the Knuckle Dusters that Brabus sells apparently count as “unarmed” damage. upgradable with a mutator slot. this could actually be a decent melee build…
You know whats crazy? I figured this out by talking to the guy thats always failing to hit on the chick by the garden.
He says "I feel bad for Earl, he needs someone to talk to"
My brain automatically assigned that dude as earl , idk why, so i waited for him to get up after many resets.
I spoke to him once but didn't pester.
I found out there was a prize, spent 5 hours of watching tv and reloading the map just to have him awake once ever since.
If you see him up, do not think,"I'll talk to him later."
That fkr never wants to wake up unless it's for a quick piss. Lol.
I’m actually using that ring now. It’s part of my Unarmed melee build. I also use the Knuckle Dusters, Overdrive, Meteorite Ring, Probability Cord, Bright Steel Ring, Weightless Weight, Melee Damage, Crit Chance and Damage Relic Fragments, and Challenger/Invader mix. Juggernaut/Worm Hole abilities. I’ve Weak Spot Crit for over 15k damage. Also, Leto Mk 1 armor, obviously.

@@iheartstrudel honestly, that 15k is circumstantial. I swapped Cord for Gambler, because weakspots with fists is not easy. I still have to use guns for certain fights, because Mother Mind and Annihilation are rather inconsiderate.
Edit: Whoops. Nevermind. There’s a cap on crit chance.
This is pretty cool lore stuff, I haven’t had the chance to listen to his story but he sounds like he must’ve been a boxer or something before everything, I like to imagine during a root attack he was there swinging haymakers and uppercuts to that dead wood lol
Pair it with the haymakers ring and leto's armor and you got an interesting build, potentially.
Interesting, slap on the Matriarch's Insignia amulet, put bright steel ring and meteorite shard ring on the other 2 ring slot and you can start cosplaying Muhammad Ali out there. If you dont mind flopping then switch out the bright steel ring for the burden of the destroyer ring for even more damage
Add Meteorite Shard Ring into the mix too, boosts armor encumbrance by 50 points giving Haymakers even more dmg, and plus adds an extra 50% dmg to unarmed.
There’s a build here. But I got a feeling that after it put together you’re gonna be runnin around armor less and weapon less. Akin to that famous pot head guy from the souls series.
Could do a weightless weight build instead of matriarch instead. Go full blitzcreig with melee lifestyle?
add the ring that makes charged melee attacks do bleed…
also, do those knuckles that Brabus sells count as “unarmed?”

In the future We'll be able to modify few of the current weapons, probably going to be dlc and I'm all for it. Even a melee weapon has a secret

I'm afraid no melee weapon other than the Knuckle Dusters (even says so in the item description) counts as unarmed. It has been tested.
i notice the brass knuckles specifically says they are unarmed dmg

With THAT kind of damage buff, I can't imagine anyone using it except for the one bastard dark souls player crazy enough to do a "level 1" playthrough with no weapons, no armor,No archetypes, and no archetype skill. Nothing but the Tarnished Ring, his bare hands, and a VERY heavy pair of plums between his legs

i was playing and some random guy joined my game and talked to him while he was sleeping and i got the ring and the the guy just up and left right after

Unequip your sword and you punch. You can also equip the knuckle busters and that counts as an unarmed attack.
What is considered an unarmed attack?
Your fists when you are unarmed and the Knuckle Dusters.
belly flop with leto's armor are considered an unnarmed attack
While I do like a good ole belly flop attack 😂 what Frederic said. Remove your sword so you punch or equip the knuckle busters.

This isn't really a secret. I think most of the community knew about this item the day of release. You can interact with a lot of the NPCs in Ward 13 over time and they'll give you items or offer something new to purchase.

While i knew about this by looking it up, it IS a secret. It is RNG and some people may never even see this dude awake let alone talk to him. Since there is almost no reason to talk to the random npcs in the ward. I've seen this dude awake 2 times, both when playing on characters other than my main completionist character. I have close to 100 hours on that character and he has NEVER been awake when I check. Imagine someone that never looked up anything, they could play 1000 hours and never see him awake, or if they do see him, never think "oh i should go up there and talk to that 1 single npc because he might give me something even though the other dozen random npcs don't give anything. Like seriously wtf IS a secret to you then? Please enlighten everyone to wtf YOU consider to be a secret. Because if this isn't a secret then I don't think ANYTHING counts as a secret in this game, other than maybe archon... which you can't even figure out unless you actually delve into the games code meaning you have to use 3rd party programs to have any chance of finding it (or the 1 in a million chance of accidentally putting on all the random items and then realizing that since you have that effect on your character it will allow you to open the door with the same effect on it).

Archon is a secret! If no one did some digging or whatever, then barely anyone would have it. This dude/ring is not a secret. It's like, oh, I have never seen this dude up before. I should go talk to him.oh sweet a ring. Cool. Idk. Maybe I have actual standards on what is and is not a secret. Btw, I quit reading whatever you wrote. It bored me. I guess I should apologize for knowing what is and is not a secret. What is obvious and what is not obvious. It buffs unarmed damage. So damage with your fists or knuckle busters. It will not buff the damage of your summons or turret. Your summons or turret could be deployed while your punching your target though 😂
