Thank you! I just started working as a post-production coordinator and this helped me a lot. Are you going to upload more of these kind of videos? That would be awesome :-)
In truth, DI usually throws out the CDL/Dailies color, only keeping the “Show LUT” that they most likely created in the first place. Colorists don’t want to have their “hands tied” once they’re creating the overall final project color.
Thank you Vicus for the clarification. This is great explanation.
Excellent video and resource! What a stud
THAT'S GOLD, 4 years i've been looking to find something like this, workflow explanation is so hard to find! Thanks a lot for this
As a new VFX Asst Coord I found this super helpful. Thanks for posting!

Hey Charlotte! Thanks! I know I'm replying 9 months too late, is there anything specific you'd like me to make a video about?
Great vid! EXACTLY what I was looking for and couldn't find anywhere else. Thank you for spending the time to make this. Has much changed in 5 years?
To be honest, it hasn't changed much! People are mostly using LUTs instead of CDLs. But the general workflow is still almost exactly the same :-)
OMG, this was so ridiculously helpfull!!
thanks a lot brother it's really helped me...keep posting videos like this n thanks again:)
Good and Informative; only one thing is missing... What format, resolution, etc the Camera Raw to be converted into for VFX people??? Please Answer.
Really depends on the client. Often it'll be 4k DPX or EXR sequences.
Superb explanation about edl and cdl files and the pipeline, kindly let us know how we would export cdl file
Thanks in advance

Thank you for the great video. Is it possible to add more accurate English subtitles?
Thank you man!
Great stuff. Do you still make UA-cam videos?
No unfortunately not anymore. Maybe I'll get back into it this year, thanks for the sub!
awesome! this guy made this video and then disappeared lol its funny how he says "in another video" but there's no another video hahaha
This video is kinda old but CDL is basically replaces by 3D Luts right?
A CDL is a 2D LUT. So nope, LUTS are better than a CDL and are often used instead of CDL's these days.
