I built one of these a few months ago. Tape mod, bandaid mod, thick mousepad foam, Akko screw-in stabs, BBK switches, and some purple gradient keys. It's a great base to build off of.
Underrated channel - your production is great. Just bought two colors and will be trying different mods for each ;)
Thats awesome! What switches will you be using?
@@keybound going ktt kang whites for one of them and still looking for the second board, what would you recommend?
@@kenny8865 Highly Highly recommend the HMX Macaron switches. You can buy them through my affiliate link: unikeyboards.com?sca_ref=4261333.S51VlxSvTg

imma buy this, thank you so much man. You deserve the recognition.
Thank you so much!
Completely agree - great video. I got a black GMK67 too. Added loads of extra foam, tape modded, Akko V3 Lavender Purple Pro switches and Drop + Biip MT3 Extended keycaps. It’s gorgeous.
A weight mod gives a GMK65 a premium feel. Just stick those very flat adhesive wheel weights at te botttom of the case after getting rid of the case foam. The put polyfill on top of the weights.
The board will be hefty and in weight close to a kilo. The sound enhances by the polyfill and weights and also the flex increases a bit.
i didnt think about the wheels weights, will have to try that!
I love my GMK67 and i agree that I got it specifically because it can use PCB mounted stabs and has grrat customizability for sound. I first used the packing foam as PE foam but that was worse sound that thr included precut pe foam for me, so i ended up using it mostly stock, but with polished cherry mx blacks, staebies and xmi keycaps. Turned out to be a very balanced sound profile, neither too thocky nor too clacky, very balanced. Very happy with it and looking forward to the GMK87 or GMK81, I'll have to try one of them haha
Edit: personally I tried tape mod but removed it quickly. For my ears it takes away too much from the balanced sound and all I could hear was the tape. Preference, of course.
I recently ordered this board for 39$ with 14$ caps and 20$ switches from AliExpress. Same bord in my country cost around 80$ alone. I can't wait to see delivery guy and assemble this beast.
bro its just went down for only 23 dollars
Are there leds in the keyboard?
I got me one of those and I'm so happy, I did. For the price it sounds so good!!!
GMK67-S has been going for around $40 on Ali and it eschews the knob but has VIA. Prices have really come down over the past few years.
sounds good man looks good to yea I might try this board very soon gave a like.
I got GMK67 for $37 shipped to US, some folks even got a better deal, I don't see any reasons to pay twice as much for a rebranded keyboard. Sugar65 is a better deal @$70 imo. Also, I wouldn't buy those keycaps from ETSY, identical one could be found elsewhere at half the price.
Biased
Sugar65 propaganda
I'd rather use the stock poron switch foam over the PE foam tbh. Since PE foam seems a bit overpowering and makes switches sound homogenous.
I recommend trying the stock configuration but replacing the bottom case foam with polyfill sheet or goka foam instead, it made my gmk67 sound comfy, not saying it's better since it's a matter of preference but give it a shot, you might like it too.
This was a build for a friend and she really wanted the super foamy sound so this was perfect for her. I do agree with you though. Ideally if this build was for me i'd do a sheet of polyfill, keep the PCB foam and plate foam and actually go without the tape mod.
thank you so much for the info helped a lot definitely
Hey man, in the market for a keyboard for my missus. Great recommendation! Keep it up 👍
Sold my Anne pro 2 for this one. I’m never looking back.
W this guy is putting so much effort in his vids
you did a double pe foam mod
i smell underrated
I might get this and I am curious if you have to put together the pcb or any other thing because I think as a beginner in the custom keyboard market ( I have not bought one yet) I would like to know that. Thank you for your help
Can this work without the battery? Only on USB power.
great video! can you make a tutorial on how to mod those things(it's a lot of people's first keyboard... :).. )
Are there any latency issues with this kit? Is it good enough to game with?
yo the quality of this video is unbelievable man like what is this video doing in a small channel like this, im so confused//// did you lose a million subs or something
great build man
could you please tell me what is the polling rate of the keyboard ?
polling rate is 1000Hz for wired but it drops to 125Hz when bluetooth connected which seems pretty standard nowadays. I can add polling rate info into my future reviews.
@@keybound thanks man i appreciate it and yeah adding the polling rate to these vids would be a great idea cuz ngl im not trynna game on a cool looking shit keyboard
@@69bigzooim late but this keyboard's latency isn't advised for competitive gaming from what ive seen from latency test on this, its alright but not the best unless casual gaming etc, but yk on keyboards you may or may not notice a difference between wired and wireless 2.4ghz right
@@teadrinksfilms yeah ik but im just not trynna get bullshit things on my keyboard while i play cuz the one i currently use doesnt register some inputs which is veryyyyyy annoying so yk since i dont want to buy a gaming kb im going the budget custom route
whats the differnce between Boyi gmk 67 and zuoya gmk 67?
No difference really
how about mechwild's bb65
Please show the link for keycaps as well
link has been added!
How’s battery life for the gmk67?
would the jwick black linear v2 switch be better than the jwick black t1 v2 switch?
I mean it really depends on personnel preference i would suggest that you try both to see which one you like more maybe get like 10 v2s and a full keyboard amount of the linears and switch the switches and see which one you like more if you dw to spend a bomb on switches
ok bought this board and mod it omg I love it I go the purple to lol I made it thocky. Vid drop tonight by the way i sub to friend. sounds good more thocky than mine lol
i'll be doing more videos on this board in the near future
nice@@keybound
Is this via compatible?
You payed 67?????? Dude ingot it last week for 30 bucks from Ali express
Are there leds on the one from AliExpress?
@@snipes_suii yeah im literally using the gmk67 eith leds right now, dude its the same exact keyboard
@Visionary4787 thanks bro, I'm trying to make my first custom coming from an rk61
@@snipes_suii that's actually crazy, i did the exact same thing, ive been doing all the mods on this keyboard its so fun
@Visionary4787 it sounds like it man, what mods you done
this keyboard is $29 in Aliexpress
Hey, could you please share the link or at least a name of it, because gmk67, cost more at least the one's i am finding, thanks in advance.
This budget keyboard sucks. You can find a kit at the cheaper price ( 35 bucks ), but with an aluminum case, damn good RBG, good gasket mount, and full case foam (case foam, PCB foam, tape too if you find the right model). The Xinmeng M71 has tri mode connections, and it has software too. ( metal knob included)
If you found it more than 35 bucks, congratulations, you just discovered SUPER FUCKING INFLATION.
hmm....the video is good and all but I would really implore you do some in depth research before stating quite a lot of misleading info and if I need to point out 1 in particular it would be your statement that most budget keyboards comes with aluminum plate are very very misleading, the accurate facts regarding that would be most budget keyboards comes with a cheap spray on steel plate which sounds horrible and not aluminum. There is a huge difference in material and also how the keyboard sounds from both aluminum and steel, So I think there is a need for me to point this out and address this particular statement in this video. I don't mean to come off as trying to be an expert or anything but seeing as this video has 21k views it might also mean potentially there are people of that amount who thinks their budget steel plate is an aluminum plate and can't tell the difference moving forward. Also pro tip you can actually test if the plate on your keyboard is aluminum or steel with a little magnet, if the magnet sticks on your plate then it's just a steel plate and not aluminum.
Great point! I actually didnt even realize i said aluminum till you pointed it out. Chances are i just stumbled over my words when i did the recording and just said the wrong thing. I have since then stopped "winging" my commentary so hopefully my videos moving forward will be way more accurate but i do appreciate the feedback!
Thank you for taking my feedback constructively ! Looking forward to more videos ! @@keybound
I implore you to get back into your mommy's basement.
Man thats way too much foam. It makes it sound like doodoo was smeared inside the keyboard. Literally no identity.
Haha i am definetly more into the semi clack tone myself. However the person i was building this for much preferred the foam tone. Everyone has different tastes!
