I’m trying to replace the ribbon cable on my slim as it’s carving circles into my discs. Every video I watch tells me to use tape, but I was looking for a solution that will last a bit longer. All I needed to know was how to disassemble it and this video showed me everything I need. Thanks!

Hi, i did follow your steps and yes the PS1 fuse was damaged but when i replaced it it blow up again ! Any idea or solution ?! Thanks in advance
Maybe something in that circuit’s shorted to ground and that’s why it keeps blowing. Multimeter probe would let you know there’s a short on the rail but it’ll be hard to find the culprit without a way of injecting voltage.
Why cannot just bridge the broken fuse with a cable?
The console would work if you did that but then you lose the protection the fuse provides. If there’s a power surge it could damage something more important and harder to replace than the fuse that would have blown.
If you’re just testing the board to see if it’ll work with a new fuse it’s an option but I’d recommend you eventually replace it with a fuse before using it.
When i remove the power cord from my ps 2slim the red light is blinking what to do
I think a blinking red light means either an overheating or fan issue. Does the fan spin when it’s turned on?
