Yes you have to save the stock tune from the original PCM before you can install the unlocked PCM and complete the install. Diablosport labels it as the backup tune which is the original stock tune from factory
ya, you can only guestimate really without putting on a Dyno. I mean if you need to know the numbers then sure, but Im not doing anything specific that I need to know where Im at, but that being said I wouldnt mind knowing. It drives a lot better and more power throughout the power band!
Hey Matty...Watched this and the earlier vid for installing unlocked PCM...both were very informative. I use the HPT software to data log but looking at Diablo. Couple of questions; is it possible to see the tune files on the Diablo hand held or is the laptop the only way? And is it possible to upload the original PCM/TCM tunes from the factory ECM to the laptop after the bypass is installed? (Since the Diablo was never connected to the vehicle, initially you must have sent backup files that were loaded off the Diablo web site??? Also didn't see uploading original tunes from PCM/TCM to be loaded into new PCM by Diablo, you do have to do that don't you? ) Did you ever do a vid on how to data log? Thanks
@@jcasey460 ya you can’t modify or see the “tune” that was setup by a tuner like from Jay Greene. You can technically modify it though on the diablosport if you want. The original tune from my tuner will always stay the same though.
I have a 2015 Chevy Colorado Z71 6 cylinder and was curious if there are custom tunes for that type of vehicle? I bought the diablosport i3 platinum intuner and haven’t put it on yet. Also do I need to replace my pcm or can this be used with a factory pcm? It’s NOT unlocked
I have no clue on Chevy stuff at all. In theory there should be custom tunes from a reputable tuner I’m sure that uses Diablo. Not sure about the PCM stuff though for Chevy
For my Jay Greene Tune the 91 will see roughly 7-10HP and torque from stock tune... the 93 will then add another 3-5 on top of that with advanced timing and the 100 will see then another 5-10 with maxed out timing. Id have to get a Dyno done to accurately confirm the gains between each tune but that's a fairly accurate guess by my research and calculations. The transmission tune as I said in the video will be the one thing that really wakes up motor and you will feel the power a lot more as that Horspower and torque isn't being lost as much in the drivetrain, the midband really wakes up as well.
Hey Matty. I live in California also ,So the Diablo will save the old tune so if you have to revert back for smog , how do you find the original tune ? Is it named original tune ? Sorry bro I’m new to this Thank you for your help
Can't find the answer for a question I have. I have a tune already installed without the tcm tune. Do I have to put the stock tune back in and reload the custom tune into the vehicle in order to add the tcm tune? Or can I just add it to the current custom tune I already have installed in the vehicle?
@@MattySRT That's what I was figuring, I've gone in and adjusted the fan temp settings and didn't notice if the option was there for the tcm. Do you know if I have to install the stock tune in first before installing the 87 tune or will it work if I just reinstall the 87 tune?
@@devanhunter2890 you can just reinstall the 87 tune. Only time you need to load the stock tune is if you need to start from scratch and put everything back to stock. once you do that the I3 device unlocks. Then once you want to load a new tune the I3 will have to "read" your stock tune again and create that file which takes roughly 10-15 mins to do so I advised not to load the stock tune back unless you really need to. New tunes you can just load it as is.
@@MattySRT Alright, thanks for the info. I just tried going through reinstalling the 87 tune but this time it doesn't give me any options for the transmission. The first time installing the tune it had the option for transmission. I held off just to make sure the pcm tune was all fine and dandy before putting the tcm tune on. Looks like I should have just put the tcm tune on in the first place lol. yes you can load a custom tune. If you are asking if you can tune for a cam directly on the device, my answer is I dont think do. You can tune for fuel and some other things like speed limiter etc but for all custom tuning needs to be done by a tuner that has the CMR tuning software for Diablo Sport like Jay Greene
