The real G14 experience is deleting Armory Crate and installing their G-Helper software instead. Doesn't hog your RAM and can clock down your laptop to stay cool when you aren't gaming.

4080 G16 oled review please :) how does the lower tgp hold up to full power laptops?
Maybe check and see what the fan curve is set at, it's probably in quiet mode😅
For Hell Divers 2 I was getting little over 70 FPS using a 2k resolution High setting and ran great as for heating I'm trying out a laptop cooler the "GT500 Powerful Turbo-Fan (5000 RPM) Laptop Cooling Pad" and its doing a fantastic job keep temps down even for the more demanding games which a slider to changed the speed of the fans and extras worth checking out
unplugged is same as plugged in this time
How does this laptop perform when gaming with battery only? Is performance throttled? I would like to know how street fighter 6 performs specifically, many thanks for any help

Is the performance at least a little better than the 2021 model? I finally broke that one and looking to get this 2024 model. Definitely impressed with the new design and updated features. Especially the better display...I was tired of FHD. If this holds up for years (performance wise) then I'll be a happy camper.
I'm really hoping to get this, just waiting for a sale though! At the moment 1k for last year's model with equivalent specs except a 512GB SSD looks extremely tempting compared to the 2024 model.
And interesting thing to note, I haven't seen the 4050 model anywhere yet.
I've a question no one seems to have asked. How does the slash lighting on the back of the lid affect battery life? In the past I heard that keyboard lighting drains a lot of battery, so I assume the slash lighting on the lid would drain a decent amount of battery as well? If so, I really see no reason to have it turned on at any time. Given you also cant see it when using it.
the lighting on the back and keyboard light will go off when the laptop is unplugged by default

How are you getting 12 hours of battery life? I got one a few days ago and with ECO mode turned on, brightness at 50% I can't even get 5 hours with light usage (emails, web browsing, UA-cam) - I really like this laptop but the battery life to me is below average (unless there is someway to get the great battery life you mentioned)
Are you disconnecting the graphics card and running it at a lower frame rate?
It gets better when it figures out your usage with time, if it's not fixed by the end of the return window consider getting a replacement or something.

Omen is only 65W to GPU compared to 90W on the Zephyrus and 105W on the Legion Slim 5.

I see that during disassembly you forgot about the hidden cover screws and just broke them. It's strange that you didn't say a word about this.

Lenovo Legion 5 14.5" is still the best laptop in this size. It can be found for around $1000US on sale regularly at Best Buy. It is the only laptop I have been able to game on an international flight using a 100W Type-C charger without draining any battery.

Am I the only one who likes having a number keypad on the side? Why do most companies not have this feature, anyone?
Because it looks terrible and pushes the main keyboard off to the left instead of being centered. Also, removing numpads creates space for top-firing speakers on each side of the keyboard which looks and sounds nicer.
Bec. It's only a 14" laptop. If you want a keypad better look for 15.6" and higher bro

why would you be messing with the screen just lift or close at the center and its no issue
@@SirJamesIGamerfuzion You dont need to "mess with screen" for it to wobble. I've seen it wobble when reviewers just so much as touch the table that it's on lol.

paying that price for low tdp gpus is just silly....i get more and more the impression that most of these hardware reviewers arent really serious

not everything is about performance and tdp , they intentionally kept it low for higher battery life and the improvements are not much after 90w

@@saketvelagapudi3062 and btw, no improvements beyond 90 tdb is suuuuper wrong, flat imp beyond a 100 is only true for the 4070 but not the higher end cards...look up for ex the review from hardware canuks where they tested this

this not the Asus, this is Macbook gaming laptop
This year's model is mostly downgrades:
-not upgradeable RAM,
-no vaporchamber,
-GPUs powered down,
-OLED screen that has not been yet tested for burn-in with lower frequency than previous models,
-screen hinges wobble like cheapest sh*t
with just two (unnecesary) upgrades: speakers and chasis internal/external design.
