I think the thing we loved most about not only this place, but Malibu in general, is that it's accessible to everyone (minus parking costs sometimes). Where we live it is beautiful but it is prohibitive or too costly for people to see.
I could certainly do with blue skies reflecting off a beautiful beach right about now! Into our third day of grey and wet. Yup, can certainly hear them! You look almost as happy as Otis running on that beach! Awesome! Bruce and Otis
It is now gray and wet by us too. The beaches there are awesome and it's a good thing Zeus wasn't with us for this trip, because I think other than rare instances, no dogs allowed, which I understand, but it sucks.
When I was a little kid my sister lived in Laurel Canyon by all the movie stars and we used to go to the Malibu beaches to hang out. I love Malibu. But for as much as I love it there the fresh water of the great lakes with no sharks is more appealing to me. Lol
At least they share similarities! Unlike your favorite cities 😆 We loved it. For all the talk of how rich the area is, it’s surprisingly accessible and kind of untouched or undeveloped in a way. We’d go again in a heartbeat.
Thank you. You have to go! This is just one spot. I wish we had months for Malibu. We really want to explore the whole PCH too. We’re in the same boat as you. Retirement will be awesome!
Awww. Beautiful coastline and this must be in California…)Malibu is one of my favorite places for the beautiful beaches and camping. The Santa Monica mountain ranges, the state parks, the beaches, the wineries.. Point dume is one of the beautiful and famous beaches. Yes, planet of the apes climax scene (spoiler alert) was shot here..)
Thank you! I am not sure to be honest. We've been in the LA area that time of year but not Malibu. It is probably in the 70s and very nice - unlike the summer. Unless you like really hot weather in the summer hahaha
20 minutes? Malibu on the whole is both underrated and overrated. It’s famous for certain things, but should be famous for others. It’s also inexpensive to enjoy so much, but good luck eating cheaply. 😝
The beautiful and naturally secluded beach at Pirate's Cove was clothing optional in the pre-Internet 20th century. It might still be in principle, but modern absence of privacy makes it impossible.
It really is. The idea of a truly secluded place is like looking for a unicorn these days. Even without the internet, there are just so many people. We used to have a few official and unofficial nude beaches near us too that are now long gone.
Did you think about making a doc sequel that focus’s on environmental responsibility? Thanks for blowing up our spot like it’s you’re little Disneyland
loved Greyhound barking with/at the sealions. LOL great tour of point dume. is so beautiful.

Oh. My. Gosh.
How close is that to Gladstone's in Malibu? Went there for lunch on our babymoon and had a view of leaping dolphins.

@@MagellanandGreyhound It actually was not that expensive! Lunch time, though.
Lunch time changes everything! A piece of yellowtail can be $6 at lunch and $23 at dinner. Explain that to me. HAHAHA, and no thanks.
When greyhound was barking like a sea lion, my cat looked up at me as if to say what the heck was that? Lol.
It’s a greyhound barking … lol
Is the point Dume beach Hike challenging at all??
Not at all lol

Ok but you didn’t even go down those stairs to the beach. That’s what I was waiting for. Wtf
