Thank you! This is soooo helpful. I just started an Etsy shop and planning to use Pinterest as a marketing strategy but was confused as to where and how to start. I've only been an "ordinary" user, using Pinterest only to look for ideas but never utilized it for business before so I was totally "blind" about it. Wow, I'm so glad I found you right on time. I was watching another video on pinterest and the person suggested to create 90 pins per day. And I've got a very small website where I've got a few products under the same url. I would have gotten flagged to spam oblivion if I had posted 90 pins with the same link!! Not to mention I was feeling overwhelmed about having to create 90 pins (I can't pay for the bulk producing tools right now). Thank you soooo, so much!!

25:22 great video. What if I have only ONE URL (eg. for affiliate marketing) and I still want to pin 10 times per day? should I pin without url than? thanks
I'm so glad I found you! I create handmade items and my son wanted me to do UA-cam videos but I find that very time-consuming and learning the software is a bit overwhelming. I am entering retirement and I want something to keep me busy but not swamped! The days of 40-60 hour work weeks are done. I don't want to necessarily go "viral" I'm in my sixties and don't want to work that hard anymore but I want to stay active. I really like the idea of editing a photo and posting that. If sales come in that's great but I'd like it to be a trickle, not a torrent. I do have some minor health issues that create problems now and again so I need to manage those first.
I think you’ll find plenty to keep you busy here. I did create a follow up video to this if you want to watch it. It’s called 4 steps to create a Pinterest strategy. I walk you through what I talk about here.
Hi, Heather. I've watched quite a few videos regarding Pinterest, beginners, how to, etc etc. I even purch a course on Udemy of 10 hours (haven't finished it yet, half way through), but I'm just not getting it. Learning ability is not the problem, I've taught myself Photoshop, Adobe Illustrated and Coreldraw within the last two years without a problem. But I have an Etsy shop where I sell home goods and gifts, very boutique-like) and I want to 'pin' my unique designs to bring traffic to my shop/products. I JUST CAN'T SINK MY BRAIN INTO the different type of pins, how to create an effective sales style pin, how it even works to integrate my shop and pinterest. My brain hurts when I think about all of this and the thought of listening to another video that doesn't sink in!! Does your pin academy start from the beginning and help with all the things I've just listed? I'm at the point where I'm frustrated just writing about it, at this point!! I NEED HELP! Thx.
Hi Heather, I found your video after reading so many articles about the Pinterest 2024 algorithm. I have one client who had 1 Million impressions/day from March 2nd to mid-November 2023. But I have struggled to show the same performance since November. What do you see as a new algorithm change this year? I religiously shared 2 pins per day for the last 2 years. My accounts have some dips occasionally, but that happens only during the seasonal changes. Passing from winter to spring time. But what I have right now is out of character. Can you help me understand this new algorithm change? Thank you so much.
Have you watched the analytics video I just published recently? I bet there was something that went viral and you’re losing that virality now. I’d go in and find the source of the spike and then day by day track that forward to see if that’s the loss in impressions.
@@HeatherFarris@HeatherFarris I watched your analytics video. I know when virality goes, the impact goes too, but what I am saying is none of my new content is getting viral anymore. I always create content by looking at Pinterest Trends and finding viral keywords from there. But this doesn't work for me anymore. Some people say on Tiktok that bigger accounts get less interactions anymore I am not sure If It is true. I started to change the links on the new pins. I used to send people to my client's homepage for all the pins I created. I haven't seen any impact of doing this. I feel like there is something else I need to do, but reading and watching people's videos, I couldn't find that solution. I also use the Tailwind scheduler. Tailwind's timeline allegedly shares our pins with the best-performing times. But any of these doesn't work for me.
I just started one month ago and post regularly (in the design niche) but am a bit discouraged bc I still have no followers. “Views” are around 40k 🤷♀️I pin 5 a day usually leading to a blog post on my website. Is this considered spammy if they lead to my website? For one blog post with a certain theme, I create a series- I feel lthe story holds better this way across a few pins. Where else should the pins lead? Sorry, confused.
No you should lead people to your website. If you make a series of pins differentiate them like you’re doing. Don’t feel discouraged about the following. People on Pinterest don’t need to follow you to see your stuff. They engage then you start showing up in their feeds. They save and you show up even more. Work on getting as many saves in the beginning.

he so when we are posting say 2 to 5 pins per day should that be from different boards? Say I have a pin with an afflilate link. Should I create multiple.designs and push that same link multiple times a day or push variety of links? What is the best practice?
Hi! I have a question about connecting an Instagram account to Pinterest when you have multiple Instagram accounts. The Instagram business account I would like to connect is linked to my personal Instagram account via the Instagram preferences center, so I can switch between Instagram accounts without logging out each time. When I try to set up the Pinterest connection with the business account, Pinterest will not allow me to log in via the business account information. I can only log in via the personal (main) account information. Do you know if there is a way to have Pinterest connect the account I would like to select? Or is Pinterest always going to select the personal Instagram account as the main account because they have the same preferences center? Do you know, if you unlink the log ins via Meta (give them each their own preferences centers) will this allow you to link up the business account? Because it will now be separate than your personal account? Or if there is a different way to define which account is the 'main' account?
Hi Heather, I'm just starting on Pinterest, so still confused as to how to use Pinterest. I created a business account. But I have two completely different shops on Etsy selling very different items(not related), so do I create two different Pinterest accounts for each shop, or do I create different boards, or how doest that work? Also, in one of my shops, I sell printable junk journal pages and kits (something I create from scratch), so if I made a board called "Printable Junk Journal Kits" - so if I see posts about junk journal glues or other supplies, do i put that in that board, or do i create a different board like "Junk Journal Supplies"? I'm so confused!
23:58 URL best practice. I am currently creating content about 5/day directing them to the same landing page because am promoting one product. Am i doing it wrong?
Hi Heather, loving the information in this video! When getting started on your business pinterest is it smart to upload all your content at once or start slow? create 3-5 boards add 3 pins to start? Or create 10 boards and pin as much as possible?
I would schedule it because all at once May flag spam filters. You can use the native pin builder to upload those 3 pins and just schedule them out 1 hour apart for all 3. Upload your board cover right away and apply it then those pins will land on a fully optimized board.
I am just getting back into Pinterest! I used it for my blog back in 2017 and had a lot of success getting traffic, but took a hiatus for a few years. Starting fresh so this video is super helpful! Thanks for sharing 🙏
Hi, I am new to Pinterest and I don’t understand what you mean when you are talking about “pinning to the same URL.” Can you explain this? Thanks so much

Thank you for your help! I am starting using Pinterest and I am confused by the hashtags available. If I am selling a t-shirt about finance, it seems the options are very broad. If I write something more specific, it doesn't show on the list. If so, if I decide to use a hashtag of my choice, it wouldnt work as well, right?
@@HeatherFarris I meant when I am writing the description, I am also including some hashtags. So, for those, I cant be specific about the product I am selling.
Amazing video thank you so much! I watched an older video of yours last night and wow how much you've come on as a presenter, well done. I'm a complete newb to pinterest and just finished setting up my wix site yesterday. One question I have and apologies if you've covered in your other videos which I'll be watching after this, but I'm selling a 3 book bundle in the financial niche. What type of content should I be creating or how do I vary the content I am creating with such a small product range without seaming spammy?
Hi Heather! Im just getting started with Pinterest. I have a New Shopify store and want to pin my products to my Pinterest account. My Question, is it necessary or rather more beneficial to create a Pinterest Business account vs a regular account to drive traffic to my e-commerce shop?
Hello, you seem to imply that pointing all of your pins to the same url that is considered spammy. I don't know a lot about Pinterest yet, but if I'm trying to use it to promote items in my shop, wouldn't all of my pins be directed to the same url? I mean I guess different product pages within the store, does that count as different urls?
Hi Heather! Thanks for an informative video. I use Pinterest South Africa and our mobile builder does not have the product tag sticker ( :( It has the others , board, ask a question etc). What I have found though is that on Desktop, you can add product tags if you select the 'Create pin for ad' on the business hub tab. They still show the product tags even though I haven't created a campaign.
I don’t teach the business LLC bookkeeping things but the Pinterest strategy, client communication, setting up forms for onboarding etc, yes I got you.
This is where I have a question, because I’ve posted my pins on my Pinterest and behind on the back end, it says on the side of each video or photo that I posted that it’s expiring in 26 days? So I don’t get that due my pants expire? What does all that mean?
What do you mean by drafts? does this mean that my pins aren't permanent like they use to be years ago? I just got back on pinterest for my business, but how can i make my video/photo pins not expire? @@HeatherFarris
I just feel like it takes a lot of energy to create your post on pinterest along with the other platforms, filling everything in and for it to expire? how can i prevent that am i posting it under the wrong place in pinterest?
@@JMICTHEBRAND. If you're creating content in the native builder and saving it to drafts why not just go ahead and schedule it? Why let it sit in drafts beyond the 30 days?
Thank you for this video, really good info, I am around at 1,2k followers, with 9k views, but very few active interactions around 500 for the last 30 days. New Sub!! I am just starting Pinterest for my new brand I am getting ready to launch. I have educational behind the scenes videos and also my product photography ❤❤❤ so glad I found this. I never thought about using Pinterest as a social media platform like Tik Tok or Instagram but a lot of small businesses talk about how you need to have a Pinterest and not over see it.
I don't get Pinterest at all..I need Pinterest for dummies. Like what is a pin? How-to create one? What is a board? How to create one? Do you save pins? Everything cause Im super lost... Nope, this sounds like French to me 😐
You know when you do a Google search, it lists websites but you can choose "images " and it just shows you images in search results? That's pinterest. It's just visual results. A picture, a meme, a collage of ideas. As it has evolved, it involves video now, but it's just an image based platform, sort of like an old stye corkboard or bulletin board, rather than a list of sites, articles or videos, it's a collection of graphics, photos, design based assets.
Me too! All of these videos confuse me. Nobody really tells you how to use Pinterest on the daily. I have no clue how to create post and organize pins. It’s very confusing. I wish someone would do a really simple step by step on how to actually daily pin things for business.
Not real familiar with pinterest. Is it good to sell marketing courses on there, such as affiliate or business opportunities. Or is it better just to sell physical products like clothes and shoes
I like it for promoting my own products and services. I also have clients in a wide range of niches that all monetize differently. I’ll make a short & explain it better. For affiliates I wouldn’t really recommend doing it without a website.
Thank you so much. I have a landing page, website, and training course all set up in place. Just can't seem to understand how to go semi viral, with key words and don't understand if I should use topics as well. Thank you for replying back. NEW SUB.
One thing that confuses a lot of people is why their views aren’t higher. It’s not about how many views you have but what is happening with those views. Pinterest sends me on average $500/month in revenue, hundreds of email subscribers and thousands of views of videos. Because people watch one video then go on to watch more. That all adds up. So again, why do I need more? These people out here promising you 10m monthly views are 1) probably not even monetizing other than display ads, 2) teaching people fast hacks and tricks that don’t work for most.
Hello Heather, I've been successfully running Pinterest ads for a specific product over the last three months. While I manually installed the Pinterest tag, I'm not receiving accurate data through it. Therefore, I'm considering reinstalling the Pinterest tag using the Shopify Pinterest app and removing the manual installation. My question is whether reinstalling the tag will erase my valuable three month optimization Pinterest data, or if it won't cause any issues and the data will remain safe?
My head hurts lol. Not sure what I was thinking when I thought I could passively sell things and make money 😅 I didn’t consider everyone on the planet is also….this is great info tho thank you….easy I guess for people with nothing else to do ..
Well running a business isn’t for the faint of heart and the idea of “passive” being sold online is a lie. The only people passively making money are billionaires and even then they work their lives away on other things.
Well that’s a good user question. You have become accustomed to using other platforms but there are a lot of shoppers. The CEO is the former ecommerce head of Google.
I don’t go to Pinterest to shop necessarily, however, I do go there to get inspiration for home decor and fashion and if there is something I like a lot, I WILL click on the link and even buy it. Also, I was a teacher a year ago and I did use Pinterest to find lesson inspiration and even buy digital products.

What type of content should I be creating or how do I vary the content I am creating with such a small product range without seaming spammy?
How to Fjnd Pinterest Content Ideas for the Finance Niche #pintereststrategy #pinteresttrends
Great question, I filmed a short for you and it will pop in here as a response shortly.
Hi Heather! Im just getting started with Pinterest. I have a New Shopify store and want to pin my products to my Pinterest account. My Question, is it necessary or rather more beneficial to create a Pinterest Business account vs a regular account to drive traffic to my e-commerce shop?
Love your hair like this!! Great strategy updates as always :)
Thank you 🙏
😂" we don't hold you hostage " . Very clear amazing video! Love how you explain everything about pinterest!.
I have a short uploading to troubleshoot this for you

What's more important - the hashtag search words in the description or the hashtags you choose at the bottom of the pin menu?

I have a question can i share others youtube videos like if someone see diy decors on yt and i like it can i share a link on my pinterest acc ???
Yes, absolutely
@@HeatherFarris ok thank you, so i wont get copyright or anything if i just share a link right?
does it make sens to re-pin my pins to other boards?
Not really. I would focus on putting it on the most appropriate board then move on to new variations for other boards.
@@HeatherFarris I mean to re-pin my existing to other users' boards, like collaborative boards.
Same?
Is your course good for someone trying to get into pinterest management?
I don’t teach the business LLC bookkeeping things but the Pinterest strategy, client communication, setting up forms for onboarding etc, yes I got you.
Thank you so much for the info and your time 😊 very helpful ❤
My pleasure Agostina!
This is amazing! Thank you! :)

This is where I have a question, because I’ve posted my pins on my Pinterest and behind on the back end, it says on the side of each video or photo that I posted that it’s expiring in 26 days? So I don’t get that due my pants expire? What does all that mean?
Pinterest Native Scheduler Drafts Expiring?? #pintereststrategy #pinterestscheduler
I just uploaded a short to answer this for you! In short, you’re not doing anything wrong but drafts do expire! More to come. 😊

I have a blog that I am trying to promote and lead traffic from pinterest. So I want to try and follow all the tips from this video and update the comment in some months from now ✨
Hi Heather, I'm Colette and I'm interested in starting my business. For now, I would like to start a blog. I would like to review products, and feature those on Pintrist with affiliate links. Also, I would maybe set up a catalog on my blog of products I've featured. I went to school for marketing 100 years ago, and need help with the technology of it all. I'm looking for someone authentic and honest to help me get started.
My membership can be a starting place. I do have a content strategy course in there where I dig into keyword research and writing blogs. In March we are doing a deep dive training on blogging as well. I plan to cover setting up a website (Wordpress) and then the blogging process as well as some other things.
Things I don’t cover or haven’t covered:
Setting up a theme, buying a domain name, setting up hosting, etc but that’s what I’m going to be working to create.
If you’d like to come and hangout and see if we are a fit for you please visit pinprofitacademy.com.
We do live q&a calls, have a booming private community with amazing members who support each other.
And of course we have the Pinterest part covered.
You are a amazing mentor
Hi Heather, I had a pacific time to post and it was going well "my monthly views was 900k" then when I started post again at the same hour my view keeps getting down and now I'm using Tailwind recommend times, But I guess I need to change my contact but How, PLS HELP🙏🏻🙏🏻

Pinterest Viral Pins Losing Impressions & Reading Analytics
Do you do photography education?
Super informative and helpful!! Thank you, Heather. 🙌
Aw shucks thanks for watching Metricool!

I get lots of impressions on my posts but don’t get any followers. How do i get followers?
Followers on Pinterest: what’s it all about? Do they matter? #Pinterest strategy erest
I don't get Pinterest at all..I need Pinterest for dummies. Like what is a pin? How-to create one? What is a board? How to create one? Do you save pins? Everything cause Im super lost...
Nope, this sounds like French to me 😐
I don’t get it, at all!
I found pictures for decorating my 50th birthday party, but I don’t get even why I need Pinterest 🤯
Haha same, that’s why I’m here. I totally searched up how to use Pinterest lol
I felt the same way several years ago but managed to make it work. I’m still learning along the way… but if I figured it out - anybody can do it! 😅
This video could use chapter names and bullet points. The information comes into one ear end exists the other
@@karakamen I can do that! I’ll have riverside create it and add it in there.
Thankyou ❤very informative video
Glad it was helpful!
NEW SUB.
Pinterest is great for promoting marketing content #pinterestmarketing #pinterestformarketers
One thing that confuses me a little is why does your Pinterest page have so few monthly views (42K)?
One thing that confuses a lot of people is why their views aren’t higher. It’s not about how many views you have but what is happening with those views. Pinterest sends me on average $500/month in revenue, hundreds of email subscribers and thousands of views of videos. Because people watch one video then go on to watch more. That all adds up. So again, why do I need more? These people out here promising you 10m monthly views are 1) probably not even monetizing other than display ads, 2) teaching people fast hacks and tricks that don’t work for most.
A few more visuals would be helpful

Hello Heather, I've been successfully running Pinterest ads for a specific product over the last three months. While I manually installed the Pinterest tag, I'm not receiving accurate data through it. Therefore, I'm considering reinstalling the Pinterest tag using the Shopify Pinterest app and removing the manual installation. My question is whether reinstalling the tag will erase my valuable three month optimization Pinterest data, or if it won't cause any issues and the data will remain safe?
No, Pinterest collected that data so you can uninstall and reinstall and they still have it.

Please help me with my two accounts blocked in two months in which I was promoting keto nowadays to much Pinterest account blocked
Plus, learning this, practicing daily, can lead you further than not. I'd keep it up. You can do it!

Everyone says that a lot of people shop on Pinterest but how come I never shop on Pinterest? I shop a LOT but never on Pinterest.
Very helpful video (and I’ve watched MANY lately, as I’m preparing to start marketing on Pinterest). Thank you! And kudos to you for not only answering the many questions that have been posted here, but also answering some of them with short videos! I’ve not seen anyone else doing that. You’ve just earned another subscriber. 😉
Aw thanks V! My community is so important to me. Without you I wouldn’t have a job. So I always make time to answer comments and questions.
Your video has no visuals???
This video is full of useful information but I almost disliked and closed after watching the intro. Please focus less on selling your things at the start of the video and first deliver the info, then I’ll consider signing up or subscribing to your things! Thanks for the useful tips though 🙌
I agreed ! Please focus.
If you are willing to close out the video because of a sales pitch you don’t deserve the information lol. What kind of person who is going to be successful at anything gives up that easy 😂 mindset of a loser
