He’s wearing a prosthetic nose, chin, etc. The camera rarely ever shows his hand gestures as well. He’s well aware that he has to be well aware of mannerisms etc. for the interview as well.
The interviewer and everyone she chose to interview were biased against the informant. Sad. Also, the informant was in contact with the two men because people were planning to harm others, but this reality was overlooked, and to the extent that the supposed purpose of the interview, to this viewer, seemed as if it were a promotional video for a peaceful people group that many now fail to trust. But here’s a fact contrary to that theory, and one worth noting. The informant via the journalist, said, at 33:20-25, how it “slipped” and the words “they have a man in America” were said by one of the men he was gaining info from. But guess what, on April 15, 2013 two brothers did unleash harm at the Boston Marathon, in America. And let us remember, the eldest brother spent time overseas with radical men linked with radical groups. So why did this reporter fail to add this fact to her story? Thus, there may be some credibility to this man’s claim. Sorry journalist, just when the accusation arises that all these folks are being targeted for being evil, yet a major reality to this story DID occur in America, and shortly after the informant heard the “slipped” news of such an occurrence!
From a review of the comments I wonder what biased means to ppl. Many people effectively answered that she is biased because she doesn't automatically take the side of the agent. But unbiased means balanced and fair. Are you saying that she is too supportive of the suspect, or of the agent? I didn't pick up a bias in any direction. What bias did you see? My opinion is that she is an amateur presenter, and therefore not sensitive to the intrinsic biases of the audience, therefore she looks biased to a biased audience seeking to hear echoes of their own biases, and not a probing interview of the interviewee. People expected more of a praise-party for a 'hero', because, before watching this interview and learning the facts, people had already outlined the plot in their heads, and assigned the roles of hero and villian. A good interviewer in my book, for knowing how to cut through all that, and being brave enough to go ahead and do it on a Canadian presentation.
@@heftyelf No, I'm saying straight out that I didn't believe this agent - his honesty is in question for me. Too many of the Americans in the comments section - the ones saying 'good job' hate that the journalist had the temerity to ask questions. The whole case stank of entrapment - something that the FBI is notorious for. In fact, American agencies are notorious for. I don't think you understand the first thing about schizophrenia - America puts people on death row who in the delusions of schizophrenia have killed someone. All of America's law enforcement appear to play to the press. Starting with created purp walks. Rather than right and wrong, America looks at winning cases, when the former should be of prime importance. It is little wonder that America has the highest prison population as they see it as a win to get prison time, rather than what is best for society. Your bond system is biased towards poor people - look at countries who don't use bail bonds, they have just as good a system. Many people are doing life without parole for none violent offences - there is no sense of justice in America- natural justice. America is run by corporations, who own senators and dictate laws. The bail bond lobby is one of the biggest..that is what I'm saying.

@@heftyelf If you know a great deal about schizophrenia then, yes. Someone could commit a terrorist offense while being a schizophrenic. The reporter interviews him like she is a cop or a mental health worker trying to do an assessment: her horrible style is not at all like a journalist.
Ture hero, I think all Canadians should thank this brave man. and by the way, as a CBC reporter, she does not seem respect to this guy. I feel sorry for that as a Canadian.
Let's be fair Habiba Nosheen. The reason she comes across as a terrible journalist is because, from what I understand, this is her first gig as a TV reporter. Her career prior to joining The Fifth Estate was writing media articles and producing documentaries (which she has won awards for). So she doesn't have the "classic" and experienced demeanor we're used to seeing from TV journalists. Especially with regard to her inflection and tone. Her narration is very much done in a feature documentary style, and her interviewing skills seem more informal. Basically, I don't think she's a bad journalist at all, but she hasn't yet honed her TV presence skills. Hopefully that'll improve with time. Also, some of the "dumb" questions she's asking are meant to be for the viewer's benefit, not ours. When she asks questions like "Why can't we see your real face" it's not because she's an idiot, it's because viewers are sometimes idiots and need clarification. Even if it seems obvious to most of us, it's intended to drive home the importance of his anonymity. I personally don't pick up on any sarcasm or arrogance from her demeanor, just inexperience with TV interviews that seem less polished and more informal. She sounds like a totally different person when she interviews vs when she narrates, and that's not something we're used to seeing with seasoned TV journalists.
Wholeheartedly agree. She plays devil's advocate - as 'Elnoury' himself says - to get at the truth of his claims. She displays no hint of condescension or disrespect to him.
Where did they find this woman interviewer? She seems and acts more Pro- Muslim than a responsible journalist!! She is biased to the core. And that chair she was sitting in? Sitting WAY far back with her leg's propped up?! The Muslim community can have feelings that they're being spied upon but the agent can't have a gut feeling that an act of terror is about to occur? How can't the FBI know that. This agent must have been disguised perfectly in front of the camera
and the other facets!
s - I thought so at first too. But if you _really_ listen, you can hear they digitally tinkered with his voice.
He’s wearing a prosthetic nose, chin, etc. The camera rarely ever shows his hand gestures as well. He’s well aware that he has to be well aware of mannerisms etc. for the interview as well.
Exactly. Nice hat and glasses, Clark Kent. Has anyone ever told you how much you look like Super-Man?
CT! nobody cares until something happens that's why he wasn't taken serious

Can we redo this interview and change the INTERVIEWER. She is biased
And ugly as sin
Please stop this misdirection
Thank you for your service to the whole world, truly a great Muslim
They entrapped a schitophrenic...wow, thanks for your service Mr I'm an a agent - and you...an idiot.
@@davidc3839 Are you insinuating that because a person has schizophrenia they can't commit a terrorist attack?
@@davidc3839 You have said it straight out now, but you hadn't before which is why I queried... I don't disagree with you. PS... I'm not American and I actually know a great deal about schizophrenia 😊
@@heftyelf If you know a great deal about schizophrenia then, yes. Someone could commit a terrorist offense while being a schizophrenic. What wouldn't be clear is how much the intent to commit the act was a rational choice or as a result of the illness - schizophrenic people can do anything. What they can't do is control their disease without medication...but I'm not an expert, just someone who knows a little.
I can't stand this interviewer. Gotta stop watching
I have watched this programme the exact day posted and never cease to amaze me 3 years later.
A good interview ...kudos The Fifth Estate
Somethings fishy about this. Maybe it’s the way the journalist is behaving? Or she’s biased? I don’t feel like we’re getting the whole story... Maybe conduct another interview, uncut?
Seriously she is the wrong person to do these interviews. Lady you be so not of the right mind you should take yourself out of any future interviews of this nature

Why you yourself started using the title, "'spreadthelove'' needs to be called into question now too after you left that comment below the above video.
I had to fast-forward whenever the female defense lawyer spoke. The woman made the hair on my arms stand up for whatever reason. Just the disdain with which she talked... Weird how people can have such an effect on you without even being in the same room lol

You actually put "undercover" and "why can't we identify you" in the same sentence? Wow, brilliant smh
It's called a joke. Way to miss it.
Love these documentaries very much 👍👍
Does that woman lawyer seriously and honestly believe that people don't get locked up for life based on a gut feeling about a defendant? That was appalling.
This was a very important interview and to give it to a woman like this it's just spoil the whole thing

Wow, what a horrible reporter, she was more interested in the undercover guy then the terrorists. All the questions and reporting is just horrible, it's hard to watch. Such a good episode, screwed up by a really bad reporter. Did you guy's run out of good reporters that actually know what they're doing?.
She's not a reporter. None of these are. Fifth Estate, Dateline, 60 minutes. They are NOT reporters nor journalists. They are interviewers. They follow a predetermined script. They are asking questions the network gave them.
You're amusing. You just don't get it at all hey..

I would love to back hand this interviewer, probably one of the worst, most dispassionate, robotic sounding journalists i have ever heard. i want to turn it off already, not because it's a bad story but because the sound of her voice is worse than nails on a chalkboard. she comes off a having no respect for this agent who puts his life on the line everyday.

I wouldn't even risk talking, walking and showing an altered version of my face if I were continuing to act undercover. This guy is extra nuts
A well-done documentary. I certainly admire the FBI Undercover officer who explained his reasoning and methods! Well Done sir! That said the journalist was not very effective IMHO.

The reporter interviews him like she is a cop or a mental health worker trying to do an assessment: her horrible style is not at all like a journalist.

This guy is a good storyteller, no matter who he is
Ture hero, I think all Canadians should thank this brave man. and by the way, as a CBC reporter, she does not seem respect to this guy.

She's awful, biased and has WAY TOO much FEELINGS for the bad guys. Maybe the F.B.I. should be investigating her???????
Just way to many holes in his story to be believable. Maybe 20 percent of what he shared seems fact.
Wow...is the interviewer working for someone else???? 3rd degree against cop is/was pathetic!!!! Did anyone check her sympathies??
The real question here is who unleashed all of these botts

This was a priceless opportunity to delve into a mysterious- secretive world that is very interesting. Why this interviewer was chosen is also a mystery. Opportunity wasted. Idiot questions 'derailed' this interview.
Good job! You're a hero for sure.

Fifth Estate should be ashamed to even claim this journalist as their own. She took it personally and really has no hold on real life.
