Goes to show that those destined to be successful on youtube were doing what they love loooong before they were doing it for youtube
This guy only gets like 10% of the views he deserves
When 4WD and RWD could mean the same thing lol
Nice work. My one gripe would be the roll cage. You removed all of the triangulation while making the vehicle much heavier. In a rollover, it’s just going to collapse.
This build screams diesel swap as much as I like LS swaps
I agree, Even though 4.0's handle boost reasonably well.
Yes! 12 valve cummins!
Anything but a LS! This is unique and a more unique engine would fit better it.
@@dudeimusmangus its a teeter/totter: cheap , proven LS 1000 easily attainable horsepower ,massive aftermarket support, infinite tuning ability or exciting random idiots with uniqueness you will never see or experience? humm,i know my pick.remember the ratio of hood closed enjoying the effortless carefree abundance of reliable horsepower AND ECONOMY VS hood open looking at whats under it >>>>>is about 10000-1 ratio.
ive done very detailed research and 99% of people saying they do not like LS swaps fall into at least 3 of the following categories:
1)none of them own or have done an ls swap
2)none of them own anything that could even have an ls swap, usually they drive mundane economy crap or don't drive at all
3)none of them have the technical ability to do an ls swap
4)none of them have the financial means to do an ls swap
5)none of them understand the benefits vs the exuberant cost of exotic swaps that only please random dimwits
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 thanks for taking the time to write all that! You haven’t swayed me one bit. Have a good one!
You are crazy. You are also a genius. Please keep the videos coming.
Nice to see something that someone built without filming it. Just for the love of it all.
Wesley, I've wanted to take on a particular "never before done project" I've had in mind for some time. This settles it, I am doing it. Thank you for the inspiration.
The amount of engineering in these videos amazes me!! Keep the videos coming.
its loosing power because of extra wheels. NOW ITS TIME TO SUPERCHARGE IT
That's the way to go and LS with a supercharger plenty of power plenty of torque and you save on the weight
Yesssss! I was hopeful you would make a video of it!
It only took me 3 months of people asking haha
Amazing work ! Thanks for showing us.🌞
NICE! That Cummins sound perty good, can’t wait to see what power plant you go with. Thanx for the share. Nice build man.
This is amazing man, I wish you the best of luck.
Well done! It looks amazing! Look forward to more content on this build. God bless, stay well.
Cool, nice to see a fellow Arizonian.
you are badass dont know how i didnt find your channel sooner
Wait a second, I'm pretty sure I met you at a Cars and Coffee in AZ one time! Sick build dude!
Yeah I used to go there all the time! Thanks man!
bro, you're off your head! love it!
Nice toys, very nice build. That looks like an awesome ride. Nicely done.
you have 3 nice project, thew wrangler, the porsche and the covertte v12, keep the videos coming!!!!!!
Your gonna be a big channel keep it coming road a bunch be proud of the work you do .. nice jeep I had a 2004 green tj loved it
Great project Wesley!
Very rad build for sure!
I've had the privilege of swapping, working on, and driving cummins and LS jeeps and Landcrusier. Personally I like both of the engines, they both have there ups and there downs, but I recommend the LS. The LS is cheaper and you can run into any auto parts store and get anything you need for it because they most likely have the parts. The fuel mileage is also very surprising we've had LS Landcrusier beating out 4BT swapped Landcrusiers in the mpgs. For off-road use the LS is also very good because the all torque is there instantly, with the 4bt the turbo has to spool so it's kind of a pain sometimes in off-road applications. But either way you go I will be excited to watch you build it. You truck is really cool and you deserve a lot more subs for your creativity and ingenuity. Keep up the good work!
I would put the either an LS or a 4 cyl cummins. You could do the turbo but the main thing holding the 4.0 back is the crossflow heads. My dad swapped in an iron block 5.3 LS into his 1985 cj7 and was super happy with it.
This is sick. For not having footage of the build this was a great video
Really cool build. That Cummins diesel idea sounds pretty great. You'd have incredible low end torque, improved fuel economy, and with the 4 wheel configuration in the back, you'd be able to make the truck into something of a towing monster I would imagine.
You are a straight up genius bro.
Not sure where your at on the engine upgrades. I built a '75 CJ5, I used a 4 bolt pre '86 small block chevy (comp cam, high rise intake, headers ect.) using a trans adapt bellhousing to bolt up to the stock transmission. I used a ford clutch disc and a chevy pressure plate. It worked great I had plenty of bottom end torque all the way to redline. It was setup for the sand dunes, I could spool the tires to 35+ mph in 4x4. the 4bt weighs nearly double that of a LS & has half the rpm range. I wanted to do a diesel swap but the added weight would not have worked well in the sand or mud. Nice build
Very neat, thanks.
Cool setup.
Nice job. I did the same thing with the NP205 on my 66 Chevy C10 twelve years ago. Only difference is mine is bagged and slammed so it only drives both rear axles.
That looks awesome. We'll done sir. We'll done!👍👏👏👏
Man this thing is sick I really wished this was a project you documented for You Tube because this would of put your channel firmly on the map. I absolutely love this vehicle. I have never been a jeep junkies like many but I have always respected the vehicle and what it can do but man this is the jeep that should have been. You are an amazing engineer/fabricator mechanic. I love the F1 car as well but I only knew of this build because I seen it in the background of the F1 build just the rear end and I had to know more. I want to do this same build it a head turner for sure and I’ll bet you can climb up a tree if needed.
I have a 2012 Toyota Tacoma that I want to do this to! There are kits from Australia- but they are pricey. I was even considering having a lazy rear axle to avoid the extra complexity but using the 205 TC is a great solution and being able to choose what wheels are driven is neat too. Nice work!
Pretty damn good build!!
Delightful!
Thanks for this video. ..gave me a lot to think about
This is incredibly cool. You're a rare breed. Can't wait to see what you do in general.
I appreciate it!
This is awesome, I hope to get a wrangler then later make a 6x6 version
I have an old j10 and cool thing about them is the front dif is obviously over to one side for the transfer case but so is the rear, so the it can all be in line. You should try looking into finding one for the rear so you dont have to have you drive shaft as such an awkward angle
Just saw you cruising this thing today...had no idea you were in my neighborhood!
Papa Kraft visiting from MU. I love the big green meanie!!!
Cummins 4-cyl diesel for sure! Otherwise, the LT V6 platform? Nearly 300 bhp and 300+ lb ft of torques. A bit lighter than the LS V8 and some advanced tech you might like.
Great build
Thanks!
Incredible!
I am surprised this doesn't have more views! this is an awesome jeep build! Love to see what it would be like with a diesel powerplant. Just seems to make sense for something that looks like that!
Add a Jeep guy, I loved seeing this. Owned a 2000 Wrangler, but always wanted a Jeep truck. Your Cummins swap idea should work out great, though you may need to mess with spring ratios to keep it level. Keep in mind there was at least three stock coil-over ratios: front, light rear, and a hard rear for factory hard top models. Experimenting with them could help you keep the suspension in Jeep parts and give a good all around ride. Good luck dude!
When you can't get a Brute kit, build your own! Nicely done!
The Edelbrock aluminum head and a mild cam will give you a good bump in grunt.
V10 Touareg swap would be awesome
Would love to see some video of it rock crawling or other technical off road stuff. Great channel!
Very clever use of a second transfer case! Much cheaper than a specialized tandem axle differential!!!
LS or Cummins. Please. Please please. Do it. This is an awesome build. Nice work. Took the time to get it right. Love it
Any updates on the 60’s F1 Im in love with that car
Would love to see this thing become a deisel! A 4bt or even tdi engine would kick ass in that jeep
Nice simple construction on bed. I like that u drive it. I often think of doing this to mine. Just to big for me. But cool to look at.
very cool !
Wow. All those u-joints phasing properly with no vibration.
Nice work
I would love to see more on this, also it is a good candidate for a turbo diesel swap instead of ls. Would be awesome
What a mad lad 👌
Have you considered running some kind of gear case or chain case system for each side, linking the tandems together using a single axle and differential? This would eliminate the need for a second transfer case and driveline for a second rear axle. Pivoting bogie gearcases that swivel at the axle ends would also give you superior ground engagement over tandem axles, which are limited significantly by the vehicle rigidity. It would also be far smoother traversing small obstacles because you transfer your climbing travel distance from the wheel centers to the center (or pivot point elsewhere if asymmetrical cases) of the chain case cutting relative motion for each object in half
It would be awesome to get more in-depth videos on this.
It kinda looks like a mix between an m37 and an m39, this thing is super sweet!
Be cool to see a tdi in it for the torque and economy, I had this idea years ago great job
Great video. I have a rare International crewcab that will be going on an R150 IHC frame. I want to use my 8 foot box. I have been thinking about a 6X6 conversion. I have a Dana 60HP front and a new Dana 60 rear. I will need a second D60 rear. To bad, I just sold my last NP205. I will start looking again. I thank you for clearing up some things.
I love the build and would like to see more of this jeep? Maybe a more detailed walkaround with interior and engine mods, gearing, tires, size, any other custom mods since your first video. Thanks
freaking cool
without the bed, this looks like a mini tractor trailer 👍
Ok this is epic
incredible
Turbo stroker baby!!!!!!!
This needs more views, incredible!
🤣🤣😐😐
Very nice
Yeah this needs a 2nd gen Cummins 4BT. You'll love it.
Wesley, how about swapping the backmost axle with the front axle from a Jeep. Just remove the steering knuckles or fix it to not steer. Thereby you can eliminate the extreme angle on the prop shaft you currently have from the Dodge transfer case, because of the offset differential. I agree on the remark about the Toyota V8 diesel. It is a monster of an engine, and more or less bullet proof as well.
You deserve a ton of subs man. VERY cool.. Are you a mech. engineer? Or just a cool guy? I'm impressed.
I love it 👌
how's the turning? How's the scrubbing.
I am in the process of doing exactly that build using a 1998 Suzuki Vitara/Sidekick 4 door 4x4.
I am turning it into a four door 6x6 with a pickup bed.
My one issue was with the transfer case to run the rear wheels. I was in fact wondering if i could reverse the transfer case and i see you have done exactly that successfully.
My other option was to simply power the RR set of wheels only.
Nice to see someone has done the exact same thing i had in mind and it works.
Did you lower the spring rate at the rear after adding a second set of springs? It looked like it didn’t want to move through the range of motion.
Oh man, this is so cool!! Do you still have this around?
You've done the most understandable, concise overview of a 6x6 that I've seen. Thank you!
Do you know how the np205 handles lubrication, power and torque backwards?
I'd like to know about running it backwards?
Awesome build. Being able to switch between 2,4,6 wheel and even all 4 rear wheel alone is pretty cool. When you daily drive it do you keep it in 2wd?
Yep, just 2wd to save wear on the transfer cases.
@@WesleyKagan "Mid-wheel drive".
Awesome!
An old gm 292 or Ford 300 inline 6 with an offenhauser 4 barrel carb intake manifold swapped over to Holley EFI would make for an interesting power plant, those 292s/300s are very torquey engines from the factory and with a 4 barrel EFI set up it would be quite the monster. though I don’t know how hard it be to make that Chrysler transmission mate up with GM/Ford style bell housing. I know there kind antiquated engines but I think they would certainly be a good option for this application.
I honestly think I would just do a stroker kit on the 4 0 and be done with it. Ive got a supercharger on mine and being a 3 6 it makes ok power, I know a lot of crawling will he lost with this set up but your traction should be significantly better, I would look into lockers and upgrades on the front axle as it will now have significantly more stress on it than oem. Its a good looking build
Most definitely a 4BT Cummins!!!!
This is the cooler version of the Stradman’s Gladiator
This is the coolest 6x6
you should put a lift airbag on the axles...that way you can lift 1 axel for better fuel economy
Absolutely awesome work, but I'm not a fan of the design of the rear fenders. It looked much better to me in the shots where the rear frame was completely exposed. I think maybe a wider box that sits above the rear wheels would look better. Or perhaps an individual fender for each axle?
You could rotate the second axle to reduce the angle also
A 2000 will with minor harness modifications and the ECU out of the donor take a 5.9 or 5.2 Magnum Dodge/Jeep engine!
A nice engine upgrade would be the OM606 with mechanical fuel pump - plenty of bhp and torque
Sticking the cummins in there seems like a good idea, the more torque the better.
Good job. Please explain the pipe breaking for this 5+6 wells
That green reminds me of the old 6x gators
Great video! Look up "Cummins Jeep Repower"!
Make it into a Pinzgauer. Nice work. New sub.
They make a pass though ford 9 inch, (yoke on both sides), or the way i made a 6x6, witch was a chain box on the yoke of middle axle witch gave me a rear facing yoke on top of the pumkin to drive the back axle.
Both of these would be lighter, and less drag than what you have now, at the cost of full time drive of the back two axles.
Rear bumper air tank? Brilliant
