    Great one. Who started the building doesn't matter. It's from the Nigeria economy not a personal purse, even if there were personal sacrifices. The main thing is; LET NIGERIA MOVE FORWARD. I'm happy to see this. God bless Nigerian.

    I quote, "The nigerian elite are known to be amongst the most travelled in the world. How come they have turned a blind eye to developping the train service ? And nigerian businessmen, blind to the opportunities in the rail sector ?" ⬅ That's the 3-billion-dollar question unfortunately !

      because they frankly don't care, why waste energy, sleepless nights, meticulously strategizing plans for infastructure developments when you can embezzle millions of dollar overnight..

    Nigeria had their successful rail project, thanks to China. Makes me think that Nigeria has better rail service than Philippines, what a shame for my country. But now our president duterte has restored ties with China today, I hope china can build railway projects like this in my country.

      @ViceLibertyAndreas 8 років тому +6

      Yeah, I finally realize what the west is up to. Thanks to our dear President, he just revealed the real intentions of the West to the Philippines.

    • @judenwabuisi8247
      @judenwabuisi8247 7 років тому +1

      What do mean by "thanks to china"?
      Did they build the rail for free?
      Nigeria contracted them, that means Nigeria is doing them a favour. we could have contracted another country.

    • @dennyliu7494
      @dennyliu7494 7 років тому +9

      Mr. Nwabuisi, every country wants to improve its own infrastructure. The major consideration is very often not who to build it but the funding. Why do you think this project has not been held up for decades ? It is a very costly project, we are talking about billions of USD of investment. Do you thinking that given Nigeria's state of the economy it can borrow from ExImBank, EIB or even the World Bank ? The Chinese provided cheap funding for the project and that is what matters.

    • @judenwabuisi8247
      @judenwabuisi8247 7 років тому +1

      Denny lu, so what you are trying to tell us is that China is not gaining anything from this project, is that it?
      FYI, Nigeria has the best economy in Africa, and business is not only done with physical cash. Do you even have an idea of how rich Nigeria is, qua mineral resources? No, you don't.
      Ok, I get it, you know very little about economics.

    • @dennyliu7494
      @dennyliu7494 7 років тому +3

      Please do not be mean and personal. Did I say China is not gaining anything at all ? I did not. I don't know economics ? Just look at the following figures:
      GDP growth of Nigeria:
      4Q 2014 +5.94%
      1Q 2015 +3.96%
      2Q 2015 +2.35%
      3Q 2015 +2.84%
      4Q 2015 +2.11%
      1Q 2016 -0.36%
      2Q 2016 -2.06%
      3Q 2016 -2.24%
      4Q 2016 -1.3%
      Need I say more ?

    The train service in Nigeria needs to also link communities, not just other states. They should build an underground rail service. If a train can go from Mainland to Victoria Island or from V.I to Lekki, it would take SO many cars off the road, reduce traffic, and get rid of those terrible Danfo buses. It would make such a difference. New York is also extremely busy with millions of people running through the city itself everyday, but the implementation of the train system makes transport faster and totally reduces congestion, AND it's great for business.

    Starting a project of this nature is a good foundation for development.
    However, to sustain the momentum the nation has to develop new orientation towards maintenance, good working ethics, long term programs that will propel the investment beyond this generation.
    Beside, success is unrealistic if discipline is not part of norms governing the establishment. The workers must prepare to take responsibility whenever they air.
    I wish the Nation success.

      Guesstimate: About 1 hour. There is a board sign on departures and arrivals some where in the video 5.56 behind the reporter. That is the common mentality used by the Service providers here in Nigeria. Usually, they provide two coaches (one for the Return journey from either Terminal) and run concurrently, so i hope that helps?

      Ur statement is wrong, i bet you got confused by the boko haram(who are hausa) yes they hate western development but they do not represent all hausa people's opinions. We need minds like urs to demolish if we want to move forward, we are all Nigerian. Every Nigerian is against Boko haram, yes even the hausas, infact they kill more hausa people, despite being hausa themselves. To conclude this, Every single Nigerian (including Hausas) love seeing development in Nigeria, all Nigerian's want a forward movement to be a successful country with no corruption.
      Hope you stop a tribe by the acts of a bunch of corrupted and dangerous people.

These are one of the things that people complaints about being marginalized.. stop dividing Nigeria APC and it's leadership

      You should understand also that these rail projects are heavily capital intensive... Lagos-Ibadan costed $1.5b. Nigeria had to take a loan of $1.2b (N432b) thereabout to do that and paid $300m (N108b)...
      Now, look at the nation's total budget of 8tr then you'll understand.

    Here's the problem......why is it that things like this always go to the north? and we keep wondering why the south is always agitating for secession. Considering the tribal tensions in the country, if you start something like this for the north, ensure same happens for the south. Thatway, it will cut down drastically the high level of road accidents along the southern roads as well as robberies. If things like this are implemented in the south equally, am confident that every Nigerian will feel like a part of the country. However, I know some people will attack me for saying this but it is the truth.
