic stuff dude.
This has to be the best How To video series I have ever watched. Thank you very much!
Wow, thanks!

Yeah it made a huge difference to this piece for me. Still more learning to be had but the final mini looks SO much better for it
Wayching the light placement really helps thanks man

Paints arrived! Mega hyped! Can we expect paint tutorials for the champions of Sona miniatures included in the paint sets?
A lot of good information in this one , thank you good sir
I think it might be time to try painting a Stormcast in NMM. I love the second channel.

I really enjoyed this video and the time you spent with each mini, thanks!
Looking great! Can’t wait to see it finished 💥💥💥
This first one looks like it's the AK interactive NMM gold set that goes from black red up to ivory.
That is pretty much what I did, a combination of AK Interactive and Vallejo colours but as Emil said, more yellow and more orange would have helped me a LOT more 😅
This is *really* helpful, thank you!
Thank you for sharing so much knowledge with us and making us better than ever as a result.

The world doesn't revolve around you. It's free content and you're complaining.
@@Magick1an I don't get how some people can be so entitled.
You understand how UA-cam works right? Jesus h Christ you need to grow a pair and stop whining
@Magick1an I obviously meant it in the sense of "other people likely feel the same way"....

This video is so good definitely need more like this ❤

Dude, this is free?? This kind of stuff i pay patreons for!
Great video, lots of stuff to take away, not ready for nmm yet , maybe one day.

What a fantastic video! Such a good format!
as always, great video! and, i love the BeardSquid Skin 😆
Really don't appreciate the negative clickbait title. It's disingenuous and makes me like your channel less. Not watching this one, sorry
If only Australians could actually paint 🇦🇺🦘
This guy 😂
What do you expect, it’s hard to paint upside down, especially when the paint always falls out of the pots
@TheMikeyPie hey we try our best 😅

Oh, you are just a sad little troll. Good luck in life pal.
Nice, the videos where I get straight up insulted with the title alone are back - I LOVE IT :D
Imagine how I felt with my mini in the thumbnail 😂
@@Almindale HAHA that's a "feelsad" moment there - looks stunning btw 🤣
@ToXiicViiP3r thanks mate! Emil's feedback kept going after this and he really helped me push the mini!
@@Almindale Sounds great tbh! In my eyes, he is one of the nicest influencers out there :)
Still waiting on painting guides for the minis in the vallejo paint sets
Hey man, we're releasing guides for the Paints on a weekly basis to help you get the most from the paints, no matter what mini you're painting. :)
Really good advices! Also what is the final date for the campaign? So I call plan for money to get the airbrush. Thanks!
Hey man, the airbrush will be available until this Saturday. 26th of October
Ohhh love this miniature. Does anyone know what it's called?
Zion and dea, if you're referring to the first one
Nice
👍
as for the gold, cant he just bring in more contrast with glazes or inks? like sephia/purplish on the shadowparts and sephia/orange on the uppers?
No, he needs to control the light and be deliberate with his application to learn and make it the best it can be. This video was recorded a while ago and he really nailed the rework :) so it was a great success
Yeah it needed a full rework but paid off big time.
Matte looks awful, skin has oil and shine, lots of GD winners really get away from matte look
Might be able to fix it if my paints ever got delivered. over 3 weeks waiting with no response from harder and steenbeck!!!

@@squidlybits1985I'm guessing orders with an airbrush are being held? I only did an airbrush and it's been weeks since I ordered.
@@squidlybits1985 yeah i've emailed you earlier, the comment was born out frustration more than anything else

Watch this exact video, or the world will end in eight seconds! *NOT CLICKBAIT*
I hate this videos. The mini's look pro painted, this doesn't help poor little me at all.
