Anyone else think we had a shout for handball when Hutchinson hit the post, and a clear foul on Sarmiento for the second. Luck was definitely not on our side but good luck to Maidstone on the 5th round, shame they didn’t get the draw they wanted.

Mckenna just cant help creating history. Unfortunately this time it was for the other team 😂 In KM we trust. He's still learning. Imagine what he will be like this time next year? He doesn't make the same mistake twice.

Bad day at the office. Playing Sheff Weds or Coventry next was a genuine chance to progress to the 6th round, then it's only one game from Wembley.

Our defence in league and cup is dire. They always get caught going all to one side just like the first goal. And we desperately need a striker. If we don’t buy one, then it’s obvious the owners don’t feel like we need to be in the prem just yet according to their plans. We are ahead of schedule, this was frustrating though. Play offs will be a good finish for us.

Basically we put a reserve team out and also didn't field an actual striker. Broadhead was up front which is not where he is best. This needs to be a wake up call otherwise we are going to miss out on promotion. Which might not actually be so bad as we are not ready for that yet. On the bright side it was great seeing the budgies going out today - their season is going nowhere.

Probably our worst game in the past few years, 38 shots and 1 goal. Hope this match motivates the town squad to carry on their promotion push, it’s just one of those days.

It will be controversial but I don't think Ipswich have to buy a striker or two in January transfer window. Hirst will be back in few months. Ladapo and Ahadme are still owned by ITFC. Players that are in the squad are good enough to play well in that role. Town should buy only if they get quality player for right price. If it's not possible to do a good deal they shouldn't feel forced to buy.

Some say that Maidstone were lucky with scoring two from two shots on target or it was just 1 in 100. I cannot agree. Their two shots were two big chances. It's like having two penalties. They deserved to get a result. It shows how awful Ipswich defence is today. It's not the first time it happened. It was exactly the same against Danny Cowley's Portsmouth in lower league cup. Lot of possesion, lot of wasted chances but when they got a chance it was better than all Ipswich chances. Ipswich defenders are rarely scoring from set pieces this season. What's the point of them getting forward if they don't deliver? At least Town wouldn't concede first goal. McKenna is not that smart as some people make him. Ipswich tactics? In this round you have 180 minutes to score. You don't have to score until you concede. Ipswich commited too many bodies forward and were too vulnerable for counter attacks. Full backs didn't have to overlap every time. Why so many crosses to tiny Humphreys? He was OK in midfield year ago but it's not fair to play him out of position on the left. It makes him look worse than he really is. If McKenna has to play him at least give him a fair chance to play in his best position. Travis was supposed to be able to play as left back if needed.

How many shots did we fire at their goal? Hopefully, it'll return to startvwinning us points from next week because we need a couple of decent wins. Play well, lose well or play well & lose badly, not good. Blips happen.

Walton had two saves to make. Can't blame him but if he wanted to get his place back in the team, he can now forget about it. He was slightly off position for their second goal, left too much space for a near post shot. Too late to go out for their first goal. For second goal if he stays on the line it would make it easier to keep it out. Middle ground is the worst possible place for a goalkeeper. Too far to block and too near to react.

Edmundson was a man of the match in last two games but this time he was caught sleeping when they scored second goal. I was screaming in front of TV to wake him up as Sermiento lost a ball but Edmundson was too lazy to instantly mark his man. There was no rush from him until it was too late. That's why Ipswich concede too many goals. You see players don't care to do their job properly. First goal was awful. Tuanzebe and Edmundson didn't try to immediately go back after ball was lost. Dominic Ball showed that he completely doesn't understand what he needs to do when he is the last defender. He went AWOL without any chance to win the ball. Hutchinson was limping and wasn't able to run for few minutes. Nobody replaced him in defensive duties for a corner. It's lack of professionalism from Ipswich Town players and their manager to not solve such a basic problem.

  • @emem666

Burns is another headless chicken. He gets in right positions but when he runs he doesn't have ability to look what team mates are doing. It was painful to watch him getting ahead of his marker and wasting golden opportunities time after time. Hutchinson was even worse as he was slowing game down every time he got a ball. His rebound after Sermiento hit the post looks like it's in slow motion. He had an empty goal and he allowed both goalkeeper and defender to get back to block his poor shot. The same mistake he did against Norwich. Hutchinson has to find answer why he can't prove his abilities against non league opponents. He is too predictable with his mindset of trying to show off skills every time. There is no end product. If he learns to do simple things he will become a real player, otherwise Chelsea will get rid of him and new team will be as disappointed as I am right now. Broadhead still doesn't know how to finish one on ones. How many he needs to score one goal? His finishing is horrible and I don't know what they do on a training ground that they can't improve it. But at least he gets in right areas, this is something that other "strikers" struggle to do. From my point of view it's enough to play him ahead of Jackson. It doesn't have to be him as I think that Hutchinson, Chaplin and Harness could also play as a striker. It would make sense to rotate them.

Morsy was good as always but Taylor. His decision making in final third was terrible. There were million times when Ipswich players tried to shot with no chance of scoring when they should look for a pass. There were million times when they should try to shot and they were looking for next pass instead. It's all about timing and Ipswich players don't get it right when they get into penalty area. I think they need some games against U21s to learn how to break down weaker teams.

I'm angry with McKenna. He is definitely responsible for wrong choices for FA Cup game. It's really very important to play well in a game broadcasted all around the world. It's wrong time to pick random guys in the team. Aluko's best position is not an attacking midfielder. It's old folks house with his buddy Richard Keogh. Aluko wasn't good enough in League One, there was no way he would be good enough in the Championship or against... non league opponents. You can't score a goal when you're not able to run and you won't hit the target when you can't even get a clean hit on a ball. I don't understand why he wasn't released in the summer. If they wanted to keep him as a coach or a tea lady I would accept it but not as a player. Gentleman McKenna needs to grow a pair of hairy balls and act quicker to get rid of players with declining quality.

Shocking substitutions. Clarke's lack of football brain is stunning. It's virtually impossible to score a long range goal with a pass (side foot shot). It can happen when goalkeeper doesn't have a good view or from first contact strike like Morsy goal from corner. But never ever with something that Clarke tried to do. Buabo? He played 20 minutes, but he wouldn't score even if he had 2000 minutes against Maidstone. He's always hiding behind defenders just like Ladapo and Jackson. Ipswich need striker's coach to learn their forwards how to get into positions to score a goal. McKenna was a midfielder, he clearly doesn't understand how important it is, that's why he overrates big defensive forwards like Ladapo and Hirst or headless chickens like Jackson. Good strikers have a knack of finding easy chances, simple tap ins. Kieran doesn't rate that skill. I know why Broadhead started in the first eleven but why Jackson wasn't even on the bench? Buabo shouldn't play at all. You can't rely on a 18 year-old kid back from serious injury. If he has to pick youngsters they have to be in hot form in their U18/U21 teams with huge belief in themselves that they are the next big thing. Buabo is not considered fit to play in U18s so playing him in the main squad is a brain fart from McKenna. Why did he change Sermiento? He was the only attacking player that played well. Ipswich needed him to stay on the pitch to score next goal. McKenna is a prisoner of his policy to change all attacking players in every single game ~ 60 minute mark. He left Broadhead this time but it was Sermiento who should stay. Maybe he's not watching a game and doesn't know performance level of his players.
