In Northern Ireland a protestant could not decide to become a Catholic because the Catholics would not accept them in their community areas .....and they wouldn't be able to stay with their families in a Protestant area so it would be absolutely impossible. There may not be bombing anymore in Belfast, but there are certainly still deep divisions in the two communities

I am grateful for Fr. Mike and Ascension Presents. I started Bible in a Year January 1st and decided around January 15th I wanted to to Catechism in a Year as well so I doubled up for a couple of weeks. Every day I press play for Bible and then the Catechism after. I never thought I would stick with it and we're on day 92 and I absolutely love it. I would never be able to get through it without Fr. Mike. He makes it all make sense.

Did you keep doubling up? was that overwhelming at all? I ask because I am about to start The Bible in a Year and want to just know all of it sooner (perhaps i'm rushing myself) but if it is better to focus on one first before the other maybe I should do that instead. Thanks in advance. From Australia

I follow the Bible in a Year and Catechism in a year podcast. I pray everyday that God provide the time of day to listen to the podcast. Just like everyone else, my day gets busy as soon as I wake up. God always provides a quiet time and place. Usually before everyone else wakes up. But if that doesn't work out, God gives me the patience to wait for the right time. Also, I don't Just listen, I read along with Father Mike. I think it's important to aquire the knowledge and skill I need to talk to others about God's plan of Salvation through his Son Jesus Christ.

I wanted to say also, My mom is the 76 year old that fell away from the church 50 years ago and listened to the Bible last year, because of your podcast.
I am Father Mike in that I’ve had to pray about anger.
I’ve acted the exact same way….
Saying I didn’t want to do something when I did; was just nervous and got attacked by the evil one.
Father Mike, is so smart, humble ,
    Personable 🙏

It is easier for us to pray or to go to daily mass if we really love God and could feel His love in return. God is very loving, we have to keep talking to Him throughout the day and night. We thank Him when we realize that He helps us, and we share with Him our troubles, stress, worries, heartaches, and we ask Him for guidance and strength in return. We will feel His love and His thoughts, and it will move us at times. We ask God to reign in us and we live in God and with God forever and ever.

Back in my elementary/ high school years, I was so confused why I get so angry with my family as we pray the Rosary together, didn't know it was an evil attack. Sadly, we stopped it and just pray our own when we want too. I get so mad with little things like how they respond, so slow or fast, crazy reasons. Had an anger issue in the past as well, thanks to these Holy priests online whom I learned so much & motivate me to go back to the Church, strengthen my relationahip to our Dear Saviour, Jesus Christ! Blessings to you Fr. & all the priests worldwide

I don’t know how old you are but I am 72. And last year I came back to the church after separating myself for over 50 years. One of my strongest memories was my family saying the rosary together when I was young. I believe that stayed with me in the most powerful way. Let’s pray for each other on our life and faith journey 🙏♥️

Thanks to God, for the gift of the Bible in a year program through Fr Mike. Hearing the explanation given by Fr Mike helps to understand the connection between the Old Testament n Christ, specially that Christ was the Rock for us to get living water,in the OT Moses strikes the rock at Meriba for giving water in the desert He was the On the Cross just like Moses made the serpent on the Rod to cure those who were bitten by the snake in the wilderness . God bless you Fr Mike 🙏

I agree...I'm praying for families who have lost their Faith & don't attend Mass. There's a disconnect with young families who are going through the motions of sending their kids to Catechism to make their First Communion, thereafter, parents don't follow through with studying towards Confirmation...I was recently told by my niece with two children 10 and 13 years old. Her son's friends have stopped going to church after making their Communion....I was saddened to hear. Where is the future of these children???

Hello Father Mike. First of all I'm sorry for your loss. May your mom rest in peace and may God give comfort to your family. I do not know if you will read this, I hope you do. What I wanted to talk to you about is that my husband turned to sedevacantism, and I do not know what to do. He has renounce the Catholic church, he says that the sedevacantist is the true Catholic church. Is like being married to a protestant since he goes to church with us but does not get communion, only once a month in a sedevacantist mass and he turn to it without telling us (me and our children), his brother took him and convince him that that church is the right one. Please if you could do a podcast or something that could make him understand that he is not in the right path. He says that the Pope is an heretic and that is why he switch. Blessings!

Yes, deliberate criticism of the pope is a huge current problem but what we don't need is a bunch of little "popes" running around like as you alluded to in the Protestant movement; receiving once a month as a symbol. The Catholic Faith doesn't require us to like, love or honor the pope but it does require a deep sense of community and unity. No one should leave the Church over something the pope said or more likely is spun by the media completely out of context. The examples are clear choices; either be like St Francis of Assisi or be like Martin Luther, unity or division.

I was raised French Catholic Faith for 22 years. Father Catholic & mother Protestant. My husband was the grandson of a Lutheran minister that became atheist. My husband died after 3 years of terminal care & I just returned to the church. I am a lecter. I listen to Bible & Catechism in a year. I go to mass daily. I find our priest disagreeable. He doesn’t like old people, or ill people, yet wants our money as we our awaiting the building of a new Church. Only back 5 months, I am questioning if I want to continue in this process. If our own priest doesn’t care why would God? Jeanne ( retired RN)

@@cametientaucoeur Even though man may fail, God never fails us. He keeps His promises. Something that helped me understand it better was a priest who told me that if a medicine was brought to me by a good doctor or bad doctor, the medicine is the same, it won’t change.
Based on what you’re writing, I believe you’re being obedient and faithful regardless of how your priest is. I’m sure our Heavenly Father is so pleased seeing you persevere.
Also, if you feel it in your heart to go to another Catholic parish, you can ask God to guide you to it. Many blessings :)

Why most of the Catholics always talk about how to bring people to the church or some church's activities, whereas God cares about the truthfullness of oour faith in Him first, not a membership in the church or all the activities of it. Bring people to Jesus and he will lead them to the church and all other things of religious performances!
